Not everything in the world was ruined by the Valterrian. Some things survived and were destroy afterwards and some things were destroyed before the God of Fire decided to try and ruin the world. No one knows what the case was with The Citadel in the jungle, but the place has been utterly ruined. Once a gleaming testament to structural engineering and comfort, the Citadel was obviously a palace once upon a time. Shining white stone makes up its outward guise. It's only when one ventures inside that they realize the citadel is a burned out shell. Something violent, sudden, and enormously destructive happened inside.
The Ruined Citadel is like a direct reflection of good and evil. Outside its walls are slowly decaying perfection. Inside, it is a sudden horror involving fire and death. To those sensitive to magic, a dark djed threads through the place. And worse perhaps than the taint of magic leftover from times past is the souls leftover from times past. Ghosts walk the halls in all shapes and sizes. They are angry, confused, and somewhat dangerous being among the more talented and ancient of ghosts on Mizahar.
And because of this sudden destructive violence, the remaining inhabitants, and the whole atmosphere, the ruined citadel is truly one of Syka's most dangerous neighbors. Many have wandered in to explore and look for artifacts and have never returned again. Those that have escaped alive have claimed the Citadel itself is alive, crazed, and in enormous pain.
