Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

83rd Winter: :
Two days of battle have passed, and the third day dawns above desolate scenes. The fighting intensifies to the strongest seen yet, and under the leadership of the Speakers and members of the Craven family, the people of Alvadas fight back against the rising, writhing hordes of undead. However, the force and intensity of the undead threat lessens dramatically as the night of that day falls, and the forces of the 'army' are able to push forward right up to the edges of Alvadas, killing any remaining monsters in sight. There are numerous holes in the wall where the undead appear to have pushed through from outside in Mizahar, but if it is Mizahar nobody can tell, as it is cast in shadowy darkness and because of that, featureless. With two bells until the night turns to day, two people appear at every breach, guarding these holes. However, despite the curious nature of an Alvad, not one chooses to explore the holes. There is an uneasy feeling about them that is hard to push away.

Details:

  • Nobody can get past the guardians. Upon inspection, they do not speak, eat or go to the bathroom. They could be statues, until you try to push past them, where they become immensely strong and stop anyone from passing using any means necessary. Their appearances vary, but all are plain, mostly human and all about the same height- roughly 6 ft.

84th-86th Winter: :
The last of the trailing undead are sought out and killed, mercilessly. Any and all Nuit are treated with intense dislike and hostility, and a half-broken house is used as a temporary home for any Nuit found, so they can, in theory, be 'safe'. It comes to be known as 'The Scream', despite the fact that no noise can be heard. Despite the fact that the city is still self-enclosed, a circular plaza, like an imprint of the 'normal' Alvadas left behind the door, appears in the middle of the city overnight on the 85th. This circle has a door, entirely similar, except with a black inverted triangle etched into the wood, plain and unassuming.

If the handle is pulled open and someone steps through, they simply appear on the other side, as if it is an empty frame. However, if someone is to put their hand through, and grasp at what they find, they will pull through a strand of yarn or thread. Overnight, and for the rest of the days to follow, these threads are used by various citizens to make a tapestry, which undulates from the door and is an ever-growing, nonsensical pattern of nothingness and everything, in an explosion of colour. It becomes a great source of exploration, and becomes wide enough to cover the circular centre of Alvadas.

Details:

  • Thread pulled from the door is tailored (pardon the pun) to the individual. If you are pale and wispy and prone to anxiety, then the thread will be pale, thin and fraying at the edges. If you are curious, the thread will seem to have a life of its own.
  • If you can’t sew/weave, you can still make something! The Weaving is a community event, and quality isn’t an issue.
  • 'The Scream' and the dislike of Nuits is something the Speakers don't approve of. However, they don't seem to have a reaction yet...
  • 'The Scream' houses only a few Nuit. Any that fail to hide who they are can be found here. It is not a prison as such, but merely a 'safe' place.

87th-91st Winter: :
On the 87th, seemingly from nowhere, children appear from behind doors and houses, with most making their way to the tapestry that has been rapidly growing as is known as 'The Weaving'. It becomes a place where people become reunited, and festivities spring up, running until the end of the season, as various parts of Alvadas appear again, slowly but surely.

There is a lot of damage and mess on the streets from the aftermath of the battle still, and various teams of builders can be seen, weaving in and out of the streets, despite the occasional shift of venue.

It seems Alvadas is recovering, but there is still the feeling of a wounded animal, or perhaps the crazed path of a broken spinning top. Some citizens seem fearful, whilst others praise Ionu loudly and jubilantly. 'The Weaving' gets larger and larger, and it grows almost without input. It covers most buildings like moss, and built into its design are houses, small lakes, roads, gardens... anything that is in Alvadas is contained within the tapestry. It is said that if someone sews a location into the tapestry, the actual location will appear.

The Gaping Maw suddenly appears in the repaired walls of the city, and an influx of cut-off Alvads arrive in the city. There is still a feeling of unease that is hard to shake, but Alvads give it their best efforts, and the party redoubles.

Details:

  • The making of the Weaving corresponds with the healing of the city. Anything, within reason, that is sewn into the tapestry appears in Alvadas. People who don’t enter the door to fight on the 81st appear at the same time as the children (i.e. the 87th.) This is when the two ‘separate’ Alvadas’ merge and become one.
  • The above detail is a commonly believed rumour.
  • All lost locations, inc. the Underground can now be found again, and the city appears in the valley like 'normal'.
  • Think of it as a giant blanket covering every available surface!

If there are any questions, and I hope that there are, please send me a PM and I will answer you to the best of my ability. I apologise that there is only a short time left until Spring, but I've done the best that I can. I'm now working on the Spring plot, and hopefully it'll be a good one!

Remember, always be on your toes, and never stop questioning your surroundings.
