Appearance:

Vetari stands around 6'2" and is stick thin, like his kind are famous for. His skin is on the paler side of ash, akin to the colour of the ash made from bones, very chalky. He keeps his nails impeccably manicured, making sure each nail is symmetrical and proportionate. His body is lightly smattered with wiry muscles, but it's plain he isn't the one for too much exercise, being thin even for Symenestra His face has harsh lines to it, along with pronounced cheek bones, thin aggressive eyebrows that seem to be permanently set in a frown. His sheet white hair is messily cut to his neck, brushed to one side with a hand like a dishevelled mop. His violet eyes stare out with a fierce intensity, as if actively observing and cataloguing everything Vetari witnesses.

Character Concept

Vetari, ultimately, is a Symenestra that’s deeply unhappy with the world. By all means he considers it –fair-, indeed that’s one of his deepest beliefs, that, other than what you’re born into, life is extremely fair, karma if you will. As such he’s disappointed in the Symenestra race for making him so feared amongst the rest of the world. Naturally, he takes it upon himself to attempt to single handedly fix the problem, being very much a ‘If something needs doing, do it yourself’ person.

Vetari can be very swift to judge, and very harsh judge, a person’s characteristics, having to be like that when travelling, gauging whether people were friend or foe, naturally mostly foe. Because of this Vetari can come across as arrogant or even cruel, when really he’s just trying to protect himself.

Vetari loves honesty above all else, even if it’s criticism. As such, he can be extremely blunt, but just wants people to know the truth. As such he abhors false pretences and niceties, preferring cold hard facts.

Character History

Vetari was always a curious character, spending much of his childhood around the place of purging, studiously watching, and documenting the Symenestra’s grisly coming into existence. Sacrificing a social life for knowledge and learning, Vetari would spend a lot of time in the deserted outskirts of Kalinor, sitting in ruins, notes neatly laid around in a circle, as he tried to puzzle out the ‘cure’ for the Symenestra race.

Upon reaching 19 years of age, Vetari proposed he started acting out on his theories. However, unsurprisingly for most, yet surprisingly for Vetari’s narrow, determined mind, the population of Kalinor considered his ideas closer to torture than safe carriage of birth, methods being similar to what the Esterians have been doing, yet even more painful, but safe, for the mother.

Disgruntled with the rejection of his methods, Vetari decided to leave Kalinor with the next harvest, under the obvious guise of looking for a surrogate, but never planning to return. Having nothing else to go on, Vetari headed towards Wind Reach, where his cousin, Drusilla, had told him she’d left for, after her love of all things flight related made her leave. She was always far too adventurous for Vetari’s tastes.

Vetari didn’t know what to think of the surface at first, but eventually grew to be disappointed by it. Considering it far too bright for one, and the inhabitants far too unfriendly, each day passing making him a little more bitter about his race and their reputation, more especially how they earned it.

Vetari has finally arrived at Wind Reach, hoping to start his studies afresh, and find the ‘perfect solution’ to the Symenestra’s problem, and remove the taint off their reputation, as much as they deserved it.
