"Not much of one for decor and so on," Keeta commented as they entered. "Not that my hopes were high, but still, a person need not work at squalor so."

"Oh, I don't know," Demitri replied as she closed the door. "It's not as if he spends any of his time here. Hardly even sleeps here, being that he spends most nights afloat or in a tavern." As the room began to glow with the small, warm light of the candle, the girl scanned the small room for valuables and storage. Sure enough, just to the right of the cookpot was a cumbersome wooden chest, a small but pricey-looking lock fixed to its mouth. She sighed; she'd only grabbed the one key, and she highly doubted it would fit two different locks. Maybe if she hadn't fumbled so much in trying to attain it, she'd have noticed anything else on Maddok that needed taking. Oh, well. Huffily she sat herself down in front of the chest and held the lock up to the light. "I don't suppose you have a pick on you? All I have are these big sewing needles..." As if to demonstrate, she pulled one from her pocket and held it similarly to shine in the glow of the candle. It was larger than most- clearly not intended for delicate needlework- but it was by no means an effective tool for the purpose Demitri had assigned it. Lockpicking kits were so hard to come by! And they could only be obtained in back alleys by denizens of the city's underworld- the girl doubted such a thing even existed in Zeltiva. If she'd only brought her own here from Sunberth, she could've had much more success this past season; they were just everywhere back then...

Well, there was nothing she could do about it now. She looked up at Keeta hopefully, but turned the needle swiftly in her hand and put it to the lock as if to ready herself for the likeliest answer.
I used my own picture for my avatar. Is that weird?
I was sick of not having pictures...
Oh well.
Also isn't it funny how you can make someone look completely different just by changing the lighting and upping the contrast?
Anyways, hi!
