38th of Spring morning
Shimojes Apartment

Their is something to be said about waking up from sleep without any outside interference. Slowling coming to consciousness without a care in the world as ones mind struggles out of the confines of sleep. On this particular morning Hwyn awoke to a short beam of sunlight, the chirping of birds and a need to urinate with a mild urgency.

This only became an issue once hwyn realized to his dismay that he was trapped in an embrace. He had slept over at Shimoje's and was now trapped with the man's arms still wrapped around him. the small of his back pressed against Shimoje's chest as he softly breathed against Hwyn's neck. By Hwyn's reckoning the man was still sound asleep. So the question was, what should he do, he didn't really want to wake Shimoje up. but he was also trapped between him and a wall. So it came down to how badly did Hwyn need to escape versus how willing he was to wake up Shimoje. Perhaps he could try to wake Shimoje gently ad play it off.

Taking his thought into action Hwyn began to wriggle gently. Shaing his shoulders hips and gently tapping Shimojes calves with his heals, with luck the man might get the message. beyond that hwyn didn't really wanna say anything to him if he did he really might lose his excuse, it was perhaps juvenile but at the same time it felt wrong to wake someone who seemed to be sleeping so well. Maybe he could survive a few more minutes.

in an attempt o take his mind off the situation Hwyn tried to think about things that they could do today. Shimoje was going to show him a ship, and he said he needed supplies. what kind of supplies could he need though? More wood was Hwyn's first guess but maybe their were other things as well? It was hard to say. their was still so much hwyn didn't know about Shimoje that he looked forward to learning as they spent time together.

Shimoje slept soundly snuggling next to Hwyn. He was comfortable within the covers of the wolf pelt, and this had been perhaps the longest amount of sleep he had in a fairly long time. Mildly conscious Shimoje knew he was next to Hwyn, and upon Hwyn’s wriggling he smiled and just tightened his embrace, shifting his body. A mild grumble escaped his mouth in the process as he quickly stretched and repositioned his arm underneath Hwyn’s neck and gently rubbed his face for a moment before saying a few words that were unrecognizable.

Amongst everything else, Shimoje was a bit sore and thirsty, but that didn’t mean anything. Lying in bed Shimoje, amongst his sleep, dreamed of what would occur throughout the day. His dreams were strange and often fragmented. At one point Shimoje was at the beach, and then suddenly appeared on the Tipsy Wench bearing his leather armband with the teeth of a spearhead across it. Hwyn was with him, practically attached at the waist, watching him trying to do something with the some of the sails.

Suddenly the two appeared to be in a cave, searching for various things, when Shimoje walked through one of the cave walls and came across a strange hollow point which seemed to drop him into some waters below. At this point he gently rolled over, moving his arm from under Hwyn and plopped onto the floor, still sound asleep. While on the floor asleep he started to act like he was doing his morning routine, thinking that he was walking, and somehow managed to strip almost completely naked.

On the touch of the colder floor he began to slowly open his eyes, and seemed a bit confused. Sitting up he wondered how he got naked and looked at Hwyn questioningly on the bed.
Shortly after departure of the Tipsy Wench, a deeply held secret started to show itself as Shimoje's mental stability started to become more clear. His hand will bear the mark of Lykata and glow with a symbol of Lormar.

The morning after.... Adventures Begin

Perhaps he had made a mistake, instead of finding himself free from Shimoje he was instead pulled in tighter against the man. Though after a moment of panic Shimoje did begin to rouse himself from sleep releasing Hwyn from his death grip and muttering himself began to roll away from Hwyn.

As the man rolled way he managed to actually flop himself off of the bed in some strange half awake contortion, remove almost all of the the clothing had been wearing. By the time the man's face showed any signs of him being conscious he was near completely naked lying on the floor and giving Hwyn an odd look.

Sitting cross legged on the bed Hwyn stared back at shimoje using one of his hands to block from his view the rest of Shimoje's body so he could only see his face.

"D-don't look at m-me! You undressed yourself, so correct that and put something on already!"

Hwyn flushed, it wasn't like seeing nudity particularly horrified him so much as it was harder to gaze at someone that he knew rather than a stranger.

Turning away from Shimoje hwyn produced a comb and began to brush his hair, only to bemoan the amount of snarles and tangles that had developed thanks to his dip in the ocean the day prior. Still not looking at Shimoje Hwyn talked to him.

"I don't mind going on some adventure with you, or seeing this ship of yours. But we had better visit a spot where i can get myself cleaned up."

Then pulling out a small hand mirror, Hwyn examined his face, still pretty
he though smugly to himself. Feeling like toning himself a little better though Hwyn applied the small amount of rouge to his lips and only a small amount of Kohl under his eyes to give him a slightly more striking appearance. It was important to make sure that when with company one did their very best to look good.

"So, what is the plan for this fund filled day Shimo?"

Shimoje sat up and turned to the chest by the foot of his bed. He got up releasing his undergarments, now completely naked. Inside was a set of leathers which belonged to the ship The Tipsy Wench. It was his work clothes, but regardless they were clean and offered a resolution to the embarrassed Hwyn. He would normally freeball it in the leathers. “If you wanted we could wash up aboard the Tipsy Wench, they normally have some soap and clean water boiled water available.” Shimoje stated.

“After we check out the Tipsy Wench I was planning on walking the beach line north. Last time I went we found a cove to the south.”
He stated, trying to remind himself that Hwyn still didn’t know exactly what Shimoje did. “Supplies can be readily found, you just have to have an eye for them.”

Taking out his razor and some water from his waterskin he began to shave his head, nicely and neatly. It was a ritual for Shimoje, and something he always did in the morning almost every day. He talked to Hwyn as shaving “So how are you feeling this morning. I enjoyed last night.” He said.

“Probably the best sleep I have had in a long while!” Shimoje stated as finishing up the shave and gathering up his wolf pelt from the bed, draping it over his leathers, and grabbing his woodcarving kit from the floor.

He was mildly hungry and hoped that some fish was about the docks this morning, if not he would have to see if Feid was aboard the ship, which would be unlikely. “So some things you need to know about the Tipsy Wench. It is a Zeltivian ship which belongs to Captain Yngvarr. He trades various beers and liquors all across Mizahar. We travel back and forth to cities along the coast till it reaches Zeltiva, and then we come back and do it all over again!” Shimoje was excited, but he had only made the trip once, and it was one heck of an eye opener.

“They always are looking for a helping hand, that is how I got my job aboard the Wench, well my neighbor set it up for me to come here to Syliras to find out information of my dead father. Though, I plan to return to the ship because I liked it so much. Besides… I feel like a member of a family there.” Shimoje looked down at the floor then piece by piece inspected his tools, checking their sharpness. They were still in good condition.

“Furthermore as a member of the crew I get free clothes as you see here, free food and water, and though the rooms are smaller you can stay in their passengers rooms. They also have a free place at the bottom of the deck for the rest of the crew.”
He started to sale the idea of the Tipsy Wench to Hwyn, hoping he could interest him in coming along with him.

“oh, and I have had lots of interesting experience aboard the ship!” He said. In a recent explanation Shimoje went on to repeat a story he had previously told and acted out. He tried to act and say it just as he did before. He also tried to recall the events. “I was studying the ballistae, curious to of how they worked. They were wonderful, using a spring mechanism and elasticity of a drawstring much like a bow. It also had a lever and safety mechanism that prevented it from firing.” He got drawn up more into the aspects of the gadget than anything else. “Well, I nearly tripped over a rope, I hadn’t been used to the way the ship moves yet, and then I came up with the idea to anchor that rope to the wench and the harpoon on the ballistae.”

He made strange motions with his hands that didn’t go along with his story at all, it looked rather hilarious, and the emotion in his face as he described the device was devoid of the usual quirks of storytelling. “Well, as I was studying the device the boat started to come under attack from us going through a spearheads territory.” Shimoje stopped himself knowing Hwyn wouldn’t know what a spearhead is. “Spearheads are strange sea beasts that move slowly through the water. They have teeth that are very sharp!” Shimoje walked over and sat on the bed. “They are rather large, and have a very ugly face.” He said while trying to scrunch his face and make a spear with his fingers on the top of his head. “Well, with sheer luck I aimed the ballistae and shot straight down as the spearhead was ramming the wench!” He was excited as explaining this part.

“When suddenly having the rope attached to the beast caused the ship to go to a stop. Well the wench has sails on it. When something anchors the ship while the sails are up it causes it to kind of… shake immensely.” Shimoje didn’t know of a proper way to explain this part. “Well, when the slack of the ship caught up to the fact I nailed the beast, I fell into the sea!” He pretended to jump off his bed and get on the floor like he was swimming. “But the water was very cold. I nearly drowned. The only thing that saved me was that I managed to grab hold of the rope.” During this process Shimoje grabbed up to a corner of the bed, looking up at Hwyn. “I didn’t know how to swim.” He said sadly. “The captain had to yell at me from aboard the ship to peddle my feet, like so.” He kicked his feet back and forth while holding onto the bed.

“But it didn’t help any, I went under quite a few times.” He explained in a sad tone while looking down under the bed and popping his head up and under the bed. “Finally a majority of the crew started to heave the rope up, bringing both me and the beast aboard the ship. I swear it took at least 30 strong arms to do it, but I don’t remember. I was kind of in shock.” Shimoje pulled himself up onto the bed next Hwyn and smiled.

“When I got aboard the ship though, I hid that fact. The creature right next to me was very scary, and it had whitish eyes, ugly things those. It didn’t smell too good either.” He said and went on with the story placing the wolf pelt over his head hiding. “One of the petching crewmembers decided to kick the thing, it moved in the process. Scared me quite a bit.” He said “but it also scared him.” Shimoje finally smiled remembering his antics. “Well… he tripped over me and fell on my lap. I decided to make the most of the situation when another crewmember made a joke of him about being loose with me.” Shimoje smiled and then turned to Hwyn making a kissy face the same way to the crewmember, but this time getting slightly closer. “I decided to pretend to kiss him, and was rather close to his face.” Shimoje laughed at himself mostly.

He looked at Hwyn in his eyes once again. “It was later that night that I experienced the first time of getting drunk. That same week is when I got sick and was taken care of by a beautiful woman.” Shimoje got mildly excited in the way only a man could remembering back. “well that is also when my clothes were taken off cause of being wet, I guess I never got them back, and the room on the ship I was staying in didn’t have any clothes in it. I tried to sneak out and find them. Only to find out that almost the entire crew was eating in the mess hall, which is right by the rooms. They all saw me naked.” He said. “Seems to be a natural occurrence for me to appear naked before strangers.” Shimoje laughed at Hwyn and made a face towards him.

The morning after.... Adventures Begin

Postby Hwyn on May 15th, 2016, 2:51 am

Avoiding looking at the man as he dressed Hwyn listened to him talk as he became conscious and actually spoke with some lucidity. He offered a solution to one of Hwyn's Qualms immediately by speaking of an opportunity to bathe aboard the ship, Something Hwyn was unsure of but wasn't about to turn down given his desire to bathe. He went on to talk about his plans for the day which Hwyn listened to and while not having any particular issues with nodded in agreement with the plans.

In answer to the question as to how he was feeling on this particular morning and the acknowledgement that Hwyn had indeed benefited the man's sleep he smiled.

"I'm feeeling a little refreshed this morning I guess, though i'll be happier after some food and a bath, though again i suppose it was nice to be gently crushed over the course of the night."

The statement was punctuated by Hwyn sticking his tongue out at Shimoje. Shimoje when on to talk about his life aboard the ship. As Hwyn listened he laughed smiled and frowned accordingly, he still wasn't too sure about what Shimoje did for a living but it sounded adventurous at the very least and it seemed that life aboard a ship would be quite entertaining. Though Hwyn wasn't too interested in close encounters with anything as gross sounding as the fish Shimoje had come across.

"So you want to head out, I'm kinda excited to get on a boat, I've never been on one before"

Hwyn was a little giddy at the idea of adventures, even he found the tales and legends of heroes alluring in his naivety.

Strapping on his sword Hywn thumped his small chest with a false show of bravado.

"I bet that any adventure you cook up is going to be easy for someone as smart and resourceful as me."

Smiling at the though of himself finding some treasure or doing something else Heroic Hwny planted a foot on the foot of Shimojes bed and stood as if surveying the land.

"But I do have a question, you think I'll need my lucky underwear and socks today, or you think I won't need them? Cause I'm not sure if you'll need someone strong and dependable like me to protect you or not."

Hwyn liked to poke fun at people and even if Shimoje was now someone he considered close to being a close friend he still liked the idea of badgering him.

Introduction to the Tipsy Wench

Shimoje tickled at Hwyn’s ankles while sitting on the bed as he surveyed the apartment. “I’m not wearing anything under my leathers.” He said. “Though, I enjoy it more. Fairly well, let us head out! I think we have everything we need. Say, one thing – if you run into Siv, which likely you would… Do me a favor and kick him in the ankle.” Shimoje grinned at the aspect of setting Hwyn up, but it would be a humorous joke nonetheless. Often Siv is a very hard worker when at sea, but it would seem he doesn’t do much but drink and loft around when docked.

Heading out the door and draping the wolf pelt over his shoulders, Shimoje locked the door behind himself and Hwyn. While taking his hasted strides, Shimoje was excited to get back to the wench. It felt like it had been forever. He knew that work had to be done on it, but he would wait till later in the season to completely work on the ship. “So Hwyn, what do you know of the sea?” He aroused while perhaps poking fun at his lucky underwear should of he decided to wear it or not. “So how does it make you lucky? Have it better in with the ladies?”

Soon enough the two had reached docks. Shimoje looked back to where they talked not too long ago, and sighed. Going further down onto the dock and to the left was the ship. She was massive and held workmanship and wood far different than any of the other ships. Zeltivian made, and a proud cromster. Able to hold 90 tons of cargo, and fairly fast. The masts seemed to tower over the ship and the two of them. The fine silk looking sails boomed and tied to the top of the course.

“Hey Siv, You up there? Let down the centreplank!” There was no answer at first, though after another yell the centreplank dropped slowly onto the docks. “Watch yer yelling lass, I’ve a headache.” Siv responded. Siv was a strong and burly looking man, but bore a gentlemen’s ware and long combed hair. His leather armband bore both a tankard and a ship’s wheel meaning he was not only considered part of the crew, but also part of the family aboard the Tipsy Wench.

Shimoje walked up to the ship gesturing for Hwyn to join him. Upon getting on the ship’s main deck Hwyn would immediately see an array of different devices. Mostly weapons like the bombard and ballistae. There were also varieties of different ropes, kegs, to the front of the ship a small deck, and to the back the Captains Quarters with the ship’s wheel atop. Beside the Captains Quarteres, which normally were locked, were a set of stairs. Directly in the middle of the ship there would be grating which you could see clear down to the bottom deck of the ship. This is where storage and supplies were kept. Just at the edge of the grating was a pulley system to retract things up and down.

Shimoje began to explain “The middle deck is where we can take care of ourselves, and where my room once was. I could show you it. Should still have my armband there too. You could see the teeth of the spearhead on it.” He exclaimed as trying to make his story legit to Hwyn. Shimoje nodded his head at Siv as he passed him, already starting to lay back down leaning against the side of the ship. Shimoje made his way down the stairs and didn’t smell any food being cooked. The messhall was empty, as were the passanger’s rooms. With a frown Shimoje went into his old room and got his armband and put it on. The tankard still seemed fresh, and it lacked a ship’s wheel, but it was adorned with something different. The sharp teeth of a spearhead fish. The teeth was laced into the leather and sat ontop of the armband with the sharp point of the teeth facing the tankard, or inside, of the armband.

As he strapped on the armband “I am not considered part of the family yet, so the armband remains with the ship. I hope to eventually gain a family seeing as I have none.” Shimoje said sadly while looking at hwyn. Leaving the room Shimoje went to the messhall and saw a clean furnace and tables adorned with clean wooden utensils and plates which sat upside down. Most of the dried herbs from the previous voyage stayed, but aside from that there wasn’t much food to be found. In the corner resting in a cabinet was a piece of meat wrapped up and sealed tightly. Shimoje walked over to it and opened it up. It was fish jerky, and by the looks of it spearhead. “Ha, Feid said she would make sure I got to taste the spearhead, but shortly after killing the spearhead I fell ill and never got to feast with the rest of the crew. Likely she made jerky for me, but forgot about it!” Shimoje wrapped the piece of meat up and put it in his leather pockets.

“Well, what do you think of the ship so far? I should show you the bottom deck.” Shimoje walked over to the stairs once more and started descending. As they descend they would see various crates and empty slabs of wood used to haul kegs up and down on a sling. Around the middle of the ship there were at least 50 cots sprawled about the ship with their covers neatly folded. “The captain prefers things to be clean down here. It could get messy and crew could get sick if not taken care of.” Shimoje started to explain. On the sides of the ship there were oars and latched holes to place the oars outside of the ship. “In case there is no wind, we use manpower to cross the seas. It takes a lot of strength and effort.” Shimoje went on “Well this is the Tipsy Wench, she is much more lively with more crew aboard! There in that corner is some fresh water and a small syphon which drains into the sea, there is also a water lever should you want some sea water to wash with. Soap is right there. Yep open bathing, but not normally. The crew would put drapes over it but I didn't see such. Guess we will have to do. Hope you don't mind?” Shimoje looked at Hwyn then started to take off his clothes. He needed a bath as well. Walking over to the water lever he pumped it splashed water across his naked body. The water drained back into the sea. Taking one of the bars of soap he lathered it up, but it dropped and slid straight for Hwyn. “Mind bringing me the soap, Hwyn?”

Shimoje was more open to this sort of thing, but often the crew would set up drapes for privacy, which were currently absent from the lack of crew being there. Shimoje though, atleast tried to show Hwyn the decency of staying towards a corner as not to embarrass him too much.

The morning after.... Adventures Begin

Postby Hwyn on May 15th, 2016, 6:08 am

In response to Hwyn's bravado Shimoje took a moment to attempt to tickle Hwyn which Hwyn dodged animatedly not wanting to reveal how weak he was to such an attack. Setting out to see the ship Hwyn decided against ducing into his room to grab his spare clothing deciding that he would save his other outfits for new days.

Hwyn came to a couple conclusions as he followed after Shimoje, one that he would do well to not tease the man unduly else he might end up inviting getting himself in trouble, and that the man was not particularly effected by embarrassment any more than he was by inhibitions. It wasn't really something that he could do anything about but plan around and expect from Shimoje. That said Hwyn was aware that he very well might end up bathing with him, he'd have to be careful. Hwyn flushed a little bit in embarrassment at the fact that his mind had even traveled in such a direction, he needed to think more a bout a heist or music to keep himself sane and unworried about anything beyond having allies.

Upon reaching the ship Hwyn was impressed by the size of the thing. Hwyn looked from board to board and from weapon to weapon trying to drink in the entire sight of the thing. It looked like a small fortress in and of itself. Hwyn could hardly imagine what it would be like to be out at see on such a vessel. Going past his room Hwyn got to see where Shimoje had once lived and what the armband he had spoken of previously looked like. it wasn't something Hwyn would wear, he didn't consider bones something to keep as trophies but if that was Shimojes style then such was his taste.

Then they made their way to the lower decks of the ship, Hwyn got to see the kitchen which even for it's placement on a ship had a homey lived in feel to it, Hwyn could understand the charm of wanting to live on a ship. The living quarters far below were neat as well if a bit confining as a place to sleep in. Then came the last stop on the impromptu tour, the baths.

Without any hesitation Shimoje informed Hwyn that their weren't any partitions up because the crew was out, though that did little to ease Hwyn's mind on the subject.

Without any pause after that Shimoje stripped down and began to lather himself up without nary a care in the world about him. A managing to drop and kick the soap towards Hwyn in the enthusiasm with which he washed himself.

As per request Hwyn did retrieve the soap for the man though he kept his eyes averted. Then withdrawing from Shimoje Hwyn tentatively began to undress himself making sure to neatly fold his clothing and place it in a small pile while also making sure to obscure his groin and front from view.

As Hwyn washed he faced away from Shimoje and focused on scrubbing his hair, to Hwyn one of the more important things about him was his hair which he had been taught to maintain meticulously and take pride in, and he still did, his long blonde hair that reached to the top of his small back.

If one was to gaze at hwyn from behind they would likely notice immediately the long stripe like scars that crisscrossed his entire back down to just above his buttocks, followed by nother set of scars that looked more deep and jagged that crossed the backs of his calves. beneath those scars however was relatively pale and supple flesh, signs that even with the scarring lotion was often applied with car and that it rarely met direct sunlight had had maintained a certain luster that sun damage tended to take away. From behind it was also easy to see another reason that it was so common for Hwyn to be assumed female. His form shared the almost hourglass shape that some might call ideal, his shoulders were thin and his midriff was thin around the waist, if one was aware of what years of wearing a corset would do to someone.

Moreso than that was the the way Hwyn moved, beneath his general odd an spaz like behavior Hwyn was meticulous in cleaning himself from his hair to his arms to the souls of his feet which took to some contortion to clean. Hwyn did curse himself for leaving behind some of his bathing supplies he wasn't able to reach his whole back or scrub off dead skin as well as he could have with the odd coral that he bought at the market from time to time but the salt water would have to do.

Still not looking to Shimoje as he bathed he talked with is back turned.

"What's so important about family, it's not like you can't survive on your own ya know..."

Net and Fish

As Shimoje took care in washing himself he almost had expected Hwyn to react in a way that he would just wait till Shimoje was done. Much to his surprise after handing him back the soap, Shimoje saw out of his peripherals that Hwyn was indeed about to wash himself. Shimoje started to hum to himself while he washed. Trying to hopefully calm himself a bit. Last night they had slept together, and now this. The curiosity was drilling into him, but he managed to edge a bit of control from his inner desires.

Looking over at Hwyn Shimoje noticed the scars straight away. They were unlike his scar which ran from his right shoulder, around his bicep, and down to his forearm stopping just above the wrist. His eyes widened at the scars, and he immediately felt sorrier for him. He remembered back to the story Hwyn had lashed out at him on the docks. Hwyn had a rather female looking body himself, and as he bathed he asked a rather peculiar question that made Shimoje’s heart sink.

Shimoje quietly made his way over trying his best to sneak to Hwyn, and spoke while behind him “Family is everything in Zeltiva. Dishonoring the family is to dishonor oneself. Often it ends up being societal blashphemy. It’s a huge tradition to support your family and hardships. We are taught to obey and honor our families, and due to food shortages we all struggle together and take of each other. I didn’t get that luxury.” Shimoje ran his fingers down the scars of Hwyn’s back and then took his soap and lathered it on. Knowing that Hwyn couldn’t reach. He would be there scrubbing gently for some time, and almost enjoy the rather touching moment.

Recognizing how meticulous Hwyn was about bathing he figured that he would help Hwyn. He took care and caution in it and gently poured water over his back then went to dry himself off. As if he didn’t want to overwelcome his action. Getting dressed Shimoje face towards Hwyn, but didn’t take much attention at what he was doing. Putting back on his leathers, armband, and simple boots Shimoje walked over to Hwyn and handed him one of the cloths used to dry oneself with then went into his pack and studied the amount of supplies in it.

Inside there was his usual stake which he had used for a variety of things, some smaller pieces of wood, a nail hammer, carpenters mallet, and nails. Taking a shrug Shimoje said “I will be up in the room or the main deck I showed you earlier.” He walked upstairs and started to lay out the wood out of his pack. Knowing he needed to make room for the gathering of supplies. He waited for a bit, and as if Hwyn was taking his time proceeded to the main deck. “Hey Siv, is the net below?” Shimoje asked Siv, without looking around to see if he was there. An answer was heard from above Shimoje “Aye, and me thinks the fishies had enough time to play with it, I saw some ropes moving earlier.” Siv responded from above “I’ll help you retract it, I am hungry too!” He said while getting down from the crowsnest. He walked over to the side of the ship and him and Shimoje started to pull up on a net. It was simple enough, but as they pulled they walked towards each other and then combined their ropes and efforts together and walked to the other side of the ship to haul in the net all the way.

A variety of noise soon ensured as two larger fish and a strange looking beast with claws, that resembled the sign outside of the Broken Casket played at the weaving of the net. Siv was quick to walk over to each of them and kill them, subsiding their flapping. He then worked on removing the net and handed the fish and crab to Shimoje to go cook. “I’ll be down in the mess hall before long. Have to reset the net.” Siv said as Shimoje quickly walked away back down to the furnace.

Shimoje set some wood inside the furnace then started a fire. First he worked on setting some water to boil, which would take some time. As the water would try to reach boil Shimoje placed the two fish on the cutting counter and picked up the various tools that were left there used to filet and skin the fish. He worked diligently and tried his hand at degutting the fish, a messy process, but one that wasn’t always pleasant. Cursing at himself “I just peching washed myself.” He took some alcohol and gently rubbed it and some dried herbs upon the fish’s exposed meat before placing them on two rather larger cast iron plates with a longer handle.

The water starter to boil and he placed the crab into it as it started to turn the crab into a pinkish color rather quickly, he then placed the two plates inside the furnace, and soon smoke seemed to gather round the fist as most of the roaring flame had been snuffed. The smoke wrapped around and then escaped from the vented furnace letting out a very delicious smell of rosemary and oak wood.

Speech Thoughts
Shortly after departure of the Tipsy Wench, a deeply held secret started to show itself as Shimoje's mental stability started to become more clear. His hand will bear the mark of Lykata and glow with a symbol of Lormar.

The morning after.... Adventures Begin

Postby Hwyn on May 15th, 2016, 5:21 pm

Hwyn's spine stiffened in response to the surprise touch, though he didn't resist knowing who was behind him, the fact that the hands were gentle and were further aiding in his cleaning ritual brought an appreciative sigh. It was similar to massage in that, one's own hands can never really create the same feeling that someone else's can. Hwyn listened to Shimoje's explanation of what it meant to have family. It was a foreign concept to Hwyn, he had had a "family" but even then he had always struggled alone, he understood that he had been a shame at times, but their had never been honor.

Even after Shimoje left Hwyn stood alone in the belly of the ship wondering about what it meant to have family, and if something like that was something he even wanted, was it really all that important to be able to depend on others? Slowly drying off and redressing Hwyn bemoaned the poor decision to apply make-up in the morning as he had already washed it all off. Deciding to not apply another layer he simply redressed and headed topside to the ship.

By the time he had made his way to the deck Shimoje was already cooking in the kitchen wearing that face he made when he was focusing on a project. Hwyn sat back and watched the process a the man boiled a crab and gutted a fish, the sight made Hwyn glad that he wasn't the one cooking, he didn't care to much for the idea of being spattered with fish guts.

Then Shimoje started to actually cook the fish, it made a quite fantastic smell that sets Hwyn's stomach to rumbling in anticipation. Not that he'd admit that he was excited about eating.

"So Shimoje, how far away is your home? And how far does this ship go, I can hardly imagine what it must be like to travel all the time."

Hwyn wasn't sure what it would be like to stay constantly on he move. it was an odd concept to Hwyn.

"And if you are always on the move... then how an you have a family? Don't families need to... stay together?"

The ideas sentimentality and companionship on a scale that involved a crew were beyond Hwyn, he had always imagined families to be by blood or marriage, and the ship didn't really suit either of those needs at least not as Hwyn saw it. Perhaps their was more too it, or maybe the purpose of traveling was to find a place where he could get a family? Was a family something that could be sought out if you didn't have one?

Shimoje looked into the furnace, occasionally taking a peek at the food as water and foam from the crab boiled over onto the plates causing a sizzle. “Oi, Shimoje you trying to kill us?” Siv said as rushing down the stairs. He quickly removed the pot of foaming over water and fishes and set it on a flat stone which was often used to set hot things in the mess hall. “You don’t need to cook fish for long, they cook rather fast, looks like meh saved em just in time!” Siv said while studying the fish and crab. “Yus need to work on your fileting skills.” Siv went on in scalding Shimoje.

“so what were you two talking bout?” Siv asked looking towards Shimoje. Forgetting to introduce the two Shimoje exchanged their names together. Siv just looked at Shimoje with his arm’s crossed. “I heard mention of family.” Siv looked towards Shimoje and Hwyn once more.

Shimoje, kind of eying the fish, started to hand out portions on the wooden plates, he cracked the crab with his mallet and put good meat on each plate along with meat from the fish and sat down on the table. “Zeltiva clear across the continent almost on the other side of the world you can almost say.” Shimoje smiled “But that isn’t my home.”

Shimoje took a bite of his fish and relished in the delight that it wasn’t overcooked. The slight taste of oak and rosemary graced his taste buds. “Traveling isn’t so bad, we have everything we need right here. The captain usually does a very good job to make the living conditions here decent.” He said “As far as having a family.” Shimoje looked towards Siv who quickly was demolishing his portion of the crab. With a slight clearing of his throat and a swig of beer he responded. “Certain members of the crew distinguish themselves aboard the Tipsy Wench, even when just a regular member of the crew we all take care of eachother and look after one another. We spend so much time together, struggling together, talking together, and helping each other with our problems that we can become like a family.” Siv explained, perhaps in an almost clearer way of speaking. Food always made the best come out of him.

“The Tipsy Wench is unique in that aspect. She is like no other ship that we have sailed on. We prefer not to fight with each other and we all try to respect one another. No one likes a job that is miserable and a negative environment. The sea is hard enough without people making it worse.”
Siv seemed to have a lot of hindsight into the subject. He himself was considered part of the family.

Shimoje looked down back at his plate and back at Siv. “When I first came I felt a bit alienated, but I quickly started to be a valued member of the ship. After being sick I was taken care of. The captain took me under his wing and showed me things and taught me things in a very patient manner. I have never experienced anything like it, not even in school back in Zeltiva.” Shimoje smiled and looked towards Siv. “Then there is Siv.” Shimoje just laughed and smiled at him as if sharing an inside joke; Siv also did the same and patted Shimoje on the back as he finished his food and drink.

“How are you liking the food, Hwyn? Normally a beautiful woman named Feid would cook for the entire crew. Her meals are much better than mine.”
Shimoje looked over to Hwyn and then stacked his dirty dishes on the table. “Mind taking care of this Siv?” Shimoje asked. The man frowned but then accepted “Sure, no problem!” he said. Shimoje got up and stretched while waiting for Hwyn.

“So what are you two off to do? By the way, is Hwyn going to be joining us on our next voyage? If so he would need this.”
Siv said while handing an armband to Hwyn. It still looked rather fresh. Shimoje was surprised to see Siv hand over the armband, but something told him that it was perhaps for the better. “I needed to go scavenge for some more supplies. Things are getting rough.” Shimoje said while taking a sip from Siv’s tankard of ale. Siv didn’t seem to mind in the least. Sharing was a custom that was well allowed aboard the Tipsy Wench.

“Oi, I think I saw something drifting in north of the beach. Looked kind of large. Shouldn’t be too far.”
Shimoje smiled at the bit of information. Perhaps today he might be able to find something of use.
Shortly after departure of the Tipsy Wench, a deeply held secret started to show itself as Shimoje's mental stability started to become more clear. His hand will bear the mark of Lykata and glow with a symbol of Lormar.
