Esca Iris Morealis Race: Human Gender: Male Occupation: Herbalist Age: 28 Birthday: 66, Winter, 486. Birthplace: Kenash Esca looked very much like one would expect from a Morealis Dynasty member. His build featured little in the way of muscle, sporting neither toned physique of a warrior who had been subjected to numerous drills nor the shapeless bulk of a labourer who toiled in the field of Kenash under its fierce sun day in day out. No, he was altogether slim as he weighed in at around one hundred and thirty pound and stood at a modest height of five foot ten. Underneath his thin black brow a pair of pale blue eyes were set, each one with glint that gave him the impression of knowing more than he was revealing. He was often found fondly stroking or twiddling his pitch black moustache, it was always meticulously groomed and trimmed while stubble was rarely found gracing his angular jaw. His features were as sharp as his mind, giving him an altogether mischievous appearance. Character Concept Esca was born into the Morealis Dynasty, one of the many wealthy and scheming families in the city of Kenash. This birthright came with expectations, certain expectations he was eager to fufil. Like most of his family he was born with a silver tongue, one albeit that could do with a bit of polishing but nonetheless he maintained the usual compsure and pretence that was expected. This meant that normally anyone (of any importance) who talked to Esca or otherwise interacted with would find themselves in the presence of a friendly, charming man who was happy to crack a joke or offer a drink. If he ever dropped this pretense then you would find a man with little to no interest in lives of other people, he cared much more about how useful they were then anything else. He was very passionate about his work, which drove his actions more then anything else. He was also victim to the need to fulfill both the expectations he had of himself and that of his family, it was a constant burden on his shoulders that while existed it had been magnified by Esca's ego. His moral compass could certainly be described as "misguided". It's not the fact that he's purposely violent or cruel, it's more that he couldn't give a flying fuck about most people. For know his morals and ethics remain a mystery, it would require substantially more experience for it to manifest itself. Character History Esca was born into the world on the 66th of Winter, AV 486 as part of Morealis Dynasty. His immediate family, both his mother and father were rather distant parents, his childhood and the education included was left to cousins, tutors and other servants within the family. As a boy Esca idolized his father, choosing to only hear the sugar-coated words about his father's devotion to his work while he became more a part of Esca's imagination rather than his reality. As he became older and less naive to the ways of the world he soon stumbled upon the truth as he saw it, his father was more interested in his work then his family. Esca wasn't that different; long had he neglected his younger brother and sister during a time they should have looked out for each other and grown distant because of it and he had begun to develop an obsession like his father. With an absentee father he could indulge his interests and obsessions to the fullest extent and for him that had been debauchery of Kenash's narcotics. Hooked on their potential he used the tutors available to him to learn more about the flora of Kenash and its potential in the lab, under the guise of becoming a physician for his family since he doubted that few would support his true vocation openly. But as he learnt more and more he soon realized that he that his education was limited this way, so soon he struck out on his own, with the dream of surpassing his father in every measurable way and making himself indispensable to the Morealis Dynasty. Distant was the kindest and most honest term for it. Never close as children, Esca had allowed himself to become subconsciously jealous of his sister's abilities and usefulness over the years though not once he had felt protective of her, content the knowledge that his brother was protective enough for the both of them and that she was far from defenceless. Matthias Morealis - Father His views of his father had changed radically over the years, from idol to abandoner then to a rival. What's more extrondary is that all these views had been formed with little to no interaction between Esca and Matthias, instead it relied on the lack of a bond between them and Esca's own psyche to drive this almost imaginary relationship.
