This shining population center is considered the jewel of The Sylira Region. Home of the vast majority of Mizahar's population, Syliras is nestled in a quiet, sprawling valley on the shores of the Suvan Sea. [Lore]
Nestled in a quiet corner underutilized by the Antinous Training Grounds on the roof of Stormhold Castle is both an important political location and popular recreation site. Organized neatly to ensure every inch of space goes unwasted are all manner of airy enclosures, roofed weathering yards, and spacious mews. Dominating it all is a rather plain looking multi-story stone building with barred, narrow windows and a heavy oaken door. This is a private site where various hunting raptors are housed and cared for in the city and utilized by members of the Order. Not unlike the Windmount Stables, squires, knights, and pages are welcome to board their avian companions in the shelters provided. ns are provided as to how they must be handled if given a message to deliver.
Certain raptors are also bred and trained at the facility for teaching purposes and also to sell. All common species are available, as well as certain uncommon birds such as owls and various eagles. Prices vary depending on age, type, and the level of training. Housing a bird at the Aviary is considered a privileged for the Order, not a right, and so those individuals who show a lack of responsibility or worse--neglect--could have their bird confiscated and either re-homed or released into the wild depending on the circumstances. Once a season certain birds are brought down to the basement level market and offered up for sale to the general public.
Classes are also provided to anyone in the city three times a season except during summer when the birds are in molt. All public classes are held at the Windmount Stables unless otherwise announced on the city's Bulletin Board on the 10th, 40th, and 80th at the 10th bell. No sign-up is necessary. Those seeking to start in any class level higher than beginner must show appropriate knowledge and skill to merit advanced or intermediate placement.

NPCs :
Name: Andre Druva Race: Human PoB: Syliras DoB: 40th, Spring, 465 AV Title: Unranked Knight Skills: 50 Falconry, 23 Birdkeeping, 30 Riding, 35 Shortsword, 28 Shortbow, 26 Buckler Shield, 38 Teaching Gnosis: 1 Mark of Sylir Additional Info: Andre Druva took a keen interest in falconry as a young man after a brief quest into Kalea where he visited the high mountain city of Wind Reach. It was there that he picked up what would be a lifelong passion, and began learning to care for large birds of prey. Upon his return to Syliras he began spreading this interest through the Order, and eventually built the Aviary and the Delivery Office.
After his long journey across Mizahar he developed a belief that keeping in touch with far off neighbors was a necessity, and in Wind Reach realized the most efficient way to get somewhere was through the air. With Wind Eagles exclusively in the far reaches of the north, Andre resorted to their much smaller cousins. Over the years he experimented with various types of birds, and finally settled on the simple homing pigeon as the preferred messengers for the city.
Now that his daughter helps run the Delivery Office, Ser Andre devotes much of his time to teaching the public and members of the Order how to properly handle raptors, and cares for the birds of prey living at the Aviary.
