However, it is most commonly pulled back in a single braid or woven in a complex of braids for special occasions. She is also often adorned in elegant jewelry, especially around her ears and neck. Her clothing choices reflect her perception of life, classy and elegant but practical. Finally, the black ink of her windmarks dance in graceful curves from her left shoulder blade around her back, coming to rest at her left hip. Character Concept Motivated by the murder of her parents at a young age, Victoria’s goal is to escape the cruelty of her past and create a new life for herself in far away lands. She no longer has hatred towards the man who killed them, although she did in the past, but believes that forgiveness is the path to healing. Victoria is also very loyal to the people she surrounds herself because of her dearth of love as a child. However, her strong independence has given her an adventurous spirit and, although having a strong sense of right and wrong, is willing to take risks. Character History Victoria was originally named Naomi Rosewater. She was an only child and had a very close attachment with her parents, who were in the Ruby Clan. Being only two, however, her memories with them are short but vivid. Her mother was pregnant, they were hoping for a son, when they were murdered. Victoria briefly saw the man as he was leaving the house but never understood why her parents were targeted. She then moved in with her aunt and uncle and her four cousins. They raised her like her own, teaching her to ride as was expected of her people. Her favorite moments as a child were when she could sneak away from her caretakers and play her flute. Her music often mimicked the beautiful landscape of the Sea of Grass. She eventually left to Syrilas to pursue further artistic teaching, but also hoping to find adventure and a companion. Victoria changed her name when she left to better adapt to the outside culture. She gained her windmarks at the ripe age of 17 when Gallium, her horse, chose her. Tragically, Gallium died two years later, just before she left the Sea of Grass, of pneumonia. Ultimately, her windmarks remind her that she always will have a home to return to, if ever she is led astray.
