“You dagger in water, where you try throw at m -”

The Eypharian’s gaze only briefly glanced in the direction of the pool. Of course she had that one, but the petching Zith had taken the other one from her. Partway through her tirade of questions the Zith seemed to relax, soften almost. It momentarily caught her off guard particularly when the creature made the strangest gesture with its claws brushing up on her arm. Yet in moments she felt repulsed by the claws against her skin and her hostile threats continued.

Again it began stroking her. Was stroking the right word? She broke away from his deep red gaze and looked at his claw that was doing the ‘stroking’ or ‘petting’. For a moment she felt outraged at being treated like a pet, and yet he was not drawing blood or leaving a single scratch.

And then the Zith finally responded to her threat, yet without a hint of malice or cunning. Could he be lying? Why would he think the knights would spare him and potentially kill her? But what surprised and confused her the most was his use of the word ‘sorry’. She was acutely aware that in her moment of confusion she was most susceptible to an attack from the winged creature. And yet it didn’t come.

“The knights try to kill me?” She asked incredulously. Had he somehow associated himself with them? By the honor and word of a Zith? And yet it didn’t seem as though he was trying to kill her or bind her or capture her.

“If… if you make even the slightest move to attack, I swear by all the gods and goddesses that I’ll tear you apart piece by piece.” She said darkly. That is of course, if she managed to get the upper hand again. If all this had been a ruse… well it would have been a stupid ruse if he had let her get the knife against his back. A ruse gone wrong? She tried not to think about it too much as she slowly lifted the blade away from his back.

The Eypharian also slowly moved her other arms away. Her low left still held the knife but it was no longer wrapped around the creature and similarly her low right arm had withdrawn. After a couple of steps back she no longer had any contact with the Zith for he had not tried to restrain her other arms. She could now acutely feel the cold seeping into her open coat. Whether she had not noticed it before because of her panic or because of the warmth the creature provided, she wasn't sure. Sayana shivered at the thought.

“You should go.”

A Slice of Terror… With Bunnies on the Side (Treachery)

Postby Treachery on February 24th, 2015, 12:26 pm

Her face fascinated the Zith was it bled from anger to confusion to outrage again and again. So many emotions flickered in front of his red eyes keeping a calm watch over the female. His stroking did seem to distract her from the painful memories slightly but as expected she didn't fully believe him about the knights. In truth he doubted they would do much to her either but the risk wasn't worth it. Trying not to audible sigh at her again when another threat was sent his way, the air instead rushed out his nose causing it to twitch. Had he not explained that he wasn't here to harm her? Could she not see anything other than the one that had harmed her? Ridiculous. Not all Zith looked a like but until she decided to see that, he would just have to tread carefully..

It was then that she slowly drew her arms away from him releasing him. Sensing her nervousness, Treachery didn't dare move least he startle her like the rabbit he had been hunting before. Back straight, shoulders tense and barely breathing; it was only when he could see the knife getting further away from him as the woman backed off did the Zith let his body relax. Slumping, his wings dropped then rose again, unfurling around him like a cloak. The snow that had covered them had melted into his fur a long time ago but with the shared heat of another's body he hadn't noticed. Now he certainly did as a light breeze cut right through his silky coat, a shiver wracking his body violently.

Muttering out a squeaky sounding 'C-cold!' in Zithese, Treachery wrapped his arms around himself and drew his wings in closer. He had to get moving again or he'll freeze. Fur stood up on end as he shook, Treachery attention immediately snapped back to Miss Sixarms when she spoke again. A grumpy look greeted her plead from him to leave. It wasn't like he had wanted to stay here in the first place. It was her fault for freaking out when he showed up and it was her fault he lost his rabbit too. Urgghhhh. It was getting late too. He would be in trouble if he got back late. But he might be in even more trouble if something happened to the female. Surely, she could manage herself right? Straightening up, Treachery's eyes bore into the woman's own as he examined her face closely.

“You be good on own?”

He could at least check and see if she wanted help. Else there was a nice warm blanket waiting for him and probably a lecture to go along with it. Ahh the joys of his new family. Eulalia needed to be brushed down too. Shivering again, a clawed hand tried to pull his shirt more around him. Rubbing it's knuckle against where the blade had been, the zith hissed slightly drawing the hand back into view. There was a blood. So she had managed to cut him. Although it seemed a small wound given the amount of the red fluid. Yet another thing he would have to explain upon his return.

A Slice of Terror… With Bunnies on the Side (Treachery)

Sayana tensed at the squeaky sound that came from the Zith’s lips. Even though she didn’t know its meaning, it was most definitely the language of the flying beasts. It wrapped its wings slightly about its frame and Sayana realized just how tense she still was. She forced herself to relax, at least a little, but her eyes never left the creature. She had told it to go, why was it waiting around? She glanced anxiously at the pool of water behind the Zith. Her dagger was still there, or it better be. She still needed to get it back.

Then as the creature’s eyes bored into her, she felt her heart beating quick as a rabbit’s. And yet, its words were surprising, almost troubling.

“You be good on own?”

Even though the creature had refrained from any sort of attack, her brain automatically jumped to the idea that it might be a trap, or something to catch her off guard, or to lure her in. “I said you should go,” the Eypharian repeated a little more aggressively this time. She hesitated taking the time to acknowledge his question. “I… I’ll be fine.”

She started walking towards him with the intent to get around him and reach the pool. “Now go. Fly away.” She said with a wave of her arms as if to shoo him away like a bird. She needed to get past him to the pool of water where she could retrieve her dagger but she wouldn’t take her eyes off him for a moment. Even as she knelt down beside the water she kept her gaze upon him.

Her dagger… It glinted near the bottom of the pool, or at least in that quick look she gave it. Oh this was not going to be fun. She reached a hand tentatively into the water and yet was surprised by the warmth. But the moment she took her hand out into the chilled air it was quite cold. On second glance the blade looked like it had fallen on a wide ledge just barely within arm’s reach. The moment the Zith was gone she’d recover the dagger and get the petch back to Syliras. Back to the safety of the walls and back to the place she called home.

OOCI'm done. If you'd like you can do a post where he actually leaves (and doesn't fly away) but it's up to you.
