"By track. A group of ten horses leaves a broad trail to follow." Easier than following a hare or fox, although even that had been easier in the north, the snow preserving tracks for days when not new snow covered them up. "I don't mind the meat raw." He had always liked the taste of fresh meat, when the blood was still warm after a recent kill. Often enough though he had content himself with the remains of an other predators prey and had lived just as well. One couldn't always be picky.
"I haven't seen them in days. They had a day head start too. Half a day, maybe more." Cathan wasn't sure how long he had passed out that day, but the sun had already touched the Zastoska Mountains in the south. And of the bandits had nothing left but churned up earth. "I do believe though they headed to the south or the east. Now I am not sure anymore." The idea the bandits would stay out of the woods, because they feared their power, made him smirk. The kelvic wasn't feeling all to powerful these days.
"Can't argue the utility of opposable thumbs," he admitted amused, his tongue showing between his fangs in a half grin. "Not to say talking with humans isn't useful too at times." Not that he had done it too often in the past, most of the time there was neither need nor opportunity for a lengthy chat.
Watching her pull two rabbits from her bag, Cathan could feel his mouth water. He was used to go without food for a while, yet the idea to dig his teeth into a fat rabbit was tempting. Golden eyes looked up to her. "I had a dog's life for most part of my life. Can't say it did bother me too much... until now." The kelvic tilt his head to the side. "It is nice to have someone to follow. It... feels right." Most kelvic knew the feeling, the urge to find someone to serve. "But you might come to do things you might not want to do. And you do them still..." His voice trailed off for a long second, shacking his head. "Of course... you can be lucky and find someone nice." This time he showed a smile, his eyes finding the rabbits again.
"You shouldn't need to ask if you can change. Not with another kelvic." Cathan nodded towards the rabbits. "Don't mind them cooked though, if that's what you prefer. I can help you with the firewood too, if you like?" With his clothing still laying where he had left it before his hunt for revenge he could have only helped her naked. While it was warm enough for him to not be particularly bothered by the outlook, he asked still. Mostly because she had asked before and he wasn't sure if she would mind or not. Humans always did in his experience, resulting it much screaming, shouting and blushing. Depending on who happened to be around.
