NaNoWriMo Is Here!
It's that time of year again. November is tomorrow. That means Mizahar is going to spend the month of November in challenging writing where everyone is being counted towards NaNoWriMo. What is NaNoWriMo? Its National Novel Writing Month! That means here in the USA writers drop out of sight, hang out in cafes, stop seeing their friends, shun the public eye, and all lean over their computers and try to accomplish 50K words in one month! Why? The average novel is about 50,000 words long. So writers all over the country (and outside of it as well) participate in NaNo. Here in Mizahar, we try and write 50K words with our PCs during this month. There's an award for several things... finishing! Top word count! And this year the Founders and Regional Storytellers have some other secret awards planned that will be awarded at the end of the month.
So feel free to encourage others, plan some threads, and write your little hearts out! We don't do this in the spirit of competition with others, we do this honestly in the spirit of competition with ourselves.
Hopefully if Tarot is willing, we will have an official count once a day for the next thirty days! He's expressed interest in doing so, but has a hectic schedule... so forgive any missing days. We will keep a running tally on word counts one way or another throughout the month.
