Name: Aldhran age:19 date of birth 495 summer Sex:male Race: Human History: Aldhran comes from a long line of farmers who can trace their linage back to the founding of the syliras. As the story is told. Generations ago when the warriors who would became the knights came to the coast on the suvan sea and build their citadel. Their great grandfather was there was well. Some renditions of the story say that he was a knight who valiantly helped defend the citadel when it was under construction. Other times he was a laborer who cared not for wind or rain as he build the walls. Or he was a hunter of the wilds. Feeding the men with his catches and being welcomed into the citadel later. Some storeies even whisper about darker things, their forefather dabbling in magic or a former disciple of a dark god before he converted to the thinking of the knights. Though those latter stories are usually only told when the children are asleep and the audience is too boozed up to take it seriously. Either way, the only thing the stories have in common is that eventually after his (mis)adventures their progenitor settled down in the newly finished syliras as a farmer. The rest of the family staying true to their roots. With only the occasional one joining the knights. Aldhran is the latest of those potential knights. His father and mother however, refused to let hmi join the knights as a squire when he turned 13. They needed him at the harvest, as his younger siblings weren't able to make up for the laber they would lose. At least that's the reason they stated, he always suspected that they hoped he would settle down with the nice daughter of their neighbors and just live out a simple life with plenty of grandkids for them to dote on when they were older. He would rather become a castrati then do that though. The daughter was a shrew of the highest calibre and if he ever married her in a fit of madness. She would drive him insane all over again. To bad that neither of their parents shared his thoughts and put htem together from time to time. Hoping something would spark. Aldhran wasn't even able to get a girlfriend of his own to ward of his parents. The girls of his age already knew of his incident, so they didn't buy it when he tried explaining the cause away as something much more heroic. And most weren't really interested in somebody who had a rather gross scar covering half his face without it being a proof of the man's courage. In desperation he even hit on a few female squire's and knights (don't laugh. He rightfully guessed they wouldn't give a damn about the scar.) But they turned him down. They probably could smell his desperation. Or thought he was too young. Aldhran doesn't speak about the incident and usually gives you an outright lie about how he got it. Or when pressed further, just keeps it as vague as possible. The only things that are sure to be true, is that he got it when he was younger, it involved something sharp and he is still mildly uncomfortable around blacksmiths and forges up till this day. It probably also was his fault, since till this day he doesn't dare to touch anything in a forge without being told he is allowed to. When his second youngest sibling became 14 and was more then able to help out. The excuse that they would lose labor didn't hold any more water, that and his parents accepted the fact that if he was still jumping to be a knight after all this time. He probably won't grow out of it. So he gathered up his things and took the next caravan to the citadel of syliras and on the 89th of fall 514 he joined the knighthood as a squire. |
