Walking Back

[Neito]

Neito felt something on top of him. He wasn't startled by whatever it was, only simply confused for a moment. His first thought was that leaves or foliage must of made a layer on top of him, but he could still feel the air on other parts of his body so it wasn't that. Whatever it is, it's moist against Neito's skin; this quickly made him realize what it was. He slowly opened his eyes. Neito woke up from his nap to find a small, white animal standing on all fours on his chest. He petted the creature's head before carefully removing it off his chest. He sat up and looked around the area. Trees in various sizes surrounded him with bushes and ferns lower down, a small pond could be seen between the trees. Behind him was the path that led to town, which is only a few minutes to run back to. Neito looked down to the white animal. "Hey Looper!" He stretched his arms as the axolotl kept staring at him. "Sorry for falling asleep on you, I didn't sleep well last night." He yawned at the end, having a small grin at the end of it. He stretched his arms from side to side. Looper continued to stare. "Well, it was a niiiiice nap." Neito noticed the sky was showing an orange hue and the shadows were getting darker. "I better head back home soon, it's getting pretty late. How about I'll visit again tomorrow?" Looper only continued to stare. "I'll take that as a yes then, later Looper!" he walked towards the path, only stopping to wave at Looper, who later watched Neito run off through the trees and on to the path.

Neito was sprinting when he stepped on the path. He slid slightly on the dirt with his feet, slowing down, before adjusting his balance and resumed his normal speed. The trees only lined the way only for a few moments before the branches spread out away from Neito and out to a spacious makeshift trail. The town was still a bit far from where Neito was, but he should be able to get back in time before the sun sets completely. He been trampling on this path for awhile now ever since he discovered it a few years back. Neito once ran to the other side of the path once, which took about most of the afternoon trying to run forward and back; he still enjoyed going down the path regardless of the time. He could get a nice view of a small part of the isle from a hill, especially during dawn, where the sunlight bathes the distant waters in a pinkish blue mixture and continues onto land with a orange hue. Neito slowed to a stop once he got to the hill. He looked down at the trees, but the sun was already below the horizon to see much.
