West Sylira Fishing Company |
Business Type: Fishing Concept: Everyone needs to eat and Syliras had an official population of fifty thousand residents and even more when you figure on visitors and …displaced citizens. Add to this that Syliras is dependent on foreign trade for almost all of its resources there is a very high demand for Fish for both food and trade. Marek has the skill enough to provide a portion of this supply and has the necessary skills to transport his goods and to get a good price from the regular citizens and something near a fair price from other more experienced business men. Items Sold:Fresh Fish: 2 GM/ LBS Fresh Shellfish: 5 GM/ LBS Sea Turtles: 20 GM/ Turtle Income:Base: Fishing 4/ Day Skill Level Bonus: Competent : 6/ Day Sales Bonus: 20%/ Level: 2 It’s a big city after all Total Income: 8/Day Assets :Ships Boat Rowboat (with sails) 6 fishing nets 5 Fishing Kits 2 Block and Tackle’s 2 Clam shovels and 2 Clam Tubes Debt: None |

Approved with the following modifications/conditions:Though not specifically spelled out, I am seeing this as a fishmonger occupation. I can actually see some interesting job thread potential here as you go in search of new types of fish to sell. The only thing I would ask to be added to this proposed plan as a condition of approval is the individual and total asset value and whether or not said assets are already owned or need to be purchased/acquired. Regarding the questions of an extra ship and employees, an additional ship may qualify for an additional 20% Efficiency Bonus to the business' income. That being said, it would require additional employees to operate. Which, as you mentioned, does cost the business owner money. This makes the addition of another ship something best suited for a time when you character has more skill and with it higher income. The idea is to build a business up from a small, simple level to a higher, more profitable one. The reason for employees bringing a cost as opposed to more income is multifaceted and still under consideration. The intent is to create something of a balance and prevent businesses from relying solely on the employees over the player character owner. Without a cost associated, it is possible for an owner to use the business as a cash cow or their own personal bank. While there is a cost assigned to having an employee, the business owner is able to spend less time with the running of the business and gain more time to do other business and non-business related things while still having a steady income. In an attempt to relieve some of the cost of having employees, it is possible to gain the Efficiency Bonus from having employees as long as they add efficiency and ingenuity to the business in some important way. Special Note: This approval is for the validity of the business plan. Final approval of the actual location and/or any current or future NPCs must be given either by the attending Storyteller or Help Desk respectively. |
