Closing the door behind her Aliara saw that the snow on the ground had turned into a slush, winter was losing its hold, smiling she began to put all the bad things that had happened in winter at back of her mind and began to smile upon the good things in life. Training being a big part of the in the last day or so, Aliara had worked on her Flexibility and she could happily say she was still feeling it deep within her muscles.

Rubbing her gloved hands together Aliara readied herself to jog out to the docks, today Aliara had decided she would work on her balance and what more motivation to stay balanced then the freezing cold bay? Inhaling deeply Aliara began to jog slowly making sure to watch her speed and where she walked, she did not feel like slipping again.

It seemed like forever as she made her way through the streets and crowds, her muscles had began to spark from yesterdays stretching and Aliara found herself running out of breath. Stopping just a few streets from the docks Aliara braced herself against the side of someones house. Closing her eyes she began to breath slowly attempting to calm her heart back to its normal rate. As her breath slowly returned to her and her heart slowly stopped trying to escape her chest Aliara began a slow power walk rather than a run that would probably kill her.

The smell of the salt and fish had hit her before she even turned into the main part of the docks. It made her smile and bring old memories of waiting for her father, the ships that were slowly starting to defrost and make the journeys that had been cut short were huge and magnificent. Aliara had always been amazed at how people set out into the seas all on a whim or in search for a new experience in a different city.

Slipping in and out of the crates and nets that littered the boardwalks and jette's, Aliara picked one of the piers without as many boats and the ones that were tried up weren't in use. Stopping in front of one of the poles Aliara dropped her bag and Smiled. These posts were what held everything up, going into the earth and offering the support that Aliara would need to be reassured that it wouldn't snap underneath her. Slowly climbing to the top Aliara balanced on the thin post and closed her eyes. Breathing in and out slowly, Aliara focused on her balance and focused on her feet.

Chimes ticked away and her legs began to cramp, they shook and shiver hot from the strain and cold from the weather. Aliara found herself wishing that she had chosen a less rough post. Closing her eyes she breathed in deeply and held for a few moments then exhaled, she had to remember the consequences if she was to lose her balance, a quick dip into the icy waters. Lifting one leg Aliara opened her eyes and stretched her arms out to balance herself, touching one finger to her nose Aliara held that position even as a sailor walked past slowly glaring at her.

“Eh? Whatchuwant?! can’t a girl touch her nose in public anymore?”

Poking out her tongue, Aliara watched as the sailor rolled his eyes and continued walking, yeah she showed him. Losing her balance for a moment Aliara wobbled and her arms fluttered in attempt to keep her balance. Putting her foot back down Aliara waited until she was comfortable enough to lift her other leg and begin to stand once again. Her left leg was always the hardest to balance on, this was proven by the wobbles that happened again and again each time Aliara would have to put her leg down and start all over again.

As the bell drew to an end Aliara could feel the burn in her muscles and the boredom seeping into her mind. Standing here for a bell was beginning to seem like a dumb idea. looking at the other posts Aliara considered the chances of her jumping from one to the next, it was a bit of a distance but there was the water to encourage her…

Inhaling deeply Aliara attempted to relax herself as she turned slowly to face the other post, shaking out her hands slightly Aliara swung her arms as more momentum and lept. She was soaring through the air, i was wonderful, the slight breeze picking up stands of her hair but it ended too soon as Aliara landed with a thud on the next post. As her body kept going forward Aliara waved her arms around again attempting to balance herself out. For chimes she struggled with her balance, either leaning forward or backwards. Finally Aliara regained her balance and smiled with satisfaction, she had done it.

Lifting one leg up Aliara closed her eyes once again and focused on her breathing, breath in, breath out it was simple in theory but Aliara found that it always steadied her body and her mind making it easier for her to find her balance. Opening her eyes Aliara watched the bustling docks and frowned slightly wondering what she looked like to them, a girl balancing on a post on one leg? she must seem insane. Yet as she stood on the post she began to wonder what else she could do, just standing here seemed to be fairly easy and a waste of time, reaching down to her toes Aliara began to consider things that would make this harder for her making it about furthering herself rather than maintaining her skill.

She could feel her muscles stretching as Aliara pushed herself to touch her toes but she began to think of something else. A handstand Aliara had done one in years but it would be fun to try and balance on her hands once more, when she was little she used to be able to walk around however that was a long time ago and she was a lot smaller back then. Standing back Aliara jumped off the post and smiled, she could at least attempt it can't go as bad as the day before hand. Rubbing her palms on her pants Aliara attempted to dry them as best as she could before crouching and placing them on the rough wood of the dock. Arching her back and pushing up with her feet Aliara managed to get up into the position however once she was at full height her feet slowly began to drift back to the ground. It was a great attempt, she manage to stretch her legs out for even if the moment she did Aliara began to fall down.

Pushing off with her feet again Aliara relaxed and focused on her centre of balance, once she got that under control she should be able to do a great handstand but yet again Aliara could feel her weight falling forward, maybe it was because she had more weight in the front? starting once again Aliara made sure to focus on leaning backwards slightly, since she kept falling forwards if she was to stop that Aliara might have a chance to stay balanced, well she hopped. it worked, she waved from one side to the other but she did eventually even out. Her hair fell in curls around her and Aliara could feel the blood rushing to her head and arms. Braving through the pressure in her arms Aliara managed to hold her handstand for a chime. Crashing onto the docks Aliara felt a smile crept onto her face, she had manage a handstand, a bad one but one none the less.

Rolling onto her back she smiled and looked up at the sky. It was beautiful, how Aliara would like to see it from the ocean on rolling ocean like her father. Maybe he would return from his trip the next season? Aliara smiled again, it would be great to have him back home and maybe Aliara would have him stay with her.

Watching the movement on the docks was almost hypnotic, the bustle of everyone walking around doing their jobs. Aliara laid on the docks watching for a while, not thinking about much just taking the time to wind down and breathe, before sitting back up and crawling to her pack. Her back was complaining about the crash but Aliara ignored it as best she could as she shouldered her pack and stood back up.

Aliara had one of three choices; go for her dinner early, run home or take the long way and walk. Shrugging to herself Aliara began a slow jog towards the sunset quarter. While she jogged Aliara thought of all the things that she could do to increase her acrobatics many of them caused her to groan internally. It was going to be a lot of work even what she had done earlier was barely anything she was only practicing her jumps.

Her feet pounded against the ground with a continuous rhyme that clattered against the Sunberthian streets. With the season nearing closer to spring more people could be seen wandering the streets, even in some cases sitting outside their houses. As Aliara slowed to a walk she could feel her heart pounding through her chest and her breath burning her throat. The common castle’s stalls had began stocking more spring themed items such as bright coloured clothes and some late winter harvests.

Cringing slightly at the colours Aliara continued to look around at the change that was happening. The change in season was something Aliara loved to observe, the vendors changing their stocks more people in the streets, or less depending on the season. Smiling to herself Aliara began to jog again. The burning in her lungs fired again but she took it as a good sign that she was getting fitter. Today had been a success.
