Chamomile, fennel, and nettle for me.

Chamomile: You Are: Easy-going, friendly and well liked, you’ve got a gentle and sweet nature and a calming presence that puts others at ease. Your sensitivity to others may cause you to take on too much of other people’s feelings, though, and you may even be prone to worry.

Fennel: You Are: You’re quiet, sometimes shy, with a tendency to be reserved. You have a humble, kind nature and often find yourself taking care of others. You can be known to hold things in, and you don’t always speak up for yourself. This tendency to hold things in can lead to disturbances.

Nettle: You Are: Truly a nurturing and supportive friend, you’re the kind of person that just isn’t for everyone. But those who take the time are rewarded with your gentle disposition, and the kind of friendship that does a person good no matter the difficulty they’re facing. When out of balance, you can become more prickly than supportive or nurturing, though—a sign that you need to shower yourself with the same kind of nurturing you so freely give to others.

Lian got:

Chamomile, dandelion, and peppermint.

Dandelion: You Are: Scrappy and tough, you’re a pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps kind of person. You don’t give up easily and you often thrive in situations that others would find discouraging. You have an instinct to serve others and see yourself as most useful in times or places of crisis, but you may over rely on your toughness and forget how sensitive you really are.

Peppermint: You Are: Unflappable. You are cool in the crisis, calm in the storm, collected amongst the chaos. You’re a breath of fresh air, a waft of inspiration to the down-and-out, a refreshing, inspiring, uplifting person to be around. Of course, even a cool cucumber like yourself can run into trouble. You may try to take on too much, which can leave you feeling weighed down and not quite yourself.

The chamomile aspect surprised me a bit until I thought of how he views his family. He can be stubborn, hard, and set in his ways at times, but to those he loves, he's a giant teddy bear. XD

Hi guys!

I am thinking I'm going to begin fleshing Kailey out a bit more, and introduce her to some culture. I was thinking she would begin to develop faith in a god or two, and things of that nature. If anyone would be interested in something like this, feel free to pm me. Thank you.

It is very, very close to season roll over and I just wanted to remind you all to:

1. Pay your seasonal expenses, poor, common, etc.
2. Get your wage requests in (with finished threads please!).
3. Get your job application or request for job changes in.
4. Make sure you have removed silver chest items from your possessions (these are the items you gifted to the chest and should no longer exist in your character’s inventory).
5. Send me a brief PM with your character goals for fall (this just gives me an idea of how I can best help you next season).
6. Set your placeholders for any important planned threads (please don’t set placeholders you don’t indent to use; I’ve gone back through the history of the city and seen placeholders from months ago that still aren’t touched).

That being said, I want to reinforce and reiterate a few things with you that have been major issues (in my mind at least) in the last few weeks and especially in the last month.

If an event in the calender is 'claimed' then its ran by those people that claim it. It's not then OPEN to anyone else unless they get in contact with the people that claim it. First come first serve, but you can only claim one at a time to prevent hogging. I will start designating open events that can't be claimed but can be reacted too such as storms or wildfires that might effect the whole region with an *.

These rules still stand

I've noticed two double claimed events this season and I don't want to see it happen this fall, so from here on out:

1. I will slap an intervention on doubled up events and you will be forced to re-write / change the plot, idea, or story. If you want to work on an event people have already claimed, PM them (It’s called collaborative writing for a reason).
2. You can only claim one event at a time (unless it is a moderated event), and that event must be completed before you begin work on another. (You can work in a moderated event as well as the one you have claimed)
3. You must post within 24 hours of claiming the event and attach a link to the thread in your claim post.
4. Events cannot be solos unless you get special permission; you must either use OPEN, or PM TO JOIN; (If //PM TO JOIN// and there are three or more players participating in an event, they can refuse to let you join).
5. You cannot PLACEHOLD events.
6. Moderated events will end on the last day of any given season whether they are finished or not.
7. You do not have to participate, you are free to use the calendar for your own ideas and stories; I love and encouraged creative, rich storylines with interesting, long-reaching plots. However, it is important that you don’t dream up any disasters, weather patterns, or occurrences that will clash with the events posted that affect anyone other than yourself.

H E L L O!

YAY! We managed to get the Grading Request Thread from 11 pages, down to 2!
Well done everyone!

Hello Horse Lords and Ladies! I just want to apologise for being a bit grumpy lately, I can only put it down to over working myself while being sick. I start back at work this week, which means I’ll be quiet for three days but you can expect your calendar for fall on time!

Some good news! We have two PCs moving from Riverfall to Endrykas for the season of fall (very exciting and a big warm welcome to you both!). Ruari has started playing in Endrykas and I’ve already noticed great things! Shahar has returned to smash us with his awesomeness, and I expect the lovely Khida will soon be with us again! It’s excellent that we are growing but as a result, I am not going to be able to keep on top of the grading requests as well as I have been, especially since a lot of you have been power-posting and making me feel a little overwhelmed! (in a good way of course! I’m always happy to see so much activity in Endrykas!).

The down side is… I really need some help guys! And that means graders. If you take a lot from writing here, it would be nice to see some of you ‘put back into the pot’. I don’t want to pressure anyone, but even one or two grades each a week would help me out so much! If you have thought about becoming a grader but you aren’t confident about handing out grades, I am more than happy to support you until you feel ready to tackle them with the best of us!

Ideally I would love to be focusing on running events, learning how wages work/ jobs / are awarded, Storyteller Secrets, running Gnosis threads, developing locations, lore, and giving Endrykas a big clean up! But I can’t focus on all of these things if I am the only person grading. I’d love to be able to read people’s posts as they are posted and work on random little appearances in your threads, be it as an NPC, Animals, Boom of thunder, etc, but there is so much work in the grading que that the only time I get to read your stuff is when I’m grading it, and for me, that’s not ideal.

Every little bit helps and I am so thankful every time one of you steps up and takes the time to help out!

Lately some of you have been sending me some Private Messages that I don’t have the answers to and I am getting some really weird vibes coming through the messages with you getting either frustrated, sarcastic, or angry with me for not giving you the answers you want. You have to remember that I have only been playing Mizahar for five or six months now and there is a hell of a lot to learn. I’m still learning, if I don’t know the answer to something I won’t make it up to keep you happy, instead I will go and personally find out what the correct answer is and get back to you asap; so please try not to lose your cool with me and add to the stress and strain I am already feeling.

I think sometimes we forget that we’re dealing with real people who are giving up a lot of their own time to make our time online more enjoyable. Currently I work 42 hours a week and I dedicate at least the same amount of time, if not more (which I’m sure it is) to Mizahar. I don’t get paid to grade your work, answer your messages, or deal with your frustration (which is usually pointed at me). So please be patient, put your nice hat on, and try to remember that I’m doing this for you guys and for my love of Endrykas.

/rant

[OOC thread] Moving with the Herd

Postby Gossamer on August 30th, 2015, 3:50 pm

I just want to touch on what Tribal is saying here a bit. It truthfully has SUCKED being him for the last three months because he has had an inattentive RS/Founder to deal with and I can attest he's had to wait sometimes three, four, five days for responses while I've been dealing with my irl shit. And it doesn't help when my answer are often "This is a fantasy setting. It does not resemble real life." Because evidently he's been getting a lot of questions that have to deal with The Sea of Grass itself and why things are why and since I've written almost none of the why things are why down, he has no clue.

That's hard on a guy. He's still new. He's also single-handedly been grading a huge amount of grades throughout the game and I can feel his frustration when no matter how much someone does, the players act in a way that indicate it's not enough.

I've heard the rumors. I've seen the talk. The fact is people can get really mean when the truth is they are simply jealous. Unless you are part of the staff, you may never understand how busy being a staff member is. And even that depends upon where you roam. Cyphrus staff are BUSY just like Syliras Staff are while say Sahova staff might have little to nothing to do but grade a few threads. It's all relative.

So think before you speak. And if you have truly in depth questions about Cyphrus, I made a Q&A Thread where one or both of us (Tribal and I) can jump in and answer these questions as they come up. Post all your questions there. It will help us tremendously to not be answering them over and over again but once in a place everyone can read them.

Now, for my final thought. Endrykas and the Sea of Grass RP currently still exists because of Tribals dedication. Without him, we'd be in a world of hurt and would have been all the months ago he volunteered. Endrykas would be closed. Remember that. The same goes for every staffer on here that's busting it to keep their city busy. Not all of these domains will be so lucky.

So you might take a moment to say thank you once in a while instead of offer up animosity like so many of you can do. You might not realize it, but I've seen it a thousand times... the argumentative questions, the inquiries full of snark. No one has to be on staff. A lot of times it can be hellishly fun, but then you have to deal with the players and often they make it thankless and unforgiving.

Like Tribal was saying, there's a human behind each account. Remember that and treat them accordingly.

Admittedly, I am very new here. But if any of you will take the time to go through some grading with me, I would be happy to step up and help out in that regard.

If it's still too quick for me to be considered for being a grader, then I completely understand. Though I will be pressing to get the time in and to learn the process all the same as it is my intention to give back to this community.

I wouldn't be here without the urging and understanding of others on this site to help and guide me. To those of you that have committed your time and teachings, please know that I appreciate you and everything you do.

I want to say that I appreciate the way you really seem to have thrown yourself into Endrykas, Tribal. What's this here bad mood you mention, for I have not seen it! As an AS you're entitled to be assertive! I know I've only felt courteous, driven, approachable vibes, not to mention a pleasure to write with.

I think we're really lucky to have ya. Take care of yourself too, though, yeah? "No one can serve from an empty cup", or something like that -

ps.- my application for grader is underway, hope to be helping soon!
