43rd of Winter 514 A.V.
Time: Morning

Yuri Lehrer was following his feet today, no real goal in mind, as he wandered the streets of the city of Syliras, he looked at the architecture, wondering how long ago it was built, and whether there were any craftsmen still able to build such magnificent structures. As he rounded a corner he almost walked into someone and apologised “I’m sorry about that.” Before walking onwards, still without a goal for the day, and though the day was cold he didn’t want to stay indoors or at his campsite, he just wanted to wander the city, like he had done when he lived in Zeltiva. When he reached a split in the path, Yuri stopped for a moment, wondering which way he should go as he was still uncertain with the layout of the city, when he thought about it, the direction he would take became clear to him, and he took the left branch of the fork.

As he walked along, taking several more turns when needed, Yuri hardly paid any attention to his surroundings, and eventually found himself walking towards one of the gates to leave the city, he wondered if he was being unconsciously being drawn to his bondmate Saraphina Skyglow, as she was living outside the city in the Bronze Woods, Yuri himself lived near her so he discarded that as a reason for approaching the gate. When he was near the gate, Yuri stopped in his tracks, and looked back at the city, wondering if there was anywhere he would be able to hone his skill with a blade, or perhaps learn how to use a new type of weapon. It was at this moment, however, that something unexpected happened, something which had happened once before when he was new to Zeltiva, buying supplies, someone walked into him, knocking him over.

After a moment on the ground, Yuri collected his thoughts before looking up at whomever had knocked him over, a look of astonishment on his face, before he spoke “Well, this sort of thing doesn’t happen every day… I do apologise for standing in your way. I wonder… would you happen to know if there is anywhere I would be able to go and train myself in the art of swordsmanship? I’m relatively new to this city and don’t really know my way around yet… Oh… I’m sorry I haven’t introduced myself, I’m Yuri Lehrer, wandering mercenary.” Yuri got himself up wondering if the other person would reply or be on their way, as he was deep in thought he didn't really get a good look at the other person.

A Winter's Stroll (Clemen Kos)

Postby Clemens Kos on February 14th, 2015, 10:56 am

Mornings were as always slow, and filled with grunting noises. The man currently lying down in a bed in the Traveler's row was awake for several hours now, desperately trying to get some sleep. Keeping his eyes shut, and rolling around from his stomach to his back. Nothing helped. He could of sworn he didn't even see the sun shinning through the windows and realized just how little he slept. The man's hair was a mess once he decided to stand up, and try to shake off the tiredness. The happenings a few days ago left him with a hollow self and a tired mind, so he tried to do nothing but rest. But he cannot really spend the rest of his life locked in, so he decided to finally step out once more. Getting dressed didn't take a lot of time, and meanwhile he was already crumbling a piece of bread in his hands, to give the little pieces to his little companion, Nibbles. Stuffing the rest of the bread in his mouth, he tried to plan out the remaining day and what was he going to do with it. Not really finding anything at hand, he began to strap his metalic rembrace to his left hand, being seated while doing so. Luckily for him, this took less and less time every time he did it.

Patting the rodent who went back to sleep after his meal, Kos grabbed his halberd. The wooden shafted weapon with a polished metal axe head, and quite a spiky spear end. Looking at it, he remembered the day before and how he spent too long cleaning it before stepping out. He would be really in quite a bind if he'd walk around with a bloodied weapon around in Syliras of all places. So he strapped the extention of his hands on his back, while pulling his black coat over beforehand. The black wool made it seem like his left arm was a lot thicker due to the armor he wore beneath, but he was already used on that. His right hand was brought up, as Kos began to claw his hair into submission. His hair was odd even if combed, however. He was completely shaved on the right side of his head, and the hair on his left seemed to cover his left side of the face. All that was needed now was to strap his leather mask over his face, hidding his mangled face and nose from views, with only a small patch of his right face now visible. His usual apperance. With that, he stepped out and ventured into the city, with the intentions of walking out of it sooner or later.

Yet, as he was walking his mind wandered on other things. the street infront of him being replaced with the picture of a few days ago. His lips pressed in a thin line underneath his mask devoided of any emotion. In thought like that, he suddenly felt like his whole body was pressing against something, which quickly shot him back into reality. When he came to be, he saw a strangle clothed object tumble down on the ground, ans the man's one eye looked down. Quite quickly did Kos realize that it wasn't an object at all, due to the fact it began to move. Putting one and one together, Kos realized he just rammed into someone, and knock him on the ground without actually wanting to do such. A long sigh escaped his lips, seeing as how he couldn't even focus enough to actually walk straight. His right hand, leaving his coat's pockets, was extended, and offered to the fallen man. However, it was quickly apparant that the man on the ground was quite a talker. Not exactly something Kos himself was known for. Specially due to his nature of being unable to have a solid conversation without him saying something quite off and insensitive. From the words this Yuri spoke, however, Kos quickly learned everything he needed. A new mercenary in town looking for a place to train. He thought to himself that he wouldn't mind more people that are so direct in their words.

"As long as nothing's broken it's fine. And you seem fine enough, Lehrer." The masked man spoke out, finally deciding to break the silence. He has already came to a halt, not really feeling like walking off due to causing something himself. Even though the man himself offered his apologies. "As for fighting, unless you're going to be one of those knights you see around everywhere, your only bet is the fighter's pit." Kos rolled his shoulder, motioning to the weapon he carried on his person, as if to amplify his words to have a better impact. His voice wasn't exactly hostile as one would expect, but that was partly because he wasn't really paying attention. "Name's Kos. I'm headed there myself. Feel free to tag around."
