Fall 510 AV.
Seat of the world
Late evening.
She had been bathing her wound, she had the scar ever since she was six years old. Human years that is, as far as the wolf was concerned the scar had been there for all her life. Kelvic or not she still bled. She swam as wold but changed to woman as the ache grew at her side.
She moved her hand and glanced at the wound on her hip. It was open again and bleeding hard. She couldn't help but open it when she went on the hunt, if she didn't hide enough and the pray got the chance they often went for the tender scar. She had it stitched twice, once by a witch doctor who almost killed her and once by a human woman who found her on the road. She winced as she moved out of the water to dress.
She had walked a perimeter before bathing to secure her safety, of corse she had left a trail of blood that would now be drawing predators close or worse... bandits. She grabbed her blade and set up a spot in the cover of the forest where she could lay down. Her breathing was heavy and her head light after the loss of blood. She needed help. She ripped one of her shirts she had kept in her pack and held it tight against the wound. She knew it wouldn't stop the bleeding but just soak it up. 'Please, send someone my way' she whispered to the air around her.
She slipped in and out of conscious sleeping until now when she felt the ache and panic behind her situation. The protection of night was upon her but then again it meant she was less likely to be found. Every muscle and bone ached as she became her more natural wolf state. She welcomed it. The warmth of her pelt and strength of her nose and eyes. She gave up on stopping the bleeding, she just gave up. Lying down on top of her cloak and clothing she let out a soft non-threatening howl in the hope that someone would go looking for the sound.
She is a Kelvic able to take the form of an animal and a human, an old race of shapeshifter that are left to wander the world without a true home, lost, and looking for companionship. All she had was stories, no past just heritage. No family just sketches of a life she once had. No home or possessions except a vile of Wolf's bane.
Her hair was long and thick in both forms. In human state she has several braids of several sizes, some held beads others held metals and all held her dark red and black hair. Now as wolf she held a dark grey pelt with soft red highlights around her ears and lower back. Red stains marked her pelt as blood continued to crawl from the wound. Her dark eyes shone in the light. Her pale skin that glowed in the moon's light now hidden under thick pelt. Her leather bodice and soft cotton shirt all lay in piles by her side. Her dark breeches and boots that blended her in with the bushes around her now lay slumped against her pack. She was one with the moon, a child of it, a creature of it.
She looked up at the moon and remembered the family she once had. They were up there as stars, that's where her mother told her they would go when they passed away, then they could look down and watch her grow. She knew with every breath she would be with them soon. She could hear someone or something closing in on her but she had not the strength to dart quietly and quickly behind the trees with her glowing eyes watching and searching for the interruption. Was a man or beast that now gazed upon her? She felt no panic or alarm, at this point she didn't care if it was bandits, she was downwind and was starting to accept the fact that without help soon she would die. The worst thing would be a bandit stumbling upon her as a human, weak and easy for the taking. She was better off as wolf.
She had been hunting bandits and messing them around in payback for the crimes they had committed to her family. Now she couldn't even snarl at them. She knew they were after her now and they were getting smarter. She looked to the moon then let her head rest on her paws 'What do you want?' she said to herself. 'Are you here to help with my end or with my life?' she thought before closing her eyes a little.
