Unfamiliar Streets (Nehsmay, Seliarus, and Lelio)

Nehsmay stared at Lelio with wide eyes seeing her handkerchief torn to pieces. "Why you little rascal!" she cried out "My mom gave it to me. What did you to that for?" She hmph-ed and ruffled the imp's hair.

Suddenly the boy started yelling and Nehsmay did a small jump backwards falling on the ground once more. "What in Morwen's name are you doing?" She adverted her gaze towards Nidae and Seliarus hoping to get an answer from them.

The Vantha then noticed a figure yelling at a wall and the fox Kelvic yelling and waving, reminding her painfully of her siblings when they had been young. She had never been that wild, haven't she? She made a mental note to ask her mother as soon as she returned home.

Unfamiliar Streets (Nehsmay, Seliarus, and Lelio)

Nidassasyae spun, hearing the low and threatening sound of growling. Her eyes fastened on some strange girl punching a wall, getting quite angry at it. If Nidae hadn't known that punching stone had no effect, or was freaked out enough by this city, she'd probably end up doing that too. Shuddering, the leopard turned back to her companions.

Amused, Nidae observed the strange boy try to evade Nehsmay's cleaning. She grinned. It was extremely hard to avoid that handkerchief, she should know. Coming into Avanthal as a dirty, wounded, and starved girl had given her more than enough experiance of how to fear Nehsmay's handkerchief. If the Vantha was distracted, if only for a moment, there was a slight chance at escape.

There! The boy did it! She wasn't too sure if she respected him for a quick reaction, or was a bit disgusted at him trying to eat the piece of cloth. Even she, having lived in the Northern wastes for all her life, knew not to eat clothing. But, she supposed, where warm and intact clothing and furs meant survival, here in this abominably hot place perhaps it meant something much less to the people.

Nidassasyae leapt forwards, landing to kneel beside Nehsmay. "Are you alright?" she asked. In response to Nehsmay's question, she shrugged. "Just met him when he fell from the roof, don't even know his name, much less what's going on. Should we just leave him?"

Unfamiliar Streets (Nehsmay, Seliarus, and Lelio)

Postby Seliarus on October 29th, 2010, 6:34 am

Seliarus kept his distance. To be fully honest, we was starting to get quite amused on how everything turned out to be. It was not pretty much settled. In a town where people jump down from roofs, and where they punch walls, there is no way one could keep his sanity. Period. He shook his head, and slide his tongue across his quite dry lips, in order to soak them. What do you know, this whole scene made him quite thirsty.

He decided to make a few long, and slow steps forward, in the direction of his two companions. He turned his back towards the two other Kelvics, who the Dhani was sure they couldn't be helped anymore, and then he'd lower his head down, whispering to the two, just so loud for them to hear. A monotone, hissing tone it would be. "I think...It would be time." He said, as cold as always, even though inside of him, he was nearly screaming his lungs out, he didn't show that, and nodded at his own statement. "We ssshould get a place to ressst. I don't know about you two, but this cssity made me dissslike the human kind a bit more. We ssshould find a place where it'sss more sssilent."
"Who knows? Life is like a roll on the dice. You can’t know if something is a good, or a bad roll until it already happened."

Unfamiliar Streets (Nehsmay, Seliarus, and Lelio)

Postby Nehsmay on October 29th, 2010, 7:24 am

"He looks hurt..." Nehsmay chewed on her lower lip trying to make up her mind whether she should help the hyperactive boy or get out of that mad city. She felt the latter would be a saner thing to do and she was given the possibility to agree to the plan when Seliarus asked to leave.

"I fell offended..." Nehsmay said plainly hearing his remark about disliking the human kind "Vantha are humans to and our city is far from all this... madness. RIght Nidae? You've seen Avanthal." she gestured towards the crow that appeared out of thin air in front of a shop. "However I agree with getting out of her. At the moment I'd prefer my tent and sleeping bag over any other cozy bed in the Traveler's row, but that remains to be see."

Nehsmay wondered if all other cities were the same or this one was simply the biggest and most crowded. She liked its architecture and tall towers, but hated the fact that she couldn't walk in a straight line without having to evade one person or the other. "Let's head back to the gates for a bit." She proposed and waited for an answer from her friends.

Nidae was thoroughly fed up with this city. She knew that she'd have to come here at some point, to sell meat and furs to the butcher, but that was it. Nidassasyae didn't want to have to enter the city more than she had to.

"Hurt? The boy's running all over the place!" protested Nidae. She wasn't really in a mood to be considerate. The grumpy predator sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. She wouldn't have agreed to come adventuring if it consisted of entering cities like this.

"Avanthal is very different than this. Cozy, the people are kind, there aren't so many crowds, temperature's nicer..." Nidae agreed, launching in a list of the good things of the icy city.

"I guess we'll have to go here sometimes, to get supplies. But other than that, I'd much rather sleep outside the city." The leopard voiced her earlier thoughts. "I've just got to get a preserving kit and sled so I can bring the meat and fur in."

She nodded vigorously, walking over to Nehsmay. Going back to the gates seemed like an excellent idea.

Hee hee. Your friend talks funny, Lelio said with a chuckle when he heard Seliarus talking.

He was shaking his head left and right as if bored, trying to figure out what to do next. Boy this day was eventful! It was well worth falling down a rooftop to meet these people - although that "Neshmay"'s treat had an awful taste. How could human eat things like that? It just tasted like clothing. Uh, hold on. Why would anyone have a clothing so small? It just didn't make any sense. Bad food, Lelio decided with a shrug.

I'm not running around, the boy answered, blinking his eyes with surprise.

I'm sitting! he went on, stating the obvious.

Soooo when are we going? he asked with curiosity.

The Dhani thought about for a moment. The gates? That did sound quite tempting. Even though there will still be the commotion and the crowd, at least he'll be able to see the outside. That should calm him down, he hoped. But then he remembered he still needed to go to the tavern for his flute playing. After a moment, he decided he'll go there in the evening, when the people should be sleeping. He grinned to himself, because his idea seemed logical, and might as well work. Luckily, he was still able to think straight. He glared at Lelio afterward, as he didn't like the comment of him speaking "funny". Even though he wasn't directly sure if that was said to him, let's face it. He was the only one with a different pronunciation that the rest. He sighed, and imagining how it would be "funny" if he was allowed to devour the young Kelvic whole.

But he shook his head, knowing better than to think about that, and so he turned towards his two companions. He nodded at them. "Cssity gatesss sssounds nice." He muttered, trying to keep his volume down as much as possible.
"Who knows? Life is like a roll on the dice. You can’t know if something is a good, or a bad roll until it already happened."

Nidassasyae's head whipped around, instantly on the defensive. Already in a black mood, the wild girl wasn't one to take insults to her friends. "Funny?!" she asked in a dangerous growl, her eyes narrowed into icy blue slits of fury.

She started clenching and unclenching her fists, wondering if she should just eat the boy. The leopardess bared her teeth at the stranger, who presumed to act like a rude little cub. Struggling to reign in her temper, Nidassasyae simply stood her ground and glared. Animals weren't known to control tempers, and the only thing holding the leopard back from taking a bite out of the boy was Nehsmay. She didn't want to disappoint the Vantha. However, if this went on, self control would be flung straight out the window.

Nidae gave a final glare to the stranger, and turned to Seliarus. "When the crowds have gone home, do you want to go and check out the locations that lady gave us?" she asked, her voice back to normal, but her body tensed, as if she were going to turn and pounce on the boy.

Obsevring from her spot, wondering if she should countinue to observe or just leave. Then again lelio wasn't looking to good. Were those bandits suronding him? They weren't acting to hostile, but this was quite counfussing to Tohka. She took a few steps forward forgeting her anger after studing the strange situation. She marched right up to the group gave them all a look, then calmly stated.

"May I ask what is going on here?" Then glancing at lelio she asked. "Are you okay?" Prepared to make a run for it with Lelio if he was being robbed. This was a really strange city, I hope not all of them are like this. She thought to herself.

Unfamiliar Streets (Nehsmay, Seliarus, and Lelio)

Postby Lelio on October 29th, 2010, 6:55 pm

Oddly enough Lelio did not cower away from the threat - as if he didn't realize the meaning in those sharp and uncovered teeth. He kept smiling happily as he went on.

Yes, funny! Funny people are interesting, while others are bo~ring! he hummed merrily while waving his index left and right.

His gaze than turned to Tohka who had been closing in, still looking quite confused although she seemed calm in choosing her words. What a disappointment though, Lelio had hopped she would talk funny like she usually did - about walls and trees and whatever strange things one did not often talk about.

Tohka Tohka look! Now we're four Kelvic! he joyfully mused.

That's sharp teeth lady, probably a hunter like us. This is... Lelio blinked his eyes twice trying to figure out what exactly Seliarus was - mister snake Kelvic? he said in wonder with childish innocence.

And that is Neshmay. I guess she's Vantha, whatever that is, he added while scratching his head, for he had no idea what a "Vantha" was.

Lelio had never been one to show Kelvic attributes, it was hardly possible to recognize him as part of the race without him saying it or turning into a fox. In fact, he only rarely assumed his fox form, finding it too much of a hassle to carry his clothes around in his very diminutive form. Plus, it disabled his ability to speak with other humanoids - and he had to admit it, humanoids were often way more interesting to chat with than animals.
