Holland was seated right opposite from her, after she had announced for them to take a break from their sparring match. Their bout of silence was broken as he began to speak. His words were firm and determined, not any sense of hesitation in his voice.
"Claudia, before we even bother taking that break I want you to know of how much I love you. I am incredibly glad that you could say it to me, and I would like to attempt expressing to you my feelings. My love for you burns hotter than a raging flame. My love for you; ensures to me that if you and I aren't together by today then I am to blame. My love for you is eternal and shall never be put to shame. My love for you is a plea, and my love for you is pure wholesome insanity."
Her eyes shifted up to meet his, taking a quick glance as he finished talking. Holland always seemed to be expressing his fondness for her, and she felt somewhat torn by it. Was this more than just a simple fleeting moment of adoration or something he said to numerous other girls? Nevertheless, she brushed that thought from her mind, as she gave him the warm smile he loved so much.
"That's sweet of you Holland, really. You don't need to profess your love for me, every single time we meet though. All it does is makes my mind wander, and be able to concentrate. Her face blushed significantly as she ended, eyes glancing down, trying to hide her embarrassment at the revelation of the fact."
Before she even realized what was happening, Holland made to move forward, placing a quick kiss on her lips. Her crimson visage turned deeper as she realised what had just happened. She glanced up at him, her eyes full of longing and affection. But all she gave was a half-smile in return, before speaking. Strong emotions have begun to cloud her mind, and she was no longer in any capable position to carry on the spar with him.
"Now, look at what you've done. I doubt that any of us are in the right frame of mind to continue the spar. Shall we call it a day then?"
Her sweat-soaked clothes had already began to stick to her body, and she was looking forward to be out of them and getting into fresh ones could not come soon enough.
