Season Change Issues!

As some of you might know, I've been incredibly sick most of the last season to the point I was not functional irl let alone on Miz. This has mostly resolved so we are moving forward and I'm gearing back up to do some serious writing both as a moderator and as a PC. I have started thinking of Fall as something of a lost season for me. And I regret that I have missed out on NaNo as well because its something I've always done.

Then, there's a promise I made to all of you when no seasonal calendar went up and no incentives for being in Riverfall happened last season. That promise was something like 'I'll make it up to you.'

So this is a forewarning of that very thing indeed happening. Winter is going to be absolutely Magical for Riverfall. We still have some unresolved business left from the last big season (Summer) where there was a lot of mischief out and about due to something no one quite managed to discover in thread. That is going to continue on into Winter.

How?

Well, first off, let me say participation in this event is going to be OPTIONAL. But if you are willing, each and every one of you is going to develop a superpower of your choosing. Yes. Think Mutants. Think X-Men. Think original and unique. There will be rules. First and foremost, this power is only going to last for the duration of the season UNLESS.... unless something special happens and thats something I will talk about at the end of this message.

The rules will be simple. You can't have a superpower or mutation that allows you to manipulate the actions or thoughts of other PCs. For example. You can't read minds. Why? Because then you would get to assign thoughts to others. That's not going to happen. All superpower mutations will have to be approved through me. We'll start a thread about it in the Behind The Waterfall. Third, it has to be something that can be rp'd in a fantasy realism setting that isn't going to violate the other rules and ToU of Mizahar. IE. You can't have something that causes you to GodRP. These will be a little like Konti gifts.

Now... that thing I didn't want to talk about until the end? Its simple. If you can write 50,000 words on your PC IC in the month of December, there's a better than 80% chance you can keep your superpower. That 20% chance of loosing it would be due to abuse, it causing problems in game, or other issues.

And if you solve the reason why everyone's mutating (that wants too) then you get a very very special prize at the end of the season. This will involve me being SUPER ACTIVE in Riverfall and being all over your threads. I hope you can handle that.

I've really enjoyed reading the Character Registry posts so far. I'm starting to think we need an "Identity Crisis Anon" Support group though. Anyhow, I just wanted to post a little tidbit here about my schedule so you'll know when to expect PMs or activity.

My co-worker got seriously injured Sunday Night at work so hes out for the next three weeks or more. I suspect it will be well after the first of the year before he's back. I can't complain too much because he got hurt in almost the same fashion I did when I broke four bones in my foot and was out eight weeks. Hopefully some yard safety issues at work will get addressed and we'll get some stuff handled and safer irl. However, since that happened my job has had to rearrange everyone's work schedules to sort of fill the gaps. I got moved from my three am-noon shift and am now working noon to nine pm. Since I'm on the west coast, that means posting in the mornings, answering PMs then, and super late at night for the rest of the world.

Sorry for any inconvenience. I know you're used to me being around in the early evenings, but they really needed someone to cover part of Swing's job to keep some less than desirable work practices from happening that currently are. Meaning, I'm in 'retraining' mode for the current staff on those shifts while I'm there. Ugh.

Anyhow... we're going to have some threads go up that you are welcome to join as city PCs. You know them when you see them and I will of course announce here in this thread. Maybe together we can get to the heart of the weirdness that is going on in Riverfall.

The calendar will be posted shortly.. either today or tomorrow morning. It's rather elaborate so it might take me a bit longer to finish than normal. I owe some posts as my pc so I want to get those taken care of too.

Yes! I do want a superpower in Winter of 515! is up. It is definitely first come first serve and I'm going to try not to approve any duplicate situations. I'd like to see a huge variety of things happen for people and I know I'm taking my time thinking of one for my own PC as well. I kinda leaned towards something aquatic for a Konti, but deciding isn't easy!

So... get your requests in! I want to see how varied and unique people can be.

I'm new to Mizahar, and I'll be joining you in Riverfall for about a season or so. It's nice to meet you all. This superpower endeavour looks quite interesting, but it may take a while to come up with something unique though . . . Akvatari can't wear their underwear on the outside of their pants sadly :\ they don't have pants.

I just wanted to post a quick update. Not everyone will see this here so I'll post it in RF too.

I'm making Sunday my designated Miz day to get things done. I have a lot going on this week with my unplanned schedule change at work and having to represent my work by driving a semi-truck in a local parade on Saturday. So my plan is to slowly work on the HD Catchup the rest of the week concluding that by Saturday evening and Sunday doing some Grading after posting the complete RF calendar for Winter AND a thread people can join into that's moderated. Crazy will ensue in that thread, but it will give you superpower pcs the chance to intro your gifts if you haven't already... so get your superpowers turned in stat. Not everyone's going to get approval, but I've liked a lot of what I've seen so far.
