Lora smiled and nodded when Garland asked if she wanted to go to the docks. “That would be lovely.”

The park was truly a beautiful place. The leaves changing made it even more so. When walking through the area, one could almost forget they were in the city at all. It seemed as though the tranquility of the park took anyone walking through it to a completely different place than the ever bustling city that was Syliras. Despite all that, Lora was excited to go to the docks. She loved the park it was beautiful and she wanted to spent more time there but more than that, she wanted to see new places she hadn’t visited yet. There seemed so many things had changed since she had been here and while it was all a bit intimidating, she was excited by it all. When she was here before she had enjoyed spending time by the docks, everything about the water had always enchanted her. Now she longed to see what had inevitably changed.

Lora beamed as Garland recounted the park in spring time. She remembered everything he said to be true. The flowers and all their beauty had been something Lora always loved to see. She couldn’t wait for spring to come again if only to see the blossoms. Mura had been beautiful but there there was something very alluring about seeing that kind of attractive scenery in the middle of the city. The contrasted seemed to make it even more gorgeous.

“Spring...” Lora reminisced in a far off voice. “It always was my favorite season.”

As they continued to walk among the trees, Garland asked, "Hey, do you still have that handkerchief I gave you?"

“Oh! Oh, I apologize. ” She gasped. “When I moved from to Mura I could take very little, since we had to go so quickly. I could only take what I really needed. ”

When she had left, between her mother’s ailing health and the distance they would need to travel, she was only able to take what she needed with her. Lora doubted she would ever be coming back to Syliras and so she would never need the handkerchief again. It had gotten so worn by weather from hanging outside her window that she doubted she had any use for it at all.

Upon arriving at the docks, Lora was surprised to see not much had changed. Although there was quite a bit different about the physical surroundings, although she couldn’t remember much about the specifics of the docks from before, the feeling of the area was the same. It was still amazingly busy and crowded, still bustling and full of people that didn’t care what Lora was doing. When she was younger, her mother hadn’t liked when she went to these docks for fear that she would be injured in the chaos. Of course, these docks were much different from the ones back on Mura, where Lora used to sell her wares. On Mura, they were calm and organized, just as everything was in Mura. This sense of chaos of one of the things she had missed about Syliras.

“Yes, it is much busier than Mura. Everything was so very peaceful there.” Lora confirmed when Garland voiced the very idea that she was thinking. “Well, there was one other place I have been wanting to visit. The place where we first met. Do you remember? No, I doubt you do. It was so long ago. The bazaar. It would be lovely if we could visit the bazaar, if that is alright with you, that is. ”

Lora took a few small steps forward and paused. She watched as a pair of sailors struggled to lift a sail on their small wooden boat. They seemed to be quarreling about something but their shouts were lost in the voices of the crowd that surrounded Lora.

“But… maybe we should stay here. At least for a bit.” Lora mused. “We walked the whole way here, I’d hate for it to have been for nothing.” She doubted that even if they did leave now it would have been for nothing. She had got to see this place again and something about being back here, even for this short time, seemed to help her remember what it was like to live here before.

“I think I would like to walk around for a bit before we leave. Then maybe we can go to the bazaar.” Lora smiled and began to walk further into the bazaar.

As she continued, she was even more surrounded by crowds of people and salty scent of fish. She looked around and her eyes fixed on the murky water just over the sides of the docks. It was far less clear than any of the water in Mura had been and, unlike Mura’s water, didn’t make Lora immediately want to jump in. Although it was different, there was definitely something interesting about it. There was something interesting about everything Lora saw in Syliras.

He was a bit sad about her leaving the gift he gave her all those years ago back in Mura, but it was understandable. This place has not changed much in a long time.

“Well, there was one other place I have been wanting to visit. The place where we first met. Do you remember? No, I doubt you do. It was so long ago. The bazaar. It would be lovely if we could visit the bazaar, if that is alright with you, that is. ”

"I'll lead you wherever you want to go, seeing the city is what I offered and I would want to show you what you would like to see of this city. The bazaar is, like always, busy. Food carts here and there, merchants hawking their wares, people walking around." He thought for a moment and gave a soft smile. "I would love to walk around the bazaar with you."

“But… maybe we should stay here. At least for a bit. We walked the whole way here, I’d hate for it to have been for nothing.”

"It wasn't for nothing, I get to spend more time with you." He said and blushed, then looked away. "W-Well, there's not much here, aside from the tavern close by. The Broken Casket I think it was called, most sailors go there, but I... tend to avoid that place, I mean the drinks are cheap and good, but I sorta had an assignment a season ago where I had to disguise myself, I fear that if they saw me, they would know I wasn't actually just a patron."

He looked around and saw a few stalls here and there selling fish and meat, the meat was not as fresh as the ones in the bazaar but the fish was the freshest in the whole city. It might not be a bad idea to do a bit of grocery shopping for Lora to cook home.

"Lora, what do you plan on doing in the bazaar anyway? Just walking around? If you're thinking of buying supplies, I'd suggest buying fish here, it's much fresher here than in the bazaar, and for the same price, sometimes less." He said thoughtfully, he had not practiced cooking... anything in long while now, not since the soup...

Garland shivered in the thought but still, it wouldn't hurt to maybe try his hand in it again, he did learn a few things from Orin a few seasons back, and he's sure Bakar wouldn't mind him using her place to cook since, he couldn't exactly cook in the squire dorms.

Lora’s face turned a shade of scarlet as Garland talked about getting to spend time with her. She smiled sheepishly and glanced away. She had always thought of Garland was nothing but a friend, maybe not even that, more of a friendly acquaintance. From what he was saying, it seemed to Lora like he wanted to be more than that. Lora wasn’t sure what her opinion was on that. Worried over the thought of what this idea might mean, she expelled it from her mind. She instead tried to focus on Garlan’s description of a nearby tavern.

“I suppose we should not go there, then.” Lora replied, good naturedly. She had never been one to greatly enjoy taverns, especially not rowdy ones full of drunk sailors. “What was it that caused you to need to disguise yourself anyway? If you don’t mind telling, that is.” Lora had found his mention of the incident rather vague and a bit intriguing so she pressed for details.

"Lora, what do you plan on doing in the bazaar anyway? Just walking around? If you're thinking of buying supplies, I'd suggest buying fish here, it's much fresher here than in the bazaar, and for the same price, sometimes less." Garland said.

“No, not supplies. Not today at least.” Lora replied. “I just wanted to walk around. I have not been there since returning to the city and I thought it would be nice to do. I don’t have any money on me anyways.” She explained herself. Why don’t I have any money on me? She thought suddenly, trying to remember why she had left her house in the first place. She remembered now. She had only left the house to go for a brief, morning walk. It must have been at least afternoon by now, judging from the sun and she had still not returned. Glad she had had no plans for the day, she grinned at the interesting turn of events her walk had taken.

Lora continued to stroll around for a bit watching the sky and the people and everything around her. It was all so interesting but the sheer business of the place made it impossible to take it all in. Despite this she eventually began to grow a bit tired with the scenery that didn’t seem to change much as they walked. While it was clearly changing, it was all just more of the same.

“As you said, there isn’t much here.” Frowning even as the words came out of her mouth, Lora corrected herself. “There is plenty here. I only mean that it is not all that interesting without intending to buy anything. Maybe now we should continue to the bazaar. Only to look around. If that is ok with you.” Lora paused again. “Unless you wanted to buy something here. You spoke so highly of the fish, did you want to buy some? If you did, I would love to stay.” Lora smiled at him and waited for his reply.

Garland looked around a bit, looking over to the tavern he mentioned. "Yeah, it was a little while back, the Sverfa people were getting a lot of hate from other people for some reason, even the honest working ones, and I needed to get information, I caught a guy with a help from a few friends, the guy we caught was a merchant and was a friend to the knights from what I've been told, now though he's probably in the mines or the Tank."

Garland rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Well... Can you tell me about your life? I mean, Mura sounds wonderful and rather peaceful. Though I bet there have been a few adventures there before."

Garland agreed to go to the bazaar, it might be fun, just looking around at the objects and items there. "Stay close okay? I don't want to look for you there, it might take all day." He smiled and walked along with her.

As they were walking he couldn't help but think if he should tell her about April. He had been debating that since they started walking together. No matter how many times he shook the idea out of his head, it kept coming back in force.

Maybe it might be a good time to tell her when they find a place to rest from their day of walking around.

As the two of them finally made their way to the bazaar, the streets were busy, bustling with activity, the merchants and carts and stores were all hawking their goods at the passerbys. Some were expensive fabrics and exotic foods, others were local commodities. There was something for everyone here.

Garland noticed a small stall, selling pastries he was very familiar with, it seemed the cart he bought pastries from all those years ago had set up a stall in the bazaar. He checked himself over, trying to find his coin purse, sadly he must have forgotten it back home.

"Umm... Sorry, I was hoping to treat you to something, but it seemed that I left my mizas back home." He said a bit saddened by the thought. "Though has this place changed much at all? I've been here plenty of times so I don't exactly remember every time I've been here, especially all those years ago."

Lora nodded. “My life in Mura was very peaceful. It was nice.” She replied to Garland asking about her life. “Although, my mother passed away while we were there.” Lora stared down at her feet. Her voice grew plaintive. “That's why we moved. Because she was...sick. I just wish…” Lora felt tears welling up in her eyes but she blinked them away as she continued to stare at her moving feet.

In a lot of ways, being back in Syliras had made her think about her mother. The last time she had lived her she had been with her mother. In fact, every time she lived here she had been with her. As she walked through these familiar streets she couldn’t help but think of when she had done the very same thing with her mom. Now, going to all these places reminded her of when she went to all these places with her.

Lora had thought she had moved past this back in Mura. She had. But now, being back in this city, it was all coming back.

Lora giggled sniffed lightly as Garland told her stay close. She tried to push the thought of her mother to the back of her mind where she always kept it. “Longer. That place is huge, it could take weeks.” She joked with a grin. “Although, that's assuming it's still the same size as it was before. It is, right? I’d imagine it to grow, if anything.” Her face faded to a more thoughtful expression. She tried to remember if there was any room there for the Bazaar to grow. It was already fairly jam packed.

As Lora and Garland walked into the Bazaar Lora was unsurprised by the crowds of people that surrounded her. This place seemed even busier than the docks had been. There were stalls all around selling as many different products as one could imagine. It ranged from clothing to live animals and much more.

The variety of the products being sold had always been Lora’s favorite part of going to Bazaar. One could always find something interesting being sold. This made trips to the Bazaar a delight when she was a child and even if she was just to look around, she would often end up buying something.

“Oh, that's more than alright. Here, I’ll-” Lora quickly checked her body for her own coins before remembering that she too had left her mizas at home. “I do not have any coins on me either. I would have bought you something if I did. Sorry.”

“Really, it has changed very little since I left. Of course the stalls are different but the feel of the place certainly has not changed. It is still just as bustling and happening as it ever was.”

”Hey, look at this!” Lora said excitedly. She pulled on Garland’s hand as she weaved toward the stall that had distracted her.

The table was covered in intricate little clay figurines. The figures of animals and people and other scenery were scattered across the wooden surface creating little scenes either on purpose or by accident. Lora couldn’t tell if they were set up to create the scenes or if it was just her imagination. Either way, the tiny figure intrigued her.

“Aren’t they adorable?” She said half to herself and half to Garland.

Garland stayed silent when Lora started talking about her mother. He couldn't give any comfort since he doesn't know his mother and the closest thing he had to a mother was his Patron.

She dragged him towards a little shop selling little clay figures and clay knickknacks. Then suddenly the little clay figures started to move. They were Pycons pretending to be just clay figurines. They gave a little bow and start doing a little dance.

The Pycons looked like they were doing a play of some kind, or they were promoting the other non-living clay figures. "They're pretty good." Garland said, examining the silly scenes that were being played out in front of him.

Though as good as they are, they will most likely never get a bigger stage than this, the stages in the theater are simply too big for them and they are too small for anyone not in the front to see them.

It seemed that the little play attracted a few people, but mostly children. They awed and gaped at the little stunts the Pycons were doing. Some of the children begged their parents to buy one, thinking they were toys.

Garland smiled softly, there was a man behind the table, making things with clay, and more Pycons in the back were painting them in various pretty colors. The mine wiped off the clay on his hands and went out.

"Welcome! I see that my friends have brought you here!" He went over and picked up one of the Pycons. The Pycon bowed sweetly at the onlookers. The man took out a few things from under the table, mostly toys and pottery. "I'm a seller of various things, toys for children, pottery and kitchenry for the parents and a few other miscellaneous objects."

Garland shook his head and smiled. "Sorry, we're just looking." He thought about where they should go next, Garland stepped aside, letting the other costumers take a look at the merchant's wares.

There were little other attractions Garland could think of. The only other place in the city that can be considered an attraction is the Fighter's Pits and he didn't think she would want to go there.

Of course there was also the orphanage, they could go and talk with the children, maybe play a few games, Lora does seem the maternal type. Then again, they have been walking for the whole day now, and soon the sun may set soon.

"Hey, Lora. Is there there any other place you want to go? I would suggest we head outside the walls and maybe to the springs or walk through the forests, but it is getting late."

Lora gasped in surprise as the little clay figures began to move. They were Pycons! Grinning, Lora watched the little people perform what appeared to be a play. They moved gracefully over the smooth surface of the table, making small thuds whenever their feet hit its hard surface. Showing off their moves and helping to advertise what was being sold.

“They’re pretty good.” Garland said. Reluctantly, Lora tore her eyes away from the show and glanced over at him.

“I think they are brilliant!” She announced excitedly. Turning her attention back to the Pycons, Lora barely noticed the crowd of young children assembling around her. They all stared, as transfixed as she was, at the little moving clay figures.

It wasn’t long before the owner of the stall took notice of the growing crowd and began to advertise his wares. He closer to the people and began to announce what he sold, enticing everyone to buy.

“Sorry, we’re just looking.” Garland supplied the words Lora was thinking and then began to walk away from the table.

“Yes,” She seconded Garland. “But all of your things are very nice.” With that, Lora followed Garland. He hadn’t gone very far but she had to weave through the crown to be catch up with him.

"Hey, Lora. Is there there any other place you want to go? I would suggest we head outside the walls and maybe to the springs or walk through the forests, but it is getting late." Garland said.

“Is it?” Lora looked around instinctively for the sun but of course it was nowhere to be seen. Now that she thought about it, they had been walking around for a while. Had it really been all day? Lora frowned as she thought she had wasted the whole day. No, not wasted. She definitely hadn’t wasted the day. “I suppose it must be. Heading outside the walls this late would not be wise.” Lora agreed. “Maybe we should go home? At Least for now. We should set up a time and meet again. That way we will not lose track of each other like last time.” She smiled.

Lora realized that she did want to see Garland again. She realized she would be rather upset if she lost him another time. She frowned and wondered why she felt so strongly about that. Attempting to shake the unsettling feeling, she continued to speak. “We should go outside to talk about that. It is rather loud in here. I think it would be easier to talk elsewhere.”

Weaving through the crowds thick with people, Lora began to make her way toward the exit to the Bazaar and what she hoped was a much less crowded place to talk.

They hadn’t made it that far into the Bazaar so, even with the ever present crowds of people, it didn’t take long until they made it out onto the much less crowded street. Searching around for some kind of alley way, something that might be a little quieter, Lora was dismayed to find nothing. With no clear alley’s in sight, Lora made her way a little down the road and then walked over close to the grey stone wall of a building so they would not be in the way of the flow of people.

“When’s a good time? For you that is. I havn’t really got many plans so any time will work for me. Oh, and where? Somewhere outside the walls, since you suggested that earlier or would you like to meet somewhere else?” Lora burst out the questions.

He would love to spend more time with her, and plan a day out with her. Though it seemed to him that he might be a bit busy this season. He didn't want to let her down, but sadly he won't have much time in Fall.

"I would love to spend the day with you, but I can't, well, not now." He thought about April and his children, he wondered if he'll ever meet them, but he wanted to at least be available to his children when or if they would come.

He paused and thought for a bit. "Well... We can go out during the winter season, the snow around here is beautiful." He thought for a bit. "There may come a time I might need your help with... umm... something, I can't tell you right now, but I think you'll know when you see them." He said and gave a soft smile to show her that he wasn't in any trouble.

"Come on, let's get you home before it gets too dark, it gets very cold here at night." He said and led the way out of the bazaar and looked around. "Hey, umm... Where are you staying, I don't exactly know where you stay." He asked and rubbed his chin, he somewhat remembers her old home near here, but it has long since been occupied by new tenants and it doesn't look like they're planning on moving soon.

"Do you mind leading the way?" He followed Lora, he was right behind her and looked up to the sky, the sun was far away now, it was setting, casting the city in an orange glow.

He paused and stared at the setting sun, this wasn't the best place to watch a sunset, but he never really had time to watch many sunsets.

By the time they reached her house, he wasn't sure if he should just leave or something. "Umm... I would love to spend more time with you eventually. Next time we should really take a walk in the woods. It'll be fun, I would think." He twiddled his thumbs like a nervous teenager, which right now, he was.

Lora smiled and nodded as Garland suggested they meet in winter. She opened her mouth to confirm the idea but Garland continued talking.

“There may come a time I might need your help with... umm... something, I can't tell you right now, but I think you'll know when you see them.” He said. She seemed to be more talking to himself than to her, and she had no idea what he was talking about. She stared, wondering if she had missed something.

“Wha-” She began, but she stopped herself. The tone in Garland’s voice told her it was something personal, something he was not going to tell her. Not wanting to press the subject, she dropped her eyes to the ground.

Garland broke the silence by offering to take Lora home. Lora smiled, momentarily forgetting the secret that she did not know. “That sounds lovely.”

Suddenly, Garland announced that he didn’t know where Lora lived. Her mouth pulled into a frown but not a sad one, a thoughtful one. It took her a moment but then Lora was able to supply the informations. “I live in Traveler’s Row. Number 38.” Lora began to lead the way through the streets toward the place she now called her home.

At least she thought this was the right way. She wasn’t really sure. They had come in such a roundabout way from her house, that she didn’t know what the shortest route back was. Lora tried to rely on the memories she had from the time she had lived here as a child. It had been such a long time. Between the old memories and her minimal understanding of the streets, Lora was able to eventually make her way back toward her house. As they approached the row of dwellings, Garland stopped.

Lora turned around. She almost asked why he had stopped but then she saw the look on his face. It was so peaceful. He looked amazed. Lora smiled and watched him. She could see from the corner of her eye the pretty sunset falling from the sky but she could only watch him.

As the sun fell below the horizon, Garland moved his attention from the sky and Lora quickly averted her eyes, hoping he didn’t notice her looking at him.

They continued without a word until they reached the doorsteps of Lora’s house. Garland commented on how they should meet again.

“I agree. Next time, we should go to the woods. That sounds lovely.” Lora slid up onto her toes and then back down. She clasping her hands in front of her, she continued. “When is a good time then? Next month then. How is the 4th? Of winter, that is.” She suggested, picking a random date.

Lora moved and opened her front door. She giggled lightly. “Bye, then. This has been amazing. I can’t wait to see you again.”

Lora took a step into the doorway. Looking back again. Lora smiled. She didn’t really want to leave him but she new she had to. Reluctantly, she waved, stepped further into the house. Flashing a final smile, she creaked the door shut.

Now, all she could do was wait excitedly for their next visit.
