Race: Inarta
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Birthday: 23 Summer 500 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Current Place: Syliras

Appearance

This boy falls on the shorter side of the Inarta boys with a height of 5’3’’ and weighing in at 120 pounds. Despite being an Inarta he looks rather lean compared to most others but he hides himself very well. He’s rather well-toned underneath all the clothes. He could actually be considered dainty when compared to other Inarta children. There is a considerably large scar running from Lyze’s elbow to his shoulder in a jagged fashion. He’s also missing his index finger and his middle finger on his dominant right hand. He has other miscellaneous scars from his Inarta childhood but they don’t stand out too much. What stands out the most about Lyze is his fiery red hair. It’s runs down to his shoulders, resting comfortably there. It looks rather soft and silky, sometimes done up in simplistic braids. His braids showcase none of the Inarta glasswork but instead colorful beads. His hair is the only physical indication of his background.

His face is surprisingly triangular for someone of his stature, though his young age gives smooth coverings to the growing edges. His nose can only be described as perky, curving inward and down gracefully before jutting out into a refined point. His eyes are a bright blue that curve down in a droopy hooded look, giving him the appearance of a state of perpetual exhaustion or perpetual apathy depending on the person. His shoulders are at a natural slope which causes Lyze to have to stand up straighter. His skin is very light. He is sometimes mistaken as a female.

Character Concept

The first thing noticed about Lyze is that he’s much too serious for a boy his age. His lips always drawn tight as he observes the area around him, hooded eyes looking nearly bored as he searches for something unknown. His gaze often makes others uncomfortable. Lyze is Inarta so it’s possible to make him angry quicker than others but he attempts to keep a cool head. Whenever it is truly roused, his face turns glaringly red and he attempts assess the situation. Due to being raised in a household of all girls, he learned to be more level-headed than most of his male peers. Though, if he thinks there’s even a slight chance of him winning, he’ll jump in. On the other side of emotions, it is rare for him to laugh though if he does find something truly funny then it’ll be hard to get him to stop for at least a chime or two.

Despite the way he acts, he’s not closed off with his story. He feels like he understands himself well enough and isn’t afraid to talk about his adventures, however short they may be. At times he feels like he’s at peace with the natural world. He wouldn’t mind it so much if he were to die. He doesn’t want to but he wouldn’t particularly be opposed to it if it were his time. Despite this feeling of security with himself, he’ll still go to any lengths to avoid another Inarta due to the abandonment of his home. While he may accept death as well as think he has an understanding of the world around him, he’s is still ignorant about many topics.

Even if he hasn’t figured out that he doesn’t have a perfect balance with the natural world yet, he realizes the world is in what he believes to be disharmony. His sense of moral right and wrong is very strong, he believes in a punishment system that makes sense such as his own species. He's a heavy believer in "an eye for an eye." Another large part of Lyze is that he refuses to allow himself to rely on someone too heavily due to his fear of dependency. He believes being too dependent on someone makes one weak. Due to this mindset, he isn't too fond of the Kelvic people. He worships no God in particular, though Zulrav does intrigue him the most.

Character History

Lyze grew up in a Chiet household with his mother and father who was never around. His mother was a hard woman, always walking around with a surly look on her face. She wasn’t particularly beautiful nor was she ugly. Lyze always saw her as someone of average appearance even if his mother never cared much for that. He idolized her. She was strong-willed and strong-bodied which was what Lyze had wanted to be so badly. Lyze was born with two sisters, Olan and Hyla. As he was growing up, Lyze was aware he had both older and younger sisters all around but his older ones left to the youth section and he left his younger sisters when he turned eight and went to the youth section. Olan and Hyla were the only ones that really stuck. Whenever their mother told him he was “just another stupid boy,” they would try to give him pointers on how not to be. Olan and Hyla enjoyed the idea of having an exotic male twin, at least exotic for their family, so they stuck close by.

Despite not knowing his many sisters names, he was still influenced by them greatly. His mother always bemoaned about having a “reckless little boy.” She had also said that Lyze was surely going to “be one of those idiots that challenged the largest walrus.” In an attempt to prove her wrong Lyze reigned in his more tumultuous attitude and calmed himself down, learning how to properly assess a situation from his sister Hyla. In all honesty, Olan was just as crazy as any boy Inarta. Whilst trying to impress his mother, his intelligence began to surpass the boys of his age but he also trained with them, toning his body. Once he turned eight, he vowed to become one of the most intelligent Inarta in all of Wind Reach to show his mother he wasn’t just another reckless boy. It ended up with Lyze stretching himself thin to the point where he was working all day and studying all night. He even started to fall asleep during his bendis which gave others the impression of laziness. By 10 he was struck with a fear that he really was going to turn out to be a disappointment and be made a Dek.

Soon after his fears really started to set in, he made plans to leave. All he told Olan and Hyla was that he wanted to explore the world. In reality he was running away and knew exactly what the action was. This didn’t deter him as he believed that running away was far more favorable than becoming a Dek. He knew that if he became a Dek then he would have no chance to run away so he decided to hop onto that boat early on. A young human couple was more than happy to take him along on their journey and drop him off at Syliras. They wanted children but didn’t want to go through the trouble of raising an infant. So they took Lyze under their wing and took him as close to Syliras as possible. He traveled with them for a whole year until they parted ways. He was 11, almost 12, by then and had quite the mouth on him. The young couple taught him Common but he still sometimes speaks broken Common when he gets too emotional or just isn't paying attention. Only a few months later he picked up bragging. His bragging about his archery skills got him his middle finger and index finger cut off by a group of bandits that didn't take kindly to smart mouths.

Shortly after that he arrived at Syliras and, though his trip through the forest was rather short, it was still a very arduous and dangerous process. As soon as he entered the city, he quickly got picked up by the knights, soon after he became a squire.
