Although she knows the best embalming techniques that can be used to preserve the corpses properly, not all bodies are treated with the same expert care. Amaryllis lets her apprentices take the reign when it comes to embalming, leaving many corpses poorly mummified. One's choice in body replacement is also somewhat limited because there is no constant supply of corpses from outside Sahova. Because of this, Palsa Hydrasa has its own bath designed specially for Nuits who want to take the extra mile in preserving and prolonging their body. Additional services include facial reconstruction, tissue stitching and repair, and body wraps - a special service Amaryllis provides to Nuits who gain her favor. At the very bottom of Palsa Hydrasa rests the most important chamber where suitable dead bodies are stored for the undead wizards to use. While Nuit-type undead have few needs, their bodies degenerate in time and cannot be healed when damaged. This forces them to perform body jumping regularly, at least every few years; if they cannot move into a new body, they will eventually be destroyed. The Rubellum Chamber is where Sahova stocks up their cryonic sarcophagi, each holding a preserved and frozen body. The magical effect is achieved through the use of ice-based Reimancy fixed onto the sarcophagus with advanced runic Glyphing. Palsy Hydrasa's Layout The Palsa Hydrasa is a remarkably intact example of Alahean architecture at its finest. The main chamber is tiled, floor-to-ceiling, in patterns of deep cobalt blue and shimmering gold. Mosaics detailing creatures and scenes from before the Valterrian occupy some walls, and others are simply ornamented with massive tiled designs. It is arguably the most beautiful place in Sahova; every doorknob, hinge, windowsill, you-name-it is decorated with ornate designs. Set into the floor—and taking up most of the available space—is a massive pool, its surface calm and glassy, the water’s color nearly indistinguishable from the blue tiles that surround it. The tiled mosaics on the walls don’t end at the water’s edge; they continue down into the depths of the pool, barely glinting through the water. The water in this pool is not quite water, though, and any observant person will note that when touched, it moves slightly slower and seems to be ever so slightly viscous. This pool contains a secret embalming solution, developed by Amaryllis herself, designed to keep the skin of a Nuit supple yet durable, and helps with minor wounds (though no wound can be entirely healed). Glowing orb-shaped lights surround the pool, emitting a soft, welcoming light that grows brighter as night falls and the window light becomes dim. Across the pool are several arched doorways, leading to the Palsa Hydrasa’s other chambers.
