Character ConceptAlexander Romig is a grief stricken man, known for fits of pure rage where he lives the final moments of his life, lashing his left arm and screaming in pain. While Alexander was not an evil or mischievous man in life, his thirst for retribution has made him an angry and malevolent.
When he is not screaming in grief and rage, Romig will tell his story to passerbys, to warn them to not make the mistakes he did in life; and to finish all grievances before they pass on. Alexander also will help the random stranger if they are in dire need of help.
Character HistoryIn life, Alexander was a leading architect of the Sultros Clan, usually commissioned to build great works for the King and teaching students who traveled to the city for guidance in his line of work. With his right hand, he crafted many designs and models for his buildings. His name was Alexander Steelmind Sultros, and he was proud.
His home life was just as busy as his work life. He had several children and a loving wife, Catherine. His home life was usually private, his kids went on to practice his trade in various cities. Life was going well for this aged architect.
Yet one day, after a day spent designing a great statue to Izurdin, Alexander was ambushed by an old enemy on his walk home. A former soldier who left his post to seek easier money, and whom Alexander had arrested after he caught the renegade with his daughter. The man was known as Jorder Greatspear Sultros, and he had sought his revenge. Jorder and his entourage descended on Alexander, kicking him and beating him until the man was nearly unconscious, that was then they held him down and took his left arm off with a mighty axe.
When Alexander awoke, he was tied to a bed in a temple. Given the best care for his service to the city, his life was saved. Yet seeing that his arm was indeed gone, the very symbol of his hard work and expertise, he went off in a fit of rage. When a family fine then calmed him down and informed him that his beloved wife was missing and the house torn apart, Alexander was lost with grief.
The mighty architect, filled with shame, took a blade and slit his own throat. Seething with vengeance, the ghost denied the afterlife. Deciding it was his fault his wife was lost, and no idea where the villain had gone, Alexander wandered for many years seeking them. It was after many years he arrived in Black Rock, haunting the land for years to come, and going by the name of Alexander Romig so he could forget some of the pain of his mortal life.
