Rosela felt miserably cow-like as she chewed slowly on a bite of carrot. It was part of the lunch Likhren had packed for her, itself the result of a fit of hysterics after his comment that she was the size of a mountain, or, in his exact words, ‘she was positively glowing’. She was still having a hard time justifying to herself why his innocent comment had set her off. In the end, he’d helped put together a simple diet plan, filled with vegetables and awful things that she was sure the Oathmaster would gush about.
Sighing as she took another bite of carrot, she stared down at the page in front of her. She didn’t have time to waste like this, but the task ahead of her for the next few bells was rather unpleasant. To her right was a small stack of books checked out from the library, all on the odious subject of maternity. They weren’t for herself – the Oathmaster gave her plenty of information during checkups – but rather for her shop.
