Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

[Sunset Falls] More Than A Musical Outing (Beodan)

Timekeeping: Summer 35, 515 AV
Setting: Sunset Falls

Already Victoria could feel the humidity in the air as she neared the Falls. The sky was scattered with large white clouds with tints of grey. They blocked most of the sun and she was thankful that she hadn’t chosen a warmer day. The plants seemed to flourish though in the heat and dampness. The bright hues of reds and greens and oranges were stunning. Gazing up further out across the field, Victoria saw the streams of sun streaked in columns through the clouds and Sunset Falls just a few hundred metres farther, providing a beautifully picturesque view.

Walking towards the falls, Victoria’s skirt slid over the the tops of the petals and leaves. Once, she stopped and bent down to smell a calendula with a particularly striking pattern of yellows. Moving slowly, she stretched out her hands to feel the full relief of the lazy wind blowing past her and catching in the wisps of her hair.

Now at the waterfall, its sight had brought back memories of her childhood next to the river near her house. This was exactly what Victoria was hoping for. After moving to Syliras, Victoria found herself becoming sidetracked with all the hassles of moving in and getting settled. She pulled out her flute and fumbled for a minute with the finger placement. It really had been too long since she had played. Testing out a few notes, a group swallows flew out of the tall grass in surprise. Her lips and fingers soon found a pattern and a gentle but growing melody emerged, emulating the running water.

[Sunset Falls] More Than A Musical Outing (Beodan)

Postby Beodan Clathony on July 8th, 2015, 10:46 pm

A flat hoof crushed through the layer of leaves and decaying plant life that formed the forest’s natural carpet as the Horse Kelvic shifted to take a bite out of a clump of clover, the one now slightly behind his right foreleg already having been nibble to the base. The summer air pressed down heavily on him, his fine coat of sleek, brown hair not helping to ease the humidity. His tail drooped lazily behind him, swaying in the gentle breeze. A long blow of air out of his nostrils exhibited his contented boredom. Some days, he just wished things would happen. He loved to eat clover and sweet grasses, and run through the fields just outside of Syliras in the hot sun. It was nice. And yet, left him feeling a little lonely, the kind that goes hand in hand with having nothing new to do.

The Falls created a whispered roar some ways away, white noise, water falling thousands of feet before coming to an abrupt stop, casting a fine mist around the area. Dan liked the noise, but worried it would leave him unaware of approaching threats. But, it was worth it, as the abundance of moisture in the air caused the greenery to grow fast and sweet, and in the most unlikely places. His ears perked when another sound joined the cascading water. It was like the howling of wind, only softer and more delicate. Each note seemed to belong where it was placed, creating the fabric of music.

Picking his head up to better discern direction, Beodan walked towards the Falls, following the sweet notes like a possessed horse. In a way, he was, captured in curiosity. Soon he came up to the bank of the falls, where his large eyes came to rest on a young woman, a flute on her lips. Her back was to him as she sat on a rock, one of her feet almost touching the surface of the water. Blond, braided hair was fell to the ground behind her, how long it was! He approached her once more, his hooves clopping on the damp rock, stopping with his muzzle a foot behind her head on the right.

The Horse Kelvic nickered a greeting.

OOCI spent some time learning how to style my posts better! I will be using this, and might be modifying it a bit, so do not be thrown. Let me know if you have any advice or more improvements to be made. Thank you!
