Winter, 515 AV :
Trade, hunting and fresh harvests are near impossible to come by in winter. Citizens will be buying preserved food from the Autumn's stores. This winter, however, the stores run out quickly and on the 42nd, Seanja advises placing rations on food. Subsequently, the drugs flow more freely as the citizens need something to distract from their empty stomachs. Agitation within the citizen's grows, partially fueled by the Towers. But without a functioning Council, no real harm comes of the displeasure throughout the season.
With the less food comes less work. Although businessmen work to encourage people to stay busy, random days off become more and more common. Yet nighttime celebrations seem to grow.
Last season's landslide has left a scar in both the people and the land. The Akka, and a few volunteers, work to try to heal the scar the slide has left on the Zintia Peak. It is too cold to rebuild a foundation and there is no skyglass to create new buildings, so the Akka cannot do much, yet the action is seen as a tribute to Semele more than any actual attempt to regain the lost part of the city. The site is off limits to citizens, but creates an eery hole open to the wilderness below that the Lhavitians are not used to. Okomo seem to steer clear of the hole, so citizens take it as an example and stay away as well.
The Amaranthine Gates are all but closed for the season. Even with very few visitors throughout the year, no one really expects any travellers through the Unforgiving this time of year. The Tranquil Port remains open, until it freezes over, of course.
N [52nd] Midwinter Festival - The Midwinter Festival of Lhavit is an important one in the city, as the people symbolize it as a balance and union in the cosmos. It’s specifically held on the day with the longest night and is celebrated as the beginning of the positive, energized days to come. Most, if not all, families unite on this festival and prepare large tables laden with delicious meals all around Zintia Peak, including special dishes that symbolize renewal.
D [61st] Aviakittis - Those from Lhavit consider the extra days in Winter 'stolen' and honor this sentiment at the start of each season. Citizens take a moment utterly relax, deeming it the day of ritual and rejuvenation. Many visit the local bathhouses and spas. Many children are conceived on this day, as spouses use the time to truly honor one another. People everywhere draw in a breath of tranquility in preparation for the new year.
N [88th] The Azure Festival - This wild holiday is a held on the 88th of Winter; it is both pious and extravagant. During the day, families take off work to pay visits to the local temples, honoring the Gods. During the evening, loved ones exchange gifts, most often star-shaped cookies and pastries. Most bakeries and restaurants remain open through the dusk rest bells to allow solidary citizens to remain with company. When the nighttime bells strike, the celebration truly begins. In honor of their beloved Alvina, natives don celestial masquerade and flood the city streets. Each of the five peaks has a different theme, which changes every year, and Zintia is often central to the debauchery. This is the holiday of Winter love, singles and couples alike exchanging gifts of attraction. The party wears on through the night and ends at the following dawn.
Here is the following list of challenges for this season. Please be sure to pay attention to the night and day marking the beginning of each challenge. You won't get credit, otherwise!

D [33rd] A class of twelve-year-olds from the Alluvion Academy visit the Library on a field trip. One child goes missing and an alarm is risen. He is found sleeping in the Geography section during the noon rest hour.
N [38th] Ready to be done with the spirit rumors, the head librarian calls for a spiritist's help with the supposed spirit. He is worried the recent renovations have awoken it and does not want that to interfere with business. QUEST: Brandon & Kaik.
D [42nd] After consulting with Seanja, Talora announces that the winter stores are now being rationed. There are no words from Aysel, but his seal is on the announcement. Official holiday feasts are still provided for, but every day preserves have lessened considerably.
N [47th] The Tranquil Port Freezes over, but no one is down the mountains to notice.
N [52nd] Not long after the rationing is called, it is broken to provide for the Midwinter festival. Even Talora comes out during the night for the festival entertained by the quickly drunk Aysel, although not many recognize her mortal form. Open Prompt.
D [61st] When the snow finally falls to the streets and stay there, Aviakittis is held. Only restaurants and teahouses remain open to provide for those who don't wish to cook their own feast.
D [72nd] A citizen claims to see Zintila heading down the path to the Amaranthine Gate during the noon rest hour, and speculation arises as to where she is going. However, most don't believe the rumor and the speculation are little more than fantastic stories between children.
N [81st] During the snowy days leading up the Azure festival, adults and children spend their time inside. To pass the leisure time at night, friends and families gather together to craft masks celebrating their peak's chosen theme.
N [88th] The Azure Festival is held. Open Prompt.
D [90th] The Spring Harvest is being planted and the hunters return down the mountain to get fresh meat for the city. The rationing will be lifted with the turn of the season.

The Shinyama Peak celebrates the winds and citizens build elaborate masks with long flowing fabrics hanging off the ends. The Zintia Peak chooses gems for their theme, and the masks sparkle with dust and bright colors. The Tenten have chosen the time to celebrate and citizens create their masks to look like the clocks or the moon cycle. The Sartu Peak's theme is Sculptures, and masks hold extra components building up and over the wearer's head and across their shoulders to show elaborate walking figures.

Throughout the first half of the season, winds pick up on the mountain tops. Traversing the streets on the edges of the peaks are not advised, because of the force of the wind. Okomos, who seem to have little issue with Zulrav's forces, are more generously helping stragglers make their way deeper into the city were the buildings protect them from the strong gales.
The winter is dry, and there is no true rain. Light snowfall is melted by the warm skyglass to offer an illusion of ice cold drizzles, but not one spark of lightning is seen all season.
Temperatures within the peaks with more skyglass (Shinyama, Zintia, Tenten, and Sartu) remain around 45-55°F (around 7 to 12°C) on the streets. When the snow starts sticking to the ground near the middle of the season, temperatures drop to about 35-45°F (around 1 to 7°C) before raising back to their usual temperatures. The Sharai Peak finds its average temperatures around 30-45°F (around -1 to 7°C). In the middle of the season, temperature drops to about 10°F (around -12°C) as the snow builds up. When the snow has stopped falling but not yet melted, the temperatures raise back to what they were previous. Hardworking citizens volunteer to help scoop out the trails of the peak, once they are sure the worst of the snow is over.
Clouds filled with snow cover the sky for most of the season, yet the season still remains devoted to Leth. Astronomers, able to predict the moon's phases, announce them to the citizens and they celebrate anyway. To a Lhavitian, any reason is a good reason for a party.
New Moons: 11th, 40th, 70th
Full Moons: 25th, 54th, 84th

Light snowfall: Can be seen above the warm glow of the city, but doesn't reach the streets as anything more than a chilly drizzle. The parts of the Sharai Peak that have no skyglass get 1-2 inches (about 2-5 cm) of snow that quickly turns to slush.

- On the occasion of full moons, just back dusk rest, ballads are composed for Leth in the streets and citizens tend to take their drinks and drugs more freely for the festivities those nights.
- The Astronomers at the Gateway announce the largest full moon of the year at the beginning of the season. Families gather for a celebratory meal just after dusk rest and await the almost imperceptible difference in size of the moon. Even without being able to actually see the size difference, the city celebrates.
