H E L L O!

Few of you have asked how I plan to work the moderated threads this season, so here goes! I will start with the wild horses, because I know how excited some of you are about getting your hands on a new pony! But first, I need to do a bit of work and write up something for the Q&A about horses as I realised, while I grew up around horses, rode most of my life and had a lot to do with training difficult animals, some of you have let on that you’ve never even touched a horse let alone ridden one, so I’d like to go over some of my expectations in that area when it comes to writing.

But back to Moderated Threads! Moderated means, I will design and post the opening scene, anyone who wants to be involved needs to apply at my office so that I have somewhere to keep all of the information safe. Sending me a PM sometimes get overlooked as I receive many messages day in and day out, so it’s easy for me to misplace info. I will be starting the first Moderated thread in two weeks, or as soon as the summer’s main thread is completed.

The next big moderated thread is the visit from ‘The Dark One’. I will let a large number of you join this if you wish, usually my limit is three but as we are starting the threads a lot easier this season, we have the time to work with everyone that’s interested.

Sub-moderated; this is a lot like the silver chest event. You post your part and I will post the vision [if Caiyha wants you to see a vision that is, you never know!]. I would like this one to start on 30th September. Rather than running individual threads like we did with the silver chest, it will just be one big one that people can come and go from.

Great news! I have a lot more time on my hands, which means I can run individual or group side quests for people, including playing an NPC to help you train, fight, hunt, etc. Of course I still have to keep up with grading and help train our newest grader! But I am going to try and make myself a lot more available to work with so if you have an idea or plot that you need me to help with or play a part in, submit a request to my office and I will start planning with you ASAP!

Thanks for all the encouragement this week, and I hope everyone has found something that suits them on this season’s calendar! All the best; here’s to a great season!

Hey guys! When I was doing some research on writing about horses (Tribal's post got me concerned on how little I actually knew) I found this site: lrgaf.org/guide/writers-guide.htm I've been finding it rather useful - lot's of simple information, so I though I'd put it out here for others to see too.

Wages and Job Applications

I’ve gone through and spent a lot of time this morning awarding your wages and jobs. I sent everyone a PM regarding the details, changes, or awards. Please make sure that if you were award special XP that is it clearly marked on your CS. If you have any questions or concerns about your job or wage, feel free to send me a PM.

I want to just touch on something quickly and that is word count. If I have to spend extra time copying your posts into word to make sure you have the 2500 words you need for a job thread, it’s a big waste of my time and probably means that some of you need to do a little extra work this season. Job threads can be a lot of fun, so get creative and make sure the majority of the thread is about your PC doing their job, not so much travel time and socialisation. I read these threads to make sure they are what they should be, and some of them are fantastic, while others seem very hurried.

You have three months to blow my socks off; I’ve seen some of you do that in two days. Don’t leave it till last minute, and remember its not a race!

On a side note, I still owe you a little write up about what I expect for working with horses and what the differences in price means. I promise I am working on this so please try not to flood me with private messages until then!

We have a lot of players registered for Endrykas this season which is super exciting! I can’t wait to work with you all and if any of you need me to run an NPC for you this fall remember to apply to my office. At this stage I have a lot of time on my hands but that could change later so get in quick as first come, first served!

I’m going to be updating you all in a day or two on how the auction will work. I’ve had lots of messages from people interested in different animals so I’ve come up with a fun idea that might make it a little more interesting!

How is "In The Dark" going? When you need me to take a look at that just give me a poke.

Cheers,

T

[OOC thread] Moving with the Herd

Postby Kyo on September 5th, 2015, 11:06 pm

Hello! My PC Kyo is new to Endrykas. I was wondering if anyone was willing to let him bunk in their pavilion/tent instead of having to purchase his own (he's not very worldly, and any tent he purchased would probably have to be left behind should he leave the city). He doesn't take up much room (wouldn't even need a bed, as he's a coyote) and would be willing to do chores and help out in whatever way the PC's wanted, or maybe pay rent (though admittedly he has very little money). I caution, however, that he doesn't speak Common well, and doesn't really know any Pavi at all, though he'll likely be working on becoming more communicative. But please, PM if anyone is interested! Thanks!

Hey there endrykans! I am just moving here from riverfall, for at least two seasons. Zephari is a character that is familiar with survival within the deserts, but has basically no experience with a place like the sea of grass. Is there anyone that is willing to assist her in the ways of not dying out here? Also I welcome all thread ideas, as long as they are at least interesting enough to be more than just simple conversation. I look forward to getting to know you all!

Wages and Seasonal Living Costs

Hey guys and girls. I've had a few PMs asking about seasonal expenses. Some of you are confused as to how they work. Basically, every season that you do any writing in you will need to pay seasonal expenses, or living costs if you prefer.

These are as follows:

5gm a season (you basically live on the street and beg for food and are possibly very ill), 45gm (poor, a little better than squalor, but still struggling, either on your first full wage or just about there. You're thin, sickly, but doing a lot better), and 135gm (common, this is the amount you must pay if you're earning a full wage. You're healthy, living rather well, and don't tend to get sick as often as you used to).

If you don't understand what 'full wage' means, if I sent you a PM recently awarding wages for the season (especially this summer gone), I expect you to pay 135gm for your living expenses.

If you do not, guess what, I have the power to strike you down the the plague, infected sores, spots where you don't want spots, etc, etc, you get my drift. You know who else I'm extending this power to? My lovely Endrykas graders. That's right, my pretties, I have eyes everywhere, big brother is watching, (was that menacing enough? I don't know I'm laughing too much to tell).

So by the thunder of Zulrav! Pay your living costs properly or I will sneak into your tents and rubs frogs all over your feet in the hope that they pass on their nasty little warts. That is all.

:D

Cheers,

T

[Event 41st] Some like it Hot
How things will work

Hello, ello.

A lot of you have PMed showing interest in the same animals which made me come up with a fun idea I think will keep things fair. Everyone willing to participate in the auction has to send me a PM telling me exactly which animals they’re interested in bidding on and what is the maximum bid they are willing to place.

For example:

Saron Earthshadow
No. 118: 4.5 GM
No. 3: 5 GM
No. 190: 12 GM
No. 22: 51.5 GM
No. 440: 91 GM
No. 393: 62.2 GM

The opening post will summarise a lot of the individual bids and any winners of animals that no one else was interested in bidding on. The lowest the Auctioneer will take for an animal is half its normal value, for example, a purebred Strider can go for as little as 75 GM, Colour Splash for as little as 45 GM, Mixed Blood Horse 50 GM, a calf for 2.5 GM, and a cow for 7.5 GM, etc.

If no one bids on an animal it will be ‘sold’ to an NPC at the auction. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me. If someone submits the same ‘max bid’ as you on the same animal, it will start an IC bidding war in the thread with the auctioneer starting at the lowest possible bid which your PCs will have to bid for. If you submit the highest bid in PM you will automatically win that animal.

Enjoy!

Update

I’ve had a few of you ask about max bids in the auction and had the night to think about it, so I’m getting back to you here! If you’re the highest bidder, but your bid outdoes the last person by more than 5gm, (say 67 was the bid below you and you offered 79, you will only pay 72gm for that animal), a lot of you have offered the exact same amount on some of the animals so it should prove to be a really interesting thread!

Postby Ruari Darkwind on September 10th, 2015, 9:49 am

Hi, Endrykas!

I've recently accepted and begun training for a job to deal blackjack and my hours are late-night, which chews into my posting time. Until I get settled to this, and then later into shift work, my replies may be a bit slower.

Write on.

Hello all! I feel like I recently read something with a PC here in the city crafting wooden beads, and I'm looking for that PC, because Naiya needs to buy some.
