It's been ten days prior of Dina's adoption. Since them, Ferrin had been growing affectionate for the young lad. It was earlier in the afternoon, Jade was preparing a meal as always and Ferrin was making the beds. Dina sat over by the table on one of the chairs. She was coloring on paper.
Ferrin had just pulled over the blankets that were on top of the bed. As he folded the top of the blanket over he was watching Dina. She was laughing and having a good time coloring and drawing. Ferrin smiled and then he carefully leveled the blanket and folded it at the front of the bed.
Then he placed pillows just on the front of the frame. He made their other bed the same way as well. Making it look nice and tidy. He picked up the toys in Dina's room and placed them carefully inside her toy chest.
"Jade." Said Ferrin as he walked into the kitchen. "What do you think we should do today?" He asked as he rested a hand on one of her shoulders. After Jade would respond. The three would hear a nock on the door. "Visitors huh?" Said Ferrin out loud.
"You want me to get the door?" Dina asked Ferrin as she looked up. Ferrin shook his head.
"No honey I can get it." He walked over to the door. Answering it. It opened with a creak and it was a surprise for Ferrin. Just as much for the two girls as well. "Oh Garland hello. Come on in..."
"With a heart of steel, I raise my blade in combat. The only thoughts I have in my mind is whether I'd return home to my family. I am a soldier, and will fight for love and peace. That is the way of being a Syliran Knight"-Ferrin.

After their hunt in the Lavender Ruins, Garland and Ferrin had gone their separate ways after splitting the loot. Garland would have enjoyed a good ale with a friend, but he was worried about his own children.
He had been threatened and the only way to really get to Garland was to his kids. Luckily for him, he had good friends to help. Currently the twins were staying at Sera Catherine's home, but no one knew that except Garland and Catherine.
The twins had been cooped up in Catherine's home for too long, and Garland decided to let them get some fresh air. It came to Garland's attention that the twins never actually met anyone else from the knighthood, except the Alexes, and Catherine.
With that in mind, Garland had brought the two to Ferrin's apartment. It was strange that Ferrin didn't use the free lodging in the barracks, but to each their own.
Garland knocked on the door, and waited for a responses. The twins leaned forward towards the door and knocked with their tiny hands. They didn't stop and just started making noise and babbling.
Soon enough Ferrin opened the door and motioned Garland to follow him inside. "Oh. I didn't know you had guests Ferrin. She seems familiar." Garland said and looked at Jade. "Have we met before?"
The twins on the other hand were busy staring at Dina, most likely that they saw Dina when they were in the Orphanage and was wondering why she was here.

Jade hummed while making breakfast for the three. Walking the kitchen the blond got some oats from the cupboards. A small smile played on her lips hearing Dina giggling at the table. The woman and man had seemed to fall more in love with the young child quickly after choosing her from the orphanage. They didnt have all the money for some of the toys the little one had wanted, but they were able to get her a bed, sheets, and clothes. So Jade explained to her that in time she would be able to have more toys, but for now the little one was happy and content. Walking over to the counter she used a clean bowl to measure out what they would need for breakfast walking over to the pot with the milk as well, the woman knelt down and poured in all the oats needed for breakfast as well as milk. Checking the amount she put the items away looking for the spices.
Looking she smiled softly seeing Dina still coloring. Turning back the woman took down the salt, honey, and a couple of apples. Taking the salt and honey over to the pot Jade opened it and pinched the salt in gently not wanting to over salt it. Stirring in the salt Jade picked up the honey and used a spoon to trickle the honey into the oats as they began to thicken nicely. Looking the woman turned to see Ferrin when he touched her shoulder.
"I'm not sure yet. Since we both have the day off maybe we can go to one of the parks and let Dina play," Jade said and stopped when she heard a knock at the door as well.
She put the lid back on the pot and grabbed a rag wiping off her hand seeing a familiar face. Garland was the last she had expected to see. It was more likely that Ferrin's patron had stopped by to check on the squire.
"Oh hello Garland. What do we owe the pleasure of this visit? I should last we met you had me practicing with a sword," Jade said with a soft smile.

Ferrin was really surprised that it was Garland who came knocking on the door. He was worried at first that something was wrong with Ser Xervos. He let loose a sigh of relief.
"Garland. This is Jade, and over here is Dina. We've just adopted her recently." Said Ferrin with a smile he watched the twins as he took them inside. They appeared to be curious of Ferrins little Dina.
Dina stopped her colring and looked at the twins. "Who is that..." She asked aloud. "This, is Garland. We're Squires." He said with a smile over at Dina. He walked over to her and ruffled her hair a bit. She chuckled and went back to coloring.
"So Garland, I hate to be rude and eat in front of you. Would you like some breakfast? Jade cooks wondrously." Exclaimed Ferrin as he sat down opposite of Dina. "What brings you here?"
"With a heart of steel, I raise my blade in combat. The only thoughts I have in my mind is whether I'd return home to my family. I am a soldier, and will fight for love and peace. That is the way of being a Syliran Knight"-Ferrin.

"Some food would be grand." He smiled, he didn't want to seem rude by refusing some food. With a smile he nodded at Jade.
"Sorry, I remember now. Jade right?" He smiled and looked over to the little girl and her drawings. "Hello there, nice to meet you. Say hello kids."
The twins looked at Dina with curious little eyes. "Babay! Baday!" Aneeka babbled on, and waved her tiny arms at Dina. Garland smiled and set the two of them down on the ground.
"I came here to let the kids meet their aunt and uncles, not related by blood, but I'd like to think they have a pretty big family in Syliras." Garland sat down and looked over to Jade and Ferrin. "So... Wait... Wha-wha...?" The cogs in Garland's brain started turning, piecing together what Ferrin just said.
"Adopted? S-so you two are married?" Garland asked, rather surprised and looked between the two of them, looking at their ring fingers or wrist, looking for a wedding ring or wedding band or some other significance of marital status.
The twins stared at Dina with large child-like eyes. They wanted to play with the closest thing to their own size and become friends or at least playmates. Aneeka babbled on with 'Badays' and the occasional 'papap' directed to Garland.
Phobos crawled towards Dina and gave curious glance at Dina's drawings. "Oh! Oh!" Phobos giggled at the pretty colors and saw the colored stick in Dina's hand, and pointed at it.
Garland looked at the twins, a look only a proud parent could show. Though he was also relaxed, oddly so. They were safe, in the city, in a home with two trained squires, and he felt relaxed, that was normal, but feeling relaxed was strange to Garland ever since the start of summer. Him being relaxed made him more on edge with no reason to be.

"That's me, Please sit Garland you don't have to stand. Dina why don't you take the kids in your room and show them all the toys you have?" Jade asked with a smile.
"OKAY!" Dina said excitedly hopping down and running to her room giggling.
Jade got down two bowls humming putting them on the counter beside the pot. She knelt down and grabbed the lid lifting it off. Stirring it a small smile appeared happy with the thickness. Grabbing one bowl at a time she scooped out plenty for the two men. She would eat after they had their fill as well as Dina and the babies. Replacing the lid she put in two spoons before cutting up the apples and putting three slices on top of each bowl. Walking over the woman sat across from Garland placing the bowls before the two men.
"No, we aren't married. Just wanted to give a little one a happy home," The woman said with a soft smile hearing the kids giggling.
She was content and happy with the small family; she had managed to find with Ferrin. Dina was like a daughter to her, much like her younger sister's had been with mother was away with father. The young woman had to grow a thick skin and hard attitude early in life, but she never allowed herself to be consumed by it.

The Kenashian flushed a little red hue across his cheeks as Garland assumed that he and Jade were married. It feels that way, but not yet. He didn't want to rush the feeling, and Jade was just getting situated. Sure enough, they both might need more time before other acts need action.
"No, silly." Exclaimed Ferrin as he attempted to hide the embarrassment of his thoughts get the best of him. "We're together. Not married quite yet." He said seriously. He didn't want to make a play out of it, he just wanted to say what was right versus the wrong thing he could've said.
"Garland, I remember you telling me you had twins, but I didn't expect them to be big." He meant as in age wise. "Did you adopt to?" He asked him curiously. He took a spoonful of the stew that was handed to him from Jade. It was warm, and reminded him of home for the most part, which was fine. Though, he still felt guilty for leaving his parents and siblings behind.
"Jade and I were planning on going out. Would you like to bring the twins along? I'm sure Dina would love it. Jade, where were we heading again?"

The twins looked at Dina and unsteadily started standing up and slowly wobbled over her, giggling as they do. Garland smiled as the two tiny tots ran after Dina.
"No chewing on stuff, Neeka. Phobos, watch your sister." Of course the two of them didn't understand, they only understood their names, but giggled and waddled off to the other room.
Garland smiled at Ferrin when he said that he might have adopted them. "No, they're almost a year old now." Garland took the bowl of warm food and a spoon and looked over to Jade. "Let's eat before talking of leaving, come on, why don't we all eat before the kids. Knowing the twins, they'll just make a huge mess if I don't keep an eye on them when they eat."
Garland was glad the two of them found each other, finding love is incredibly hard, at least for Garland. He was also happy that these two decided to adopt a child, losing a home and parents is quite the ordeal, since Garland was from the orphanage.
"That girl, Dina right? She seems like a nice girl, how old is she?" He asked and started eating. The food tasted great, it wasn't Orin great, but it was good for a homecooked meal.
Garland only cooked one thing, it was horrible. It was a nice change to eat something homecooked that didn't poison his stomach. "What's Dina's story? Left there in the orphanage? Dead parents or was she born there and the parents never came back?"

Jade looked at Garland when he spoke of eating before the kids. With a soft smile the blonde looked towards the room not bothered by the wait. Shaking her head the young girl turned back to the men before her. The girl had become content with Ferrin and did not wish to leave his side no matter the danger. Their previous adventure in the Storehouse had proved that she was loyal to him.
"I am fine thank you. I have grown accustomed to waiting," Jade said with a smile knowing that one bowl is more than enough for the kids and herself, "I was thinking maybe one of the parks. She has been cooped up for a while with as much work as we have had lately."
Jade knew there was no way for Ferrin to take her to work with him. So Jade takes her when possible teaching her how to approach horses and how to care for them.

Ferrin chuckled as Garland replied about eating before the kids. "Yes, it'll probably be a bit more quicker as well. It's not like we're in a hurry or anything." Replied Ferrin as he scooped himself another spoonful of his stew. He watched Jade sit beside him. Ferrin grew a little red around the cheeks. Be attempted to conceal the shyness that he and Jade were together now.
"She's at the age of seven I believe. She grew up in Sunberth." Said Ferrin slowly trying to recall the majority of what Aenysa discussed about her. "Her mother lived a low life within the slums of the city. She was brought here in the Orphanage and we've decided to adopt her ten days prior to now." Replied Ferrin. He basically summed Dina's life time story up in a sentence or two. He scooped himself another spoonful. The warm liquid coursing through him again and again. It was relaxing, nonetheless.
"I don't think her mother or whoever will come back for Dina." Ferrin said in a serious whisper. "I'm just glad that we could get her a nice home to stay at. This adopting thing sort of binds the relationship between Jade and I." Ferrin said with a warm smile pursing over his lips.
"Jade, the only park that I can think of at the moment is the Stone Gardens. You remember that place right?" Asked Ferrin as he turned to face Jade. "We don't have much parks inside of Syliras. But, we could find somewhere to go. Garland, you've grown up here. Where did you go when you wanted to play as a child?"
"With a heart of steel, I raise my blade in combat. The only thoughts I have in my mind is whether I'd return home to my family. I am a soldier, and will fight for love and peace. That is the way of being a Syliran Knight"-Ferrin.
