NPCs and Gnosis Marks

Postby Saede on February 22nd, 2015, 2:21 pm

I'm considering creating an Konti NPC (mainly for flashbacks) based in Alvadas and would like for her to have a mark of Ionu. I know all konti have marks from either Rak'keli or Avalis and am unsure how that affects things.

Also do I need to make a Konti gift for her or is it that unnecessary?

NPCs and Gnosis Marks

We will give personal NPCs racial gnosis marks like Konti get Rak'keli or Avalis, or Vantha get Morwen, etc. However, we don't grant gnosis marks outside of Racial marks to personal npcs. You can always speak to Fable, the AS, and see if you can get your potential Konti NPC as a city npc that anyone can use. They can have a bit broader range of gnosis marks.

I would love to hear any and all NPC ideas! Just know that if you're wanting to make a city NPC, any player can use her and (depending on her skill set) she may need ST approval for teaching skills and such.

Also, yes. She would need a Konti gift as well if she were a Konti. :)

NPCs and Gnosis Marks

I don't mind other players using her so a city NPC may be the way to go! Still have a little to work on before I have anything definite, is there anything different about making city NPCs? Any suggestions would be welcome. And is there a specific place I should post or should I just PM you?

City NPCs are a little more free with skill distributions and gnosis marks.

Where as both personal stationary and travelling NPCs have skill limits, city NPCs technically don't (though usually they still have a smaller, specialized skill set).

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but Konti are often healers, seers, and often may work in some form of interpersonal jobs.

At this point, Alvadas doesn't have a specialized forum for NPC suggestions, so once you're ready, please feel free to just send me a message and we can get to discussing her.

I'd like you to come up with the following:
Name:
Date of birth:
Race:
Skills:
Gnosis: -if they have none, that's totally fine
A short biography: focus more on the NPC's personality rather than just their history for this

Don't worry about making it absolutely flawless! Just follow that format, jot down your thoughts, and we'll get into some dialogue about it. I'm excited you're interested in this! :)

NPCs and Gnosis Marks

Piggybacking off this thread quickly -

Would a personal NPC be able to have a hereditary/from birth gnosis mark, if it was in keeping with the lore for that gnosis? For example, could a personal NPC be part of the Avisata or Zaital family, and thus be born with an Azenth gnosis (which "tend to run in families")?

We've been leaning away from that, but in certain circumstances they would be able to do so.
