Don't think so Orxan. If you're not making money sooner or later you will run out and not be able to pay seasonal expenses. Look at the link map for NPCs your character can work for, and possible job ideas. I'm keen on the watch which we don't know too much about but I know a couple of other Drykas players are too if that is something you'd be interested in exploring together with us.

You can also look at the price list in the lore for job ideas and small explanations.

Hi there everyone!! :D

I am looking for a few threading partners in Endrykas :D
Some possible flashbacks, maybe even one on the 512 Djed Storm? :)
I would be interested in doing a flashback, if anyone is interested in teaching my PC some webbing and linking her into the web? I would really appreciate it :)

I was also thinking of getting a group thread going in Endrykas as according to the event calender there's a fire coming, so I think it could be really fun to get everyone involved and meeting each other through that? :)

Am basically interested in getting some great threads going, past or present, so please don't hesitate to PM me if your interested! :)

Hi, Ethynia!

As a native Drykas, Ethynia should already be linked to the Web. That is distinct from being able to use Webbing.

We, which is to say the Dawnwhispers, had been tossing around the thought of doing a thread for the wildfire as well. I just PMed the other two a couple hours ago to find out where we stand on that. One way or another, we should coordinate!

I don't have much room for additional threads this season, but I look forward to seeing you around Endrykas!

Yeah I was thinking that, although thought it might be fun to flashback into her childhood and possibly with someone else into theirs and go through their discovery of the web? Or is it that they are born with the link? :) (also thank you for your advice :3)

Aww yes! Yes we should! It would be a really good way to get everyone who's active this Spring together and meeting etc But if the other's get back to you then definitely don't hesitate to PM me :D

And sure, maybe see you around next season? And we could get a thread going then perhaps? We'll see :) hehe

From the Drykas lore:

All Ankal are required to know webbing and often connect their family members to a family web.

And from the Webbing lore:

...Arin taught others his art form starting with the Ankals of Endrykas, they soon wove not only their loved ones into the weave but added their precious horses... Whenever a child was born or a foal birthed, they too were tied into the web. Lost children became easily found. Relatives could send messages, and even keep tabs on people far distant.

And of course the web ties [Striders] to their riders even further. If a Drykas say was never tied into the web by their Ankal, then they wouldn’t bond so easily.

That Pavilion-level tie is what's generally referred to as being "linked" to the Web. Pavilion members, horses, livestock, essentially anything whatsoever that an Ankal wants and needs to keep track of, he will link into the family web, which is in turn connected to the overall Web. It is not technically inborn so far as I know -- although Drykas do tend to reincarnate as Drykas because of the Web, so something does seem to carry over -- but a child born to a Pavilion will most likely be linked to the web within days of birth, if not the day of.

As I said, that's not the same as being able to use Webbing. You have to be actively drawn into the weave to begin to perceive Webbing and be able to use it. Just being linked -- you might think of it as having an invisible-ink stamp placed. ;) It's there but you don't really know anything of it.

Hi Guys.

Just a heads up. I'll be posting some basic Codex stuff today... a new link map, and consolidating some trash posts in Endrykas. I've been holding out for someone who wanted to gut the city and work on it, but in two years I have to face the fact if I want it to look professional and not be a hot fucking mess, I really should do it myself like I did with Wind Reach and Riverfall.

To that end, some of you have been waiting on information on The Watch. There will be a nice basic writeup in the codex and placed in the wiki with job titles, descriptions of work they do, qualifications and pay. That's why some of you have been left hanging waiting answers for jobs. I had to do a lot of digging and consolidate a lot of ex-ST work to get the writeup going.

The Codex will look a great deal like Riverfall's format wise. If you want to see anything specific included let me know. After that goes up, I can finalize jobs with all of you waiting to work for the watch.

Jen

Ah-ha! That makes a lot more sense to me. Thank you so much for elaborating Khida! :D I think i just got a little confuddled with difference of the use of webbing and the link, but that makes more sense to me now, so thank you :)

And whooo Gossamer, that would be awesome, thanks so much :)

But yeah, I'm always excited for development, as you know so if you need any extra help with anything, I'll write some things or find some pictures. ;)

Hi! It's been a while since I rp'd and I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. :)

Though I have to say, this place looks so much busier than the last time I was here! (And of course all the big event that made me have to reread all the lores happened after I left. My luck holds true.)

If anyone is free to RP this last month of spring, let me know.
