Irathia stood in the training grounds across from her was Sera Ravonai... They both were dressed in armor, though Irathia wielded only a training spear, and Sera Ravonai had a shield on her arm. She had a smile that spread across to Sera Ravonai, the crisp air of spring blew quietly as they stared at each other. They were going to train her in spear more, so she may have a long range option.
"Now Irathia, remember that you don't always have to jab with the spear, you can always swing it, if that is an option of course, or throw it." Sera Ravonai said. "You should try to hold the spear in a way so the weight is even, and then throw it like this." Sera Ravonai began to move her arm in a specific motion, like she was throwing a pole or something.
Irathia nodded as she turned to the side, she pulled her arm back and placed it like Sera Ravonai did. The head was a bit heavy but Irathia threw it anyways, it sailed, but the head dipped and hit the ground, causing it to basically summer sault onto the ground. Irathia frowned as she walked to grab the spear, she picked it up and bounced it.
"You didn't measure the weight, before you throw make sure you can hold it equally, or it will dip or not hit your target." Sera Ravonai said, she smiled and held up her shield. "Try hitting the shield." She said as she raised it, protecting her mid section as the crest of her head poking out from the rim of the shield. Her arms were hidden behind it as well, and her legs were exposed.
Irathia nodded and wound up her arm again, trying to make sure the weight of the spear was even... It was slightly heavy at the head again as Irathia chucked it, the head of the training spear slammed next to Sera Ravonai as the spear flipped and hit the ground. Irathia frowned again as Sera Ravonai bent down and grabbed the spear, tossing it back to Irathia. |

Irathia tried to catch the spear, but it ended up hitting her chest as she did a sort of hugging motion to the air, clamping the spear around her body. She frowned as she began to fiddle around with the spear to get it back into the correct proportions. She grinned slightly as she began to aim with the spear, the middle of the shield was her target.
She wound up her arm again, ran forward slightly, planted her right foot in the ground, and chucked her spear. The spear traveled forward, barely skimming the edge of the shield, it pushed it back slightly as Irathia straightened up, smiling wide at the hit that hit before her... Even though it was a smaller and barely actually made contact with the target she desired. Still, it made her happy that she managed to hit the shield.
Irathia ran over and picked up her spear and looked at Sera Ravonai. "Good throw, try to make it so your hand doesn't shake or turn, you will get more accuracy that way." Sera Ravonai smiled at Irathia and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Again?" She asked, holding up her shield. Irathia nodded and started to walk back to her original spot. |

Irathia bounced the spear slightly as she went back into place, she repeated the process of her first throw that was accurate, and ended up with similar results... Which was satisfying, but Irathia felt like she would use it for more long rang stabbing than throwing... Not unless she had multiple spears on her... Which most of the time she assumed she wouldn't.
Irathia grabbed her spear again. "How about more fighting, like... Stabby stabby?" Irathia said, thrusting her spear forward when she said stabby stabby a couple of times. Sera Ravonai nodded as she brought her shield up, preparing for Irathia's attacks. She smiled as she made her footing and grip the shaft correctly, all lessons Irathia learned while doing her first training session.
Irathia smiled and gave her first thrust, stepping forward and the head of the training spear slammed against the shield before Irathia tried to pull the spear back as soon as she could... Sadly Irathia wasn't quick enough before she found the spear being manipulated beyond her control when Sera Ravonai pushed the head of the spear back and to the right with a shove of her shield. |

Irathia pulled against Sera Ravonai and her momentum as she brought up the spear to get it away from her opponent. She had a idea and brought down the spear's head, not thrusting, but letting it drop on Sera Ravonai. Irathia was slightly disappointed when Sera Ravonai blocked with her shield, but it made sense, maybe if she pushed it down she could have caught her on the head.
Irathia pulled her spear back and thrusted forward, hitting the shield again as Irathia pulled back. Irathia thrusts the spear once more, making it a higher strike aiming from the head. She stepped forward as her body shifted, she was putting a lot of weight into her spear thrust.
The shield and the head of the speared cracked together, Sera Ravonai swiped the spear head, and Irathia pushed it back towards her after lifting it off of the wall of the shield. It hit Sera Ravonai in the shoulder, and Irathia pulled back, giving a small whoop at landing a hit to Sera Ravonai.
Irathia pulled the spear back and smiled at Sera Ravonai. She smiled back as she stood up, "That was a good hit Irathia." She said as she lowered her shield. "I think that is enough for one day, we should move on, what do you think?" Sera Ravonai asked. Irathia stood their and nodded as she tossed the spear to the side. |
