Dashel Jamison

Postby Dashel on November 27th, 2010, 8:16 pm

Name: Dashel Jamison
Race: Human
Age; Around 25 years
Gender: Male
Home region: Sylira
Physical Description:
Dash is the living example of a dashing rogue. From his lean build to the mischievous twinkle in his blue-green eyes and the mid-long unkempt blonde hair. His skin itself is slightly tanned from the time spent outdoors, though most of that time was in the shadows.
He is considered handsome by most, and his trademark smile is amongst the most trustful in appearance.
His height is 1.80 Meters (5’9”) and he weighs about 74 kilograms (163 pounds.)

Character concept:
Despite his trusting smile, Dashel is often compared to Ionu Him/Herself. While not as mysterious, he is just as mischievous. As any man who grew up in Sunberth, he enjoys gambling. More specifically, he enjoys cheating. Cards, dice, even wheels. If it can be outwitted and manipulated, Dash knows how. Despite his idea of a good time being outsmarting others without getting caught, or perhaps even because of it, Dash has a insatiable curiosity. He pilfered books from temples and even stole some from the hands of clerics, just so he could get a better understanding of nature, magic, and the gods. To Dashel, there are few things as satisfying as coming to a revelation. Dashel has simple needs. He can hunt for food if he has to, though he prefers to buy them from money he won in the gambling houses, and his nights are usually spent in the houses of girls, an inn, or in a tree or tent out of the cities. Dash would never kill a man if there was a way around it, and is more then willing to die for things that are important to him. Lucky for him however, his life is most important to him.

Character history
Dash was left at birth, and grew up as an orphan in Sunberth. Once he could stand up and run, he was left alone by the people of the orphanage, and once he realized that, he began taking care of himself like most orphans did. He stole.
By the time he was 6, he was already one of the best young thieves of Sunberth. He saw entrances where others saw blockades, and whenever he was spotted, he was gone before anyone could catch him. After earning the nickname of “The Dashing thief”, he used his reputation for more gains, creating a small band of child-thieves who called themselves the Mockers.

The Mockers thrived. Day after day, their shared “earnings” gained them a steady income, with plenty food for all, and a backup reserve of money for clothes and even housing. When Dash was 12, the Mockers were the most notorious gang of Sunberth, and the children were well respected by the other thieves. One of the thieves in the mockers, named Kahil, decided Dash had outlived his usefulness, and tried to kill him. Fortunately for Dash, the secret that made him such a great thief, and that practically guaranteed his timely escape on the job, saved his hide that day. His skills as an Auristic came into power, and for the first time he could focus and identify the aura that was coming towards his room, practically screaming killing intent.
By the time Kahil opened the bedroom door, Dash was gone.

When Dash went to sleep that night, he was too full of adrenaline to notice, but when he woke up, he was overwhelmed by a sense of instinct. He realized what the people now walking the streets wanted, and by the end of the day, he felt like he was going mad. It was like everyone shouted their intention to him at the same time, their activities, their desires, everything. By the end of the second day, he fled. He was driven to near insanity by the visions he had seen that night. Dreams of lust, murder and things that simply didn’t make sense from the entire city flooded into his brain, as he was unable to turn his power off. On the third day, he began showing extreme exhaustion from the overusing of the power. He was hallucinating, but couldn’t see. Sounds from the wildlife in the woods, and the trees themselves flooded into his brains, but he could not hear.
On the fourth day, he finally lost it.
What exactly happened after that is blurry, but the first thing he remembers since falling asleep on the third day, was waking up in a church. A quiet church.
Turned out he was in an outbuilding of an Ano cult church, and the only people in the building were Pons who could mask their Aura by using their gnosis.
The Pons allowed rehabilitated him, taught him logic above his normal logic (now that he was sane again.) He had been insane for nearly 5 months when he attacked a Pon in the woods for food. What the man was doing there was never told to Dash, but the man saw him for what he was, an Auratic product of Overgiving, and brought him to the church, where his power had little to no effect.
It took him a year to become sane enough to remember anything, but once he was back to normal, the Pon’s enjoyed discussion with him over logic and revelations, though he never joined their cult.

At the age of 18, he learnt how to shut his Auratic power on and off at will, and was promptly requested to leave the church. Since then, he has been travelling, seeking knowledge, riches and entertainment. In those years, he has learnt to better control his Auratics, seen more then a few cities, and robbed many places for fun and knowledge.
Now 25 years old, he finally settled (Sortoff) near the Southern Trading Post of Ravok, waiting to find a chance to enter the city unnoticed. After all, it’s more fun that way…
