Fall 57th, AV 514 – The Streets
She was beyond forgiveness, beyond mercy or any other similar consideration now. There was no dealing with such an evil with formless words and pretty desires. Some things were impossible to deal with in the conventional sense. As she stood in the shadows of the night a flash of what S'Essy had said so long ago now came to her, the possibility that people learnt from their experiences how to react life and others. She severely doubted the Konti had had to deal with such a monster before and wondered of there even was an explanation for them. She doubted it, all she knew was that it needed to be ended. Killed and dragged to and damned fire and burnt. Just to make sure it couldn't come back again. If she achieved nothing else this would be her magnus opus, her gift to Sunberth.
The proof that if you tired then evil could be destroyed. People needed that.
She was beyond animal now in this regard, even animals could show restraint when required. This was something distinctly human, something so far beyond homicidal that she had decided to do this alone. She couldn't face the possible condemnation in others. They wouldn't understand. One might but she had risked her enough, albeit unknowingly. No, she was on her own. If this madness was to consume someone it would be her. No one else. It was high time that the people of Sunberth who could play such games realised the price they paid when they tried to include her in their...proclivities. She was not one for excessive violence but this time, this time it would be a happy chance if the city burnt. Such was her wrath now.
You want to play games? Let's see how well you play... she thought darkly as her position upon the rooftops in the warehouses was kept, crouched against the elements and wreathed in her black cloak for the shadows.
Her wounds were immaterial, she would have her vengeance despite herself. She had sent out the massage, through variously mirrored means. This little shadow figure would know what was meant, they were intelligent enough to see through the words deposited with various people through out the city. Se wanted to meet this aggressor, though she doubted they would be there themselves. No, this was the first stage, the placing of the pawn upon the board that signified her intent. She would have to deal with thugs but that was fine by her. She would murder her way upwards through the echelons. No one touched Fallon and lived to tell the tale. She would make sure that from now on any who sought to prey upon her partner was well versed in what would happen.
“The message, that is more important that ultimate victory. That will come” she whispered to herself as she watched the alleys below, the only words for some time now. She was patient.
The initial message had already been sent, that whore who had kidnapped them was either living through a deep personal hell at present or had taken their own life already through the shame. She didn't care. She was almost tempted to ask others to save herself from the animal she had become now. Almost. She watched and waited. They came soon enough, below her and she counted sin in number. Not enough, not nearly enough for what she had designed. A fatal flaw or a testing? She wondered briefly as she kept her gaze upon them.
“Bert...Bert! He said here right?”
“Quiet!”
“Was just askin'”
“And that'll get you killed! Shut up and band together”
“I don't see nuffing”
“Which is how you know it's trouble. Shut...up! Eyes peeled” were the hisses as they each fanned out to cover an entrance to the spot designated, four alleys at a larger crossing.
She grinned darkly, they were akin to lambs for the slaughter. One at each entrance meant only two in the centre of the restricted open space. She considered her next move, what to do and the best course of action. Stealth or fear, that was the big question. Was it better to state now her intent and watch them piss themselves or to kill a few and then do so. She opted for the latter and kept her silence as she watched the movements, this was going to be easy. What was more, this shadowed 'friend; would know it. They had eyes here somewhere she was sure.
Let them see, see what happens when you petch with me and mine she noted grimly as she waited for one to come beneath her, ripe for the taking.
