Crystal Nightshade
Crystal nodded and tried to relax as Garland cleaned her cuts. She briefly wondered why Garland would need to hide from others, but dismissed it when he announced it was personal. She listened carefully, trying her best not to let the sting of the alcohol distract her.
"You've been through a lot then. That's more than I can say for myself." he said softly. Garland seemed like a good man, he just had a lot of issues in the past. "Me? I don't have much of story, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to explain a little."
"My family was small but happy. My mother was a seamstress, and my father a hunter. I took an interest in hunting when I was little, so I was with my father more often than my mother. I loved them both very much but," She paused. She didn't know whether she was comfortable sharing, but she did it anyway. "My father died on a monster hunt, and my mother died from grief shortly after. All I was left with was my Father's bow and bills I couldn't afford.
I wasn't angry though, just filled with sorrow. I sold the house and was forced into the orphanage. Occasionally I would sneak out, go into the bronze to practice, you know? I wanted to make them proud instead of moping around." She wasn't sure if she was fully aware of her surroundings at this point. She was reliving her past in way. "I left when I turned eighteen. I applied for a hunting job. IO earned enough to get an apartment, but sometimes I feel like I'm still living in the past."
She turned to Garland and paused for a moment. "I don't really talk to anyone often, I'm usually in the Bronze. Strangely enough I don't feel lonely or anything, I feel... almost content. What do you do in your free time?"
