“Haha! You’ve got to catch the girls you like, Timothy.” Sayana laughed lightly. “But it’s your life and it’s yours to live. I ain’t going to tell you how to do it.” She took another glance down at the girl with a chuckle. The mast swayed with the winds and the rocking of the boat and she nodded at his comment about going down. While it was fun and she could see miles of clear blue water, it was just that - lots of water.
“You know, I’d say you’re just as tall as me, except you’re thin as a reed. And don’t suggest an arm wrestle, unless you’ve really got guts.” Sayana teased as she began climbing over the wall of the crow’s nest. She offered a high hand to him, partly to be polite and partly because she had noticed a couple of his queasy glances down at the ship below. With her two mid arms firmly on the edge of the crow’s nest she placed a foot and then a second on the netting that they had climbed. It was harder doing it in reverse and she was a lot more careful this time and held onto as many hand holds as she could find.
The rigging swayed with the rocking of the boat as Sayana took one step at a time down towards the boat. This time she actually paid more attention to Timothy’s safety, not wanting him to slip and fall. A new sense of responsibility started to come over her. He was in her care now and even though he had probably lived on his own to an extent, she still should look after him and look out for him.
“So a feat of strength, eh?” Sayana said as they neared the ship’s deck. At a couple feet from the ground she glanced down and leapt off to land with a stumble, but successfully on her feet. “What do you have in mind? Something heavy to haul about? Or a bit of wrestling or physical combat?”
With a flourish she drew her Lakan and struck pose with it. It was in many ways the prettier blade, a bit longer than her other daggers and a beautiful curved design. Yet she was also not as good with it. She wasn’t sure of Timothy’s strength or skill but that’s why she had her other daggers in her belt. And she rather doubted he’d be able to best her with them in her hands.
The Eypharian did a few playful slashes with the Lakan. The second slash she almost lost it and just barely managed to catch it with another hand so it didn’t clatter to the ground. Clearly she wasn’t used to the odd balance of the curved blade. Soon it was back in her left mid hand, not her dominant hand but the one she was planning to train with for that blade.
