It was clear that Waisana was giving the girl the opportunity to think about things that hadn't occurred to her before. The doctor grimaced in sympathy at the mention of onions, understanding how unfortunate that must be for the girl. The pungent bulbs were a handy food to use as they could be found growing wild, they could add great flavour to cooking and they had some applications in healing as well. They were common enough that the teen was likely to come in contact with them on a regular basis which obviously wasn't good for her nausea at all.
"You will have to avoid them. Difficult but you can do it," she reassured Seirei. She made to grab the other's hand to give it a squeeze but froze as she thought better of it, letting her hands fall back. There was no sense in forcing herself on the other too soon as it was still the early days of their renewed friendship. There was such a thing as being too enthusiastic and given the time she'd missed, she knew that she was trying to overcompensate for her absence. The girl didn't need her comfort over the fact that onions made her feel sick. She had obviously been dealing with it up to now and she was more than capable of continuing. It was just a matter of managing to keep food down and she'd agree to do that and would use the tips that Drykas teen had given her.
The young matron was more than capable of pulling herself together on her own and she even had it in her to help Waisana out by providing her with the word that she had failed to find. Coworkers, colleagues, they must mean more or less the same thing in the Common language and she trusted that Seirei had grasped what she'd wanted to say well enough to provide her with the right terms. She stored them away, nodding slowly as she repeated them silently.
Her simple question seemed to throw Seirei over the edge. What should have led to a simple answer instead resulted in a flood of words and emotions as the girl spilled all her thoughts. It was a rant, it was the outpouring of her soul and it was clear that there was no stopping her flow of speech. There was no filtering of what she was saying and so Waisana knew that she was being told things that the other didn't intend for her to know. Stopping her wouldn't achieve anything, aside from drawing her attention to what she was letting slip and it was obvious that she needed to get it out of her system. Better to let it run its course and she continued to think that even as Seirei started crying. The teen stood unsure of what to do, not knowing whether she should risk an embrace or not. Now was a time that the other needed comfort rather than having the doctor hold back, but she still doubted herself. Was it wise? Should she just try to calm her with words?
"Seirei, it's all right. Not everyone looks at you like that," she assured her, taking tentative steps forward so that the other young woman had the opportunity to back away if she wanted to do so. "This will not be forever. Lian... he is starting to see you as being like us. He knows that what he is doing is wrong but... I cannot explain properly in Common. He wants you to be Drykas though. He wants you to learn and have a chance to bond with Strider," she explained, stepping closer and attempting to throw her arms around the other to embrace her.
"You are not alone. I am your friend. I will help where I can. Others will see you as I do. You are not alone and Lian will leave you alone during the seasons after the birth. I will make sure. He will listen to me. If I say you need, baby needs then he will listen. I think he cares... in his own way. Still wrong in the head. Crazy." The teen made shushing noises, trying to comfort and calm her. If she allowed her, she would hold the other against her shoulder and hold her close.
"Cry all you need."
