9th of Winter, 514 AV
Lorden stepped into the dimly-light hall of the Dyres District, closing the hardwood door with his left hand, as he turned away from it. As the knight shut the door, he heard the shuffling of claws against the stone flooring. Smiling, Lorden looked up.
"Sarorus boy, sorry to keep you waiting," Lorden announced; looking the white Deerstalker, that was lumbering towards him slowly, right in the eyes.
"Did I just wake you, or something? I'm ready for a good sleep myself honestly," Lorden said; noting the dog's slumber-encrusted eyes, as he reached down under his snout.
As Lorden scratched the dog's chin, Sarorus's warm tongue snaked between his fingers. Smiling, Lorden bent down on one knee; folding himself in towards the dog, the knight pressed his brow against the top of his deerstalker's head. Sarorus consented to Lorden's hug for but a moment, before walking out from under the man's hold, and lumbering further away from the door of the Archives.
"Your never going to lighten up... are you boy." Lorden stated, a smile on his face. The knight unfolded his legs, and turned towards where Sarorus had walked off to.
"All right, we'll go home, you don't have to coax me," Lorden assured the dog; walking forward as he talked, to take his place in the lead.
As the knight walked past Sarorus, he brushed his hand against the beast for a moment. The white hound allowed his owner to caress him, falling into step behind his pack-member contently.
As Sarorus fell behind his master, Lorden couldn't help but think about one part, of what he'd learned this night, in particular.
I wonder what my mage-brothers could tell me, Lorden thought; speculating as he mused, on what he would be getting himself into, if he did approach such men.
Though, maybe it'd be better, to stick to my sword, the knight thought with a bit of trepidation.
