Inmah
Basic Information
Race: Chaktawe Birthday & Age: Spring of 479 A.V.; 31 years old Gender: Female
Physical Description Inmah’s physique has been sculpted after a lifetime of living in a harsh arid climate. She has bronzed leathery skin, tanned and toughened by the searing sun. Years of hunting and living a nomadic lifestyle have created strong limbs and sinewy muscles coiled around her tall wiry frame, lending the woman a long birdlike physique. Towering above most other female Chaktawe, Inmah is more frighteningly regal than beautiful. She has an angular, majestic face with a thin taut mouth, strong defiant jaw, long aquiline nose, pointed chin, and thick eyebrows that give her expressions an eerie cat-like quality.
Like other Chaktawe, Inmah has dark tresses. When worn loose her hair cascades down her back in wild waves. When hunting and working, she will wear her hair pulled back in a tight elaborate braid fastened with a number of colorful beads and feathers. Her double-lidded eyes are the color of coal and usually surrounded by black paint. During the day, she wears the paint as a black band across her eyes for the practical purpose while hunting under the sun. However, for ceremonial purposes, Inmah dons more intricate designs that curl around her temples and along the length of her jaw.
Inmah wears clothes of sandy hues, the color of the desert. She wears a cream colored blouse, pants of simple stitching, and a darker red cloak embroidered with blue beads and painted feathers. To protect her face against the desert’s harsh winds, she wears a white shawl that she keeps wrapped around the lower portion of her face. The woman does not wear shoes when traversing the desert dunes. Rather, her rough leathery feet are bare with translucent webs between her toes to help her walk on sand.
Character Concept Inmah is a solemn and taciturn woman, preferring strong actions and few words. Patient and focused, she is a hunter by nature and adept and spending long days and nights tracking and waiting. Equipped with a shrewd wit and diverse wisdom, Inmah is a steadfast and resourceful woman. The desert is an unforgiving teacher, and Inmah does what she needs to survive. That is not say that the Chaktawe woman is a recluse. On the contrary, Inmah exhibits a fierce loyalty to her family and clan. She comes from a large family and acts as a devoted wife to her longtime partner.
While refining her physical prowess is a necessity of her nomadic lifestyle, Inmah also seeks spiritual nourishment. The woman is deeply pensive and devoted to the religious history of her people. Ever since losing her daughter in childbirth, Inmah has furthered her intense dedication to a spiritual following, believing her deceased daughter to be watched over by her guardian.

Inmah was born into the Tatsuwaat tribe, growing up amongst a coppice of keerdash trees. She was born into an already large family, the second youngest of six children. She has two elder brothers, an elder sister, a twin brother, and a younger sister. Both of her parents were highly respected in the tribe: her father a relentless hunter and her mother a skilled healter. From a young age, Inmah trained with her father and the other hunters of Tatsuwaat to eventually join their ranks. When Inmah turned twenty, she and her younger sister married men from the Kalanue tribe from the east. Dutiful as always, Inmah welcomed the transition into a new tribe. As a parting gift, her father gave her a finely crafted scimitar with an engraving of Eywaat meant to watch over her.
Inmah was accompanied by her younger sister, Farwe, and they both quickly integrated into their new tribe and families. She loved her husband; he was a gentle man with a clear mind and strong integrity. She watched her brothers and sisters begin families, and yearned for a child of her own. When Inmah turned twenty-six, she became pregnant with her first child. She spent the months leading up to the month preparing, halting her hunting trips and throwing herself into deep prayer and ritualistic ceremonies. However, her daughter came prematurely. The day of the birth was ridden with complications. Inmah suffered severe blood loss and her daughter, born so tiny, with under developed lungs and nearly translucent skin, did not survive the night. It took Inmah nearly a month to recover from the ordeal; however, the emotional damage of losing her child was far more lasting than any physical toll. The complicated birth rendered Inmah infertile, her womb incapable of sustaining any more children.
