"Throwing sound.. hey, that's not a bad idea! You could shift something that is somewhere else and draw attention there instead of to yourself! But to make it effective I think we'd need more skill in manipulating Res.. otherwise out effective range is pretty limited.." She realized that she was raising her voice and looked back at the group that was working somewhere else. They didn't seem to notice, so she went back to her conversation, quieter this time.

"Deflecting projectiles is an interesting idea.. but I think you'd need to be expecting them. Otherwise it'd take too long to produce the Res, and transmuting it at the right time is another matter.. but it could be used if dodging isn't an option."

"Yeah.. maybe we should hold off on the theories until later." She tapped her chin, thinking of ways to make the magic easier. "Well.. I've never really tried meditation.. or teas. Or anything, honestly. All I've done is basic rest and waiting for things to pass. Maybe I'll look into some of those things!"

"Blessed by a God? No.. I've never met any Gods, and I don't worship any. They just... I just don't know enough to toss my life to an upper power. I was supposed to do some research, but..." She trialed off, thinking again of her obligations.

She shook her head again and turned back to Nivel. "So.. you can't tell what is unique about it? It's just.. different?" She bit her lip nervously, not really ready to admit to this new friend her true nature.
As of Summer, 63, 515, Bakar has a different body! If never met you before, then this doesn't really matter to you, but people I've met should take this into account, as you're really unlikely to recognize me. :P

Doing Her Rounds [Nivel]

Nivel’s ears fluttered in happiness as Bakar responded favourably to her suggestion about throwing sound. “We will have to work towards it but it’s a least something we can use later on when are skills are up to par.” The pycon already felt far better about her ideas on the subject of magic and couldn’t wait to share her idea’s with Sera Grey to see if they could be expanded upon. “Anyway, My Patron says that the greatest asset in magic is imagination but one cannot forget foresight and restraint. If something can be done without magic we should try our best to take that course of action even if magic might make it easier.” Nivel began talking with her hands and pacing back and forth like a professor giving a lecture to a room full of bright eyed students. “I should have known how silly using Reimancy to do something that can easily be accomplished by preforming a simple sidestep or tumble” She shook her head in self reflection.

“Oh you really should” Nivel began to hop up and down and clap her hands with restrained exuberance “It makes the recovery so much better, I don’t have time to be sitting in bed waiting for my head ache to leave. I still take it easy but tea with the right herbs and a bit of meditation does wonders in allowing you to function a bit quicker and smother.

“You really don’t have any devotion to any of the gods?” Nivel replied in restrained shock “I have many gods that I seek guidance from, mostly Harameus as he brought me life but how would life be without Syna’s light and Leths gentle glow, and this city we live in would be nothing if it weren’t for Sylir guidance long ago.” It baffled the pycon to think that someone could possibly say that they didn’t worship a god of any kind. She knew she couldn’t force the tall folk to pay her respects to the mighty ones that provided so much but she could at least hopefully sway her with words.

Nivel let out a gentle sigh after their small clash of ideologies was over and spoke again. “how about we try some practical application?”
The pycon walked a bit so that she was were even farther away from the other mages, who seemed to be building some kind of structure with rocks. Nivel stopped to watch as rocks from the ground which appeared to be lifted by invisible forces and then placed on top of each other. No signs of res could be seen and the limpness of the the mages arms told Nivel that they were doing projection magic. The pycon quickly turned her glance away from the spectacle and back to the business at hand.
“I usually start with meditation, then I make a shield..which can take a while so you may need to start without me.” Nivel explained as she lowered herself into a comfortable seating position on the cold stone floor.
She started by breathing in and out slowly and deeply until she was at peace. She did her best to banish her thoughts and worries like they were bandits in the bronze woods. The less cluttered her nexus was the more she focused on the crafting of her shield until the magic started to take effect. Strands of invisible djed sprouted from her chest and she willed them to knot and weave into a viable barrier. The process of spinning this cocoon took some time, but she hoped it wasn’t much longer than Bakar took to make Res.
