20 Winter 514 Clyde had slowly been working on mastering this odd new ability he had begun to unlock with Cha, and finally felt he was nearing fully understanding it. Last time he had used a combination of trial and error work, and Auristics, to come to realize that there were non-physical niches within Cha, or the magical equivalent that was interpreted as such by his Aura reading. Within these niches he could flow his magic or spells inside, and hold it there for a time. The ability to store ones magic for a time, casting and then later releasing, clearly had a wide avenue of uses. Now that he felt he understood the niches, and how to send his magic there more or less, his next step was to better understand the process of casting the spells within the staff. His last attempt had been more by accident, a release of a spell that had inadvertantly become a transmutation and release. In that instant he had stored the djed inside, but had lost hold of it as soon as it was turned into a completed spell. That would not do. His goal then today was to work on casting spells inside of Cha, and keeping it there for as long as he could. Once more in his lab, Clyde worked up a mental image of Cha in his mind. Next he focused on the idea of the niches, on the concept, trying to expand it within Cha. Earlier when flowing in djed he had found them by use of Auristics, but to truly use it he would need to be able to find them without that, with only using his own mental processes and focus. Focusing as such on the picture of Cha taken apart, of the levels and such as he often saw when using Auristics, he focused on a single one of the niches within. Willing his res to rise and flow into Cha, he forced the res into the niche, holding is steady. Next he willed a transmutation, while doing his best to hold the magic inside of the niche, to store it for later. Air. He willed the res into air, within the niche, and pictured the air staying there, ready to be released. Instead, a sudden gust of air blew out of the head of Cha, the spell releasing immediately. Clyde shook his head, and let out a sigh. “Clearly still some work to do...” |
