The westernmost tip of Kalea, Wind Reach is home to an amazing group of people and their giant eagle mounts. [Lore]
As Morwen's influence recedes, the people of Wind Reach are able to roam outside once more. Despite the appeasement of Zulrav, Wind Reach and Thunder Bay are still subject to a number of strong and violent storms, which makes hunting hazardous for the city's providers. Even as the weather improves, it will cause problems with an early heatwave affecting activity in the mountain. Even the mountain is being affected this spring season with volcanic activity present later in the city although it isn't considered too worrisome.
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Spring. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.

Thread Goals for Spring
What is a thread goal? Each season Wind Reach’s storytellers will provide a list of suggested ‘to do’ events for the characters here. These to-do threads are in no way required, but are simply for fun.
Spring 514AV is March, April, and May of real time. There are four thread suggestions a month starting in March and ending in May for the season of Spring(we'll start over in Summer). That means there is a potential of twelve threads (players choice at length) a person can do for each season. If a player completes all the thread challenges in one month, they get special recognition in this Calendar Thread under Hall of Fame. If all challenges are completed in the season - they get a medal. A super medal is awarded for all seasons of the year (that is four) with all threads done (that’s 48). Threads need not be completed in the month they are posted in. Instead they simply need to be finished in some way or another (even if someone drops out we can complete them right?) to count.
Now, in terms of thread themes, the suggestions can be fast and loose in regards to however your character wants to spin the goal for the week. If your PC isn’t into flirting, then have them ‘flirt’ with a stray animal in Wind Reach and try to befriend it. If your PC isn’t into fighting with others, post a whole thread about fighting with yourself where you talk to and argue with yourself. Understand?
Also, if PC’s outside of Wind Reach would like to participate in this challenge, they are welcome too.
March (2014) 1. Be threatened with a weapon. 2. Befriend an unlikely person. 3. Celebrate the end of the Famine. 4. Attend a competition.
April (2014) 1. Help to repair the damage in Thunder Bay. 2. Teach a Yasi something. 3. Accidentally kill something. 4. Fight with someone or something.
May (2014) 1. Overreact. 2. Return a lost item. 3. Visit a new place. 4. Suffer from sunstroke.
Wind Reach has always appreciated its players input. Knowing what the PC's and those behind them want not only make a Storytellers job easier, but also allows for situations to be created or customized specifically to those within Wind Reach.
The Seasonal Open event is an attempt to do just that, while giving the opportunity to participate in a citywide event that doesn't require Storyteller assistance. This allows players to control their surroundings, assuming they stay within the rules and guidelines..
Spring 514 Events
As well as the Spring Event, we are also going to have a constant OOC event. This way, even if a PC can't participate in the IC event for one reason or another, the Player can still have some fun!!
Remember: You can also get Perk Points for participating! The Treasure Nest has more information on Perk Points if you are unfamiliar with the store.
For this seasons events you can get perk points for participating for completed threads (for the IC event) as well as the points for developing Legend/Game/Holiday, whatever you end up choosing (for the OOC event).
In Character Event
After finding their goods scattered from the market after the storm on the 40th, the merchants of the market have offered a variety of rewards to those who can safely return what they have lost. Some items were scattered by strong winds, others were taken and moved elsewhere by Dek. Your goal is to try to find these items. Rewards can be taken from the list below and you may choose what you like from it. Out of Character Event
Wind Reach and the Inarta in general have a very rich culture. Yes, they have a hard life and they have to struggle in almost everything that they do, but they are better off for it. However, we don't have very much to show that lore wise. Gossamer created a gorgeous city and a beautiful race but we want more.
With a race that depends greatly on each and every person for survival, are left trapped within their own city for almost two seasons thanks to the weather and are an open, bubbly and wild people you would expect many stories, lores, songs, traditions, etc.
However, we have very few of those actually written up. So this is what I'm asking of any of you that are interested:
Write up something, whether it be a childrens song that is sung to the Yasi at nap time or in that rare case when a mother is tucking her child into bed. It could be a story passed down from generation to generation, or the lore of the first Wind Eagle and Endal ever. Let your imagination run wild.
Once you have completed your submission, post it to the Community Development Thread, where it can be reviewed, approved, and added to the lore!
Some Ideas:

Summer 512 :
Summer 512 Event
There is nothing better than tragedy make to us hyper aware of our own mortality. In Wind Reach, death by starvation is always within sight, just a few failed hunting expeditions away. With the Wild Storm having wrecked havoc on Wind Reach, the Inartans begin to feel the pressure of the impending difficult season; Spring gives way to Summer and the entire city sets to work gathering and storing for the Winter.
Spring found the city recuperating, Wind Eagles deformed or broken to the extent that there was hardly anyone to bring home the much needed game. Hunting expeditions just weren't happening. No one noticed the strange things happening outside their ruined city walls. Summer brought the first large hunting party in a long while; excitement and tension were both thick in the air. Stomachs grumbled in anticipation and the thought of fresh meat. If only they knew what would be coming back...
The Wild Djed hit Wind Reach and The Unforgiving surrounding the mountain with an intensity unmatched anywhere else on Mizahar. While the Inartans were able to get out of the main blast, those poor creatures in the forest and skies were not so lucky. Reports of strange creatures in the forests began streaming in once the season started; physical deformities, strange colors, changed personalities and super intelligent animals were the most numerous among those who ventured out into the forest.
The Purpose:
Players are encouraged to venture out into the Unforgiving and Thunderbay this season and take advantage of these awesome changes. Having to work hard for every morsel of food that reaches any mouth, no opportunity is wasted to get more. No part of any creature is wasted when it can be used to benefit the population.
An inspiring entrepreneur within the city has set a demand for the amazing creatures that have spawned right in their laps. Jumping on this opportunity to bring more food into the city, The Valintar has sponsored this city wide event.
How it Works:
Players may participate in the event either solo or in groups.
Players may also create multiple threads.
Make sure to have proper equipment and skill if you're going to participate. Disregarding this may result in Storyteller intervention- and you might not like what happens.
Keep it relatively simple. Don't create new creatures.
All spoils and/or money will be awarded when the thread is turned in for grading.
Creatures don't have to be killed. They can be trapped or caught depending on their species (Obviously, you're not going to be able to bring a live bear back.)
A * next to an animal means it requires Endal presence.
The Creatures: Below is a list of creatures that have been effected by the storm and are available for players in this Event.
The Kill List: These animals can be used for food, clothing or tradable wares.
Red/White tailed and Fallow Deer
Cougar
Bobcat
Ram/Sheep
Wolf
Bear*
Sky Goat
Rabbit
Squirrel (all types)
Elk
Fox
Raccoon
Badger
Martin
Mice/Rats
Reptiles (Snakes, lizards)

Wild Turkey
The Capture List:These creatures are sacred to the city and should be captured and brought back alive.
Falcon
Hawk
Eagle
Owl
Sparrow
Bay Gull
Crow

Fall 512 :

Winter 512 :
Winter 512 Events
For the Winter Season, we're going to have a combination of an OOC as well as an IC event. This way, even if a PC can't participate in the IC event for one reason or another, the Player can still have some fun!!
Remember: You can also get Perk Points for participating! The Treasure Nest has more information on Perk Points if you are unfamiliar with the store.
For this seasons events you can get the 50 perk points for participating, as well as the points for completed threads (for the IC event) as well as the points for developing Legend/Game/Holiday, whatever you end up choosing (for the OOC event).
In Character Event
This seasons IC event will be bunches of fun! Instead of offering everyone a special modded thread (because I would never be able to keep up with them all) we have come up with a fun idea to still give you the unexpected twist of a modded thread with no modding required!
So here is what happens: You pick a number between 1 and 30 and PM that number to Phoenix. She, Invictus and Sphinx have all put their heads together and come up with a bunch of different scenarios and listed them, yes you guessed it, 1 through 30. The number you pick corresponds with the number on our list and that is the information that will be provided to you in the response PM.
Each number contains a different scenario in which your PC encounters a mysterious box. Each occurrence has something completely different happen and your PC has react in a thread of your own (either solo or with another player, should you choose.) Each event is left vague and open ended so that you, the player, must make the decisions and get creative with it! When your thread is finished, you can submit it for grading and receive a little extra something along with your XP/Lores.
Make sure to state what number you chose and mark clearly in your request that this thread was for the Winter IC Event.
But most of all... have fun!!!

Thunder Bay is booming! The Inarta have begun to brave the treck down to the Bay as the Seasons grow progressively warmer and have taken quite a liking to the luxury of having the sun, sand, and water so close to home!
In response to this new boom of activity, a few events have sprung up within Thunder Bay!
Summer 513, Day 5- A Sandcastle Contest is held in Thunder Bay. All ages and Castes are welcome to try their hand at building the best, most creative Sand Castle! Teams are allowed, and Prizes will be awarded to all participants!
Summer 513, Day 25- Thanks to Claudette, a Ice Sculpture competition is happening at midday in Thunder Bay! Teams are allowed and Prizes will be awarded to all participants.
Summer 513, Day 45- Endal returning from a Trade Route bring back a magical stash of fishing poles! These poles look and act like a normal fishing pole except for the fact that they catch a fish on every cast! Because of this, anyone with any skill in fishing can participate in the Fishing Competition!
Given to Phaurd and though not for sale, these poles are lent out for the Fishing competition and must be returned at the end of the competition or else the rule breaker will face disqualification and repercussions for their actions. No Teams allowed and Prizes will be awarded to all participants!
For all those who participate in all three competitions, a special prize will be awarded!

Things are getting bad in the sky high city, between storms, relentless winds, and starvation. No caste is safe from suffering, all feeling the effects, including the Endal and Eagles. Recreation has been cancelled and fun is a thing of memory as it is now a mad dash to just see the next sunrise, let alone the sunset. The pressure placed on the hunters this season is immense, and all are feeling its weight. With the requirement of them having new apprentices too, it has become infinitely more dangerous, and many simply do not return.
The IC challenge this season: LIVE. Those who highlight the struggles of the winter best will receive 50 perk points this season. It's cold, it's windy, and there is very little food. This is not just for the hunters; even the city-bound citizens are eligible for this challenge.
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Winter. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Winter 513 AV
Overview
The weather is relentless this season as Zulrav shadows the city, bludgeoning it with storm after storm while his Priest searches for the Despised within Wind Reach's stone walls. All of the hunters are struggling to bring in their haul each trip. Successful trips are few and far between and the teams are forced to stay out longer and longer each time. The Enclave holds regular training sessions every ten day for hunters and has recruited some of the Yasi to help keep the library in order when the teams are there. Strange nightmares plague all of those who were there during the Blue Elk hunt, speaking among themselves of this strange urge to go south to something.
The closing of many of the Wind Reach recreational facilities for the season has further raised the tension and fights are frequent. Seasoned War Hawk Endal are asked to patrol the corridors to help sort any disputes as quickly and non-violently as possible. But not all can be pleased and not every fight is broken up in time. The starving lower caste and jobless are simply not appeased and whispers spread like wildfire through the Chiet and Dek, and the food thieves discovery does little to dampen the building anger. Spring cannot come fast enough.
92nd – Winter Ends; the nightmares that the Blue Elk hunters have been suffering hit a climax *Blue Elk Event

Welcome to the Wind Reach Calendar!
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Fall. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Fall 513 AV
With the unusually warmer temperatures of Summer, early Fall shows promise of being one dozy of a season. The warmth and humidity of the previous season have set Mt. Skyinarta, Sanikas Valley, Thunder Bay, and Kavinah Bay up for some climactic weather. Thunder Bay and Wind Reach experience two powerful noreasters that send citizens deep into the volcano-city for shelter while smaller squalls out on the waters make hauling that seasons nets even more of a challenge. Endal and Fishermen alike struggle to pull in meat to help see the city through the upcoming winter. Because of the awful weather, both Thunder Bay and Sanikas Road close earlier than usual and the Inartans wonder if they'll be able to make it through the winter. The riders hope the inland hunters have better luck.
As if the bitter weather isn't bad enough, severe volcanic activity is rampant throughout the season. From unpredictable ground tremors to noxious fumes and water taints, Inartans begin to worry what will come in Winter. Neighboring mountains have also shown signs of the activity from Wind Reach and Mt. Skyinarta as landslides become a significant risk for hunters. As such, even their kills are coming up short. The threat of famine is high, how bad it will be no one yet knows.

For the first time in a long time, Summer in Wind Reach is full of fun and enjoyment. With success after success in their hunts, the Endal are bringing in more food than ever as Wind Reach and The Unforgiving surrounding the mountain finally recover from the Djed Storm. Nature seems to agree with this new happy outlook, providing the Inarta with relatively awesome weather- if a bit warm.
Because of their accommodations on a volcano, the combination of the natural warmth emitted from Mt Skyinarta as well as the Summer heat drives the Inarta from the depths of the city while they try and find places elsewhere to cool down and relax. Thunder Bay welcomes the influx of Inarta with open arms!
1st - Summer Begins with a gathering in the Courtyard of the Sky. A night long celebration is held. Market Day

29th - A meteor shower is seen in the sky after sunset, lasts the whole night.

Overview: Spring 513 AV
Following the comparatively plentiful Winter, this Spring in Wind Reach is a mild one, with few storms and a general feeling of good-will amongst the Inartans. Spring rains only last for a day or two when they do come, and it is a season of rebirth and creation: the artistic amongst the Inartans may find themselves particularly inspired by the new season and the feelings that come with it. However, with the good weather comes predators that are much more bold, and several times throughout the season, hunters may find themselves in a fierce fight against the natural world.

Thread Goals for Spring
What is a thread goal? Each season Wind Reach’s storytellers will provide a list of suggested ‘to do’ events for the characters here. These to-do threads are in no way required, but are simply for fun.
Spring 513 Season is March, April and May of real time. There are four thread suggestions a month starting in March and ending in May for the season of Spring (we'll start over in Summer). That means there is a potential of twelve threads (players choice at length) a person can do for each season. If a player completes all the thread challenges in one month, they get special recognition in this Calendar Thread under Hall of Fame. If all challenges are completed in the season - they get a medal. A super medal is awarded for all seasons of the year (that is four) with all threads done (thats 48).

Overview: Winter 512 AV
The unrest that flared during the stressful Fall Season seemed to have calmed down, petering out to little more than occasional grumbles from the remaining bitter rebellion hopefuls.
For once, the gathering throughout the Fall went well, the usually meager stockpile of food nearly overflowing the larders by the time the first snowfall hits. While still not wealthy in the food department, the Inartans find themselves free of the worry of starvation or the possibility of having to subject themselves to meals of that disgusting blue mold. Fall 512 :
Welcome to the Wind Reach Calendar!
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Fall. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Fall 512 AV
The unrest that has been growing among the Dek, starting as mumbled complaints amongst the lowest Caste has grown in size and volume. Though they haven't acted upon this unease, the Drudges of Wind Reach are making their thoughts known and paying the price for it. Any signs of disobedience from the Dek are immediately punished.
But the question remains: Why now?
As the rest of the city collectively ponders this, nobody really makes an effort to find out the reasoning or driving force behind the disgruntled Dek's sudden desire to make themselves heard. Instead, the focus throughout the city is on preparation for the Winter season that looms over the City now.
With all the debris finally cleared from the Spring 512 Djed storm, the Inarta are finally able to focus all their attentions on hunting, gathering and storing food and supplies. However, they are very, very behind thanks to all the repairs that had to be done before Wind Reach could be completely functional again. With Thunder Bay also blossoming and adding it's own resources to the Winter stockpile, things are starting to look up.
Until everything starts ripping at the seams.
OOC Information]This season there will be a Quest being run for Fall that explains and expands upon the unrest among the Dek. Much information will be posted when this gets up an running. There will be a signup for this quest.
Until then, feel free to RP ornery Dek who misbehave, don't follow orders, or are just downright rude for apparently no reason.
The Changes:
All of Wind Reach is FINALLY functional again! Feel free to use ANY of the locations on the link map!
Thunder Bay is still being rebuilt as well as expanding. Check out those new locations as well while you still can! Remember, the Winter is tough and makes it dangerous to leave the city.
New locations are going to be coming to Wind Reach thanks to the clearing of all the debris from the Volcano erupting. Many new caves, tunnels, and other useable areas have been discovered that were formally lost or unknown to the Inarta.
1st- Fall Begins
5th- Wind Reach becomes home to a large family of dire blue mice. After eating the mice, the birds of the city become disoriented and violent.
7th- The Inclement Weather hosts a celebration to raise the spirits of the city. It lasts well into the morning hours.
14th- A curious ghost moves into Wind Reach and takes up residence in one of the ravaged aeries. No Inarta is safe from her pranks.
20th- Inhabitants at Thunder Bay see a vibrant aurora over the water to the west.
21st- A harsh wind keeps Wind Eagles indoors to avoid being bashed into the volcano.
25th- Thunder Bay sees more activity as a pod of dolphins move in. They leave six days later.
28th- An Avora is found dead in the Unforgiving with no sign of his attacker.
36th- A light shower washes through the region, refreshing the city after yet another hot streak.
40th- A group of training Yasi and another Avora go missing in the Unforgiving. Tensions mount.
45th- Mid-Autumn festival in the Courtyard of the Sky. The theme is "Rejuvenation" and many visitors from nearby cities are present. Most Dek are not.
49th- Bird watchers abound as migratory flocks make their way to warmer climes for the Winter. It is a time of wonder for many at the sheer amount and variation of species, considering the effects of the Died storm.
52nd- Another Avora is attacked outside of Wind Reach, but returns with tales of a fast, cruel predator that attacks with "invisible whips".
56th- Mysterious sounds are heard from within the Underground Forest.
68th- Traders from Alvadas bring much needed produce and garments from their city, and although sometimes luridly coloured, the traders are well received.
70th- A small forest fire forces inhabitants of Thunder Bay to take refuge in Wind Reach. It lasts for three days, but the damage to the settlement is nil.
75th- A hunting party of Endal and Avora leave Wind Reach to locate the attacker that has so far taken eighteen lives. They are gone for six days.
81st- The hunting party returns. A female Wind Eagle fledges.
88th- Another Wind Eagle fledges. Competition gets rough as fights break out among the Yasi and Chiet.
91st- Fall ends

Summer 512 :
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Summer. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Summer 512 AV
Summer finds the city still picking up from the aftermath of Ivak's escape. Even a whole season later, the full extent of the damage is still being discovered. Much of the city crumbled beneath the unnatural rain of stone, thanks to the volcanos explosion and the subsequent earthquakes. As a result, much has changed.
This season, the city is fully focused on rebuilding and adapting to the changes that have rocked their worlds. Unaware and unconcerned that their recovery process might be behind that of the other cities of Mizahar, Wind Reach must keep it's collective mind focused in order to pull it off. Summer has always been the mountains most bountiful season due to easy hunting and fishing, more travelers bringing their wares for trade and barter and overall good weather. However, this Summer is slightly different.
The Wild Djed that erupted from Mt Skyinarta saturated everything within and surrounding the area; the wildlife has started changing, plants and animals alike taking on attributes and attitudes that they didn't have before. Hunting will not be so easy as many will think.
And there is a whisper.... a whisper of unrest. [/color]
The Changes:
Thunderbay was mostly destroyed in a backlash wave that originated in Denval, the coastal city that met it's demise in the spring. Sparsely populated to begin with, the inhabitants of Wind Reach used this opportunity to rebuild the Bay into something more beneficial to everyone.
OOC notes:
Stay tuned for these changes in Thunderbay. Those existing locations will be undergoing makeovers with the addition of many more fun places for the Gingers to all hang out, work, or play!
Within the city, many locations are still undergoing construction. Consult the list below before using any of the locations and make sure to include the changes also listed in your play.
Changes to locations
Sanikas Road- Still mostly blocked by rubble, large sections of the road having crumbled beneath the weight of the chunks of mountain that fell on it. Visitors are still able to use the road to enter the city, it is just much more treacherous. Those using the road to leave and hunt are encouraged to find other means of doing so.
The Courtyard of the Sky- Still filled with debris, those Dek capable of heavy lifting still haven't been able to completely remove the largest of the fallen debris.
The Crafts Gallery- The hallway/corridor that leads up to the Gallery is still partially caved in, making it hard for the Avora to work.
Aeries- Many aeries have collapsed, making them unusable for an Eagle/Endal pair.
Note: Players my offer to have their housing become collapsed if they so choose. Damage to Players housing will be fixed by the end of the season.
The Underground Forest- tremors still shake the petrified forest beneath the city, making the already dangerous location even more so. Avoided by most, the extent of the damage in the forest is still undiscovered.
Note: Players may take it upon themselves to explore this location for changes.
Tisuma Baths- The waters are still MUCH to hot to bathe in without suffering severe burns. Players are encouraged to instead use the lakes in order to stay clean.
1st- Summer Begins
3rd- A late Spring storm blows in, giving the city a much needed relief from the unusual heat that has lingered since the Escape.
9th- The first Djed-mutated creature is brought in after a hunting trip.
14th- Sfevra pod discovers Thunder Bay and stays for five days.
17th- Fights break out amongst the Yasi. One child is killed.
22nd- The Musicians of Wind Reach gather in the Cedar Amphitheater for a performance.
25th- A big boulder is moved from The Courtyard of the Sky, allowing for the first Market Day since the storm.
29th- Sounds of unrest are heard among the Dek, but nothing bad happens.
30th- The first Wind Eagle egg is laid since the storm, a huge party is thrown in celebration.
36th- All of the Glassworking wares in the Crafts Gallery are found shattered and broken
41st- Avora is found dead next to a two headed bear by an Endal in the Unforgiving.
44th- Freak lighting storm hits, killing two Inartans who were at the Edge of the World.
50th- Heat wave hits the mountain, raising the temperature to unbearable levels for the rest of the Season.
59th- A boat is spotted drifting into Thunderbay.
60th- Having drifted close enough, the boat is secured and the survivors are rescued and brought to the Infirmary.
63rd- Summer storm hits Thunderbay, keeping everyone away from the water.
70th- Sounds of unrest grows, individual reports of Dek acting out start filtering in.
75th- A Yasi child is reported missing
80th- Another Wind Eagle egg is laid, totaling two for the season.
91st- Summer ends

Spring 512 :
Welcome to the Wind Reach Calendar!
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Spring. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Spring 512 AV
Spring has always been like a rebirth, the start of a new year as well as the start of a gentler season. The cold, hard Winter ravages the land as well as it's people while Spring comes in like a soft breeze, soothing all the wounds left by the snow and the cold.
However, Wind Reach has always held a secret in the fiery depths of Mt Skyinarta. Ivak, the God of Fire, was locked beneath the molton lava of the volcano that towered, a beautiful, yet terrible, threat to the human's that lived below it. With the Inarta unknowing of this danger that lay so close to home, The Wind Eagles, set to protect the city from the god, were ever vigilant in their task.
As Winter rolls over into Spring, the unthinkable happens. Ivak escapes. In the Massive Djed Storm that follows, chaos, fear, and anger run rampant. Needless to say, this spring won't be an easy one.
For those of you looking to thread about exactly what happened to your PC or those around you after the Djed storm, send me a PM. It's difficult to find a place here to store all the information.
1st = Spring Officially Starts.

17th = With the City still in shambles, the Inartans gather in the remains of the Courtyard of the Sky. Death toll: 147.
18th = Only now that everyone is out in the open are the effects of the Storm seen. (Modded thread for those who want it.)
20th = A Group of Endal find the Wind Eagles sheltered in a cave on the side of the mountain.
23rd = Fierce loyalty is seen among the Inartans; Caste is forgotten while the City takes it's first big breath after the Storm and tries to assess the extent of the damage.
31st = A squall sweeps in from Thunder Bay and covers the city in cold rain and clouds.
33rd = Squall ends.
37th = The clutches of Wind Eagle eggs meant to hatch this year are found crushed. City Mourns.

69th = The Volcano has a minor eruption triggered by an Earthquake somewhere in the Unforgiving. Twenty people are killed.

80th = A late Spring storm hits, drenching the city in cold rain for five days.
90th = Spring Ends.

Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Winter. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Winter 511 AV
This Winter is going to be a bad one. Almost as if to make up for the mild winter last year, Wind Reach is going to be plagued with bitterly cold winds that just seem to cut right through you, no matter how many layers of fur you've piled on. The first snowfall came very early, a monster of a storm that came broiling off of Thunderby just after midnight on the 4th. The Gingers woke up to a muffled silence as the entire mountain had been blanketed with moist, fluffy snow overnight. The Endals were taken by surprise by the storm and will have to struggle to keep the food supply coming as the sudden storm closed off the Inartans from trade much sooner than they expected.
1st = Winter Officially Starts.
4th = The First Snow Surprises Everyone.
8th = A Pair of Yasi Get Lost While Playing in the Snow Near The Lookout.
14th = The Second Snowfall Blankets The Mountain Further.

Thread Goals for Winter
What is a thread goal? Each season Wind Reach’s storytellers will provide a list of suggested ‘to do’ events for the characters here. These to-do threads are in no way required, but are simply for fun.
Winter 511 Season is December, January, and February of real time. There are four thread suggestions a month starting in December and ending in February for the season of Winter (we'll start over in Spring).

Summer 511 :
Unfortunately Wind Reach had a slacker mod during this period of time so Summer didn't get its own calendar. Summer is notoriously busy for Gossamer so this is perhaps why.
Spring 511 :
Welcome to the Wind Reach Calendar!
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Spring. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Spring 511 AV
Spring in Wind Reach is going to be rough. A series of late winter storms piles up the snow on the Sanikas Road and keeps it closed until the 30th. Once the roadways are cleared, the ice in the bay is sluggish in its breakup so the actual use of Thunder Bay doesn’t come about until the 35th of Spring. There will be a tremendous late spring storm on the 65th that will involve high winds which bring down several riders.
1st = Spring Starts Officially
24th = Mysterious illness sweeps the Yasi.
30th = Sanikas Road cleared (again) from late snowstorm and open to travelers.

71st = Mysterious flock of carrion birds invade Wind Reach and try and take up residence
73rd = Two wind eagles come up ill and are grounded. One dies.
78th = Hunters bring in record numbers of mountain goats. Some have enormous horns. Their abundance blamed on the easy winter.
80th= Record rainfall grounds riders for almost ten days. Sanikas River floods.
90th = Mysterious chamber found by Earth Reimancers clearing out more space for a new freezer.

Winter 510 :
Welcome to the Wind Reach Calendar!
Below is a list of events in Wind Reach that happen during Winter. Feel free to incorporate them into your threading and roleplay or request that your PC be part of the event as it unfolds.
Overview: Winter 510 AV
Wind Reach is going to have a milder winter than normal. Luck holds because the first big snowstorm doesn't come until the 11th of Winter 510 which closes the road and isolates Wind Reach completely. This is good news because it means the food supply lasts completely until the 86th of winter at which time everyone, including the Eagles, must utilize the hydroponics to survive eating a nasty tasting (but highly nutritious) green algae grown there. The mid-winter festival happens on schedule.
1st = Thunder Bay is evacuated completely and the road crew makes last minute prep work for the first snowstorm of the season.
11th = Hard Storm finally closes the passes. No one in or out of Wind Reach other than by air.
11th-21st = Huge Blizzard Cuts off Mountain. No eagles leave the aeries. Endals are stressed and very short of temper.
24th = A grouchy eagle eats a Dek who disturbed its sleep. The Dek vow revenge on the particular bird.
37rd-43rd = Eagles grounded due to intense storm. Their tempers flare anew.
45th = Winter Lights Festival
51st = A knife fight in the Courtyard of the Sky over an Endal forcing his attentions on an Avora craftswoman. Her brother, an Endal, looses an eye in the fight.
61st = Severe Earth Quake. Gas erupts from both lakes. Anyone by them at the time will have inhalation issues.
73rd = Grain locker discovered broken into. Food supply in Wind Reach reduced by ten days meaning they would have made it through the winter without shortages for once.
86th = Wind Reach runs out of food for the year and everyone goes on green mold for a diet. (Last year it was the 70th so this year is more abundant).
Endals discover Dek having killed and roasted other dek for fresh meat. The smell of cooking food permeates the entire mountain truly upsetting the eagles.
91st = River Breaks Up Allowing Road to be Cleared to Thunder Bay
92nd = Winter Officially Over
