Concept: Raised on one of the Paille plantations, but now left with only a small amount of money and a cottage at the edge of the farm. Having seen first-hand what the way of life in Kenash can do to a family, she seeks to change things there for the better.
Personality: Driven, ambitious, overconfident. Mildly naive. Holds herself to a high standard of good conduct. When she's able to relax, she can be flirtatious and teasing.
Ethics: Opposes the system of Dynasties and Magistrates in Kenash, as well as the debauchery around which the city thrives.
History: An only child. A member of the Paille Dynasty Family, in little more than name. Her mother died before Carina spoke her first words, the only thing she left behind for Carina was her mother's formal clothes. Her father, the second son of a second son, didn't wield any significant power and held only a little wealth to begin with. He compounded this by spending half his days carousing and gambling on the Six Sisters. Before his death, Carina was rather spoiled. Her father's relatively little wealth was still more than enough to afford a life of some luxury. For the first nineteen years of her life, Carina was essentially a debutante. During this time, she would often go down to the Six Sisters against her father's (hypocritical) instructions and join in the revelry there. This was also when she learned the skills of the high class: fencing, horseback riding, politicking, and such. After her father's death, however, life collapsed around her
With her father no longer there to stave off the collectors with his name, his gambling debts quickly caught up. By the time they were finished, Carina was left with only a small home just outside the family lands, a few possessions, what she viewed as a pittance in mizas, and her mother's clothes. Fearing for her fate as a young girl alone, she went and bought a weapon that she had some idea to use, and resolved to carve out a new life for herself. She dreams of dismantling the plantation system and tearing down the Six Sisters, but knows that this dream is near-hopeless, at best.
