Syka Seeks Settlers!
Traders both on land and sea slowly began to spread the word. There was a new settlement of humans on Falyndar's coast across the Suvan Sea from Riverfall. Resting at the edge of the jungle this new paradise was looking for more settlers to make a go of the wilds.
In exchange for a craft business opening up in the area, the settlement Founders were promising free land and aid in settling into the area in order to draw people in. The promise? Five acres of free land on the coast and jungle were reportedly promised in exchange for their skills. They were looking for blacksmiths, healers, fisherman, weavers, seamstresses, carpenters, and even wood carvers. The needs in Syka equated to a demand for a whole host of skills. Land was plentiful and there would be help building housing. Cooks, animal handlers, soldiers, and even those that could grow food were being sought. Others with additional skills or unique arts might be considered on an individual basis. The rumors hinted that even such professions as prostitution or artists would be welcomed.
The draws of free land was strong, but also too was what the traders on both land and sea whispered about Syka. It was paradise where food grew wild on trees and it was forever warm. It was protected from the Dhani and Myrian which were not allowed in the city. Everyone else, especially humans, were welcomed.
The place was claimed to have temperatures that never rose above 85 degrees and never dipped below 70. There were two rainy seasons and two dry seasons broke up the year. In the rainy season it rained at least twice a day. In the dry season it went days on end without rain.
Food was plentiful though and so too were jungle predators. People thinking of relocating to Syka were urged to a have some sort of ability to survive in the jungles in the form or another. Otherwise there was a general buzz of excitement.
Nothing was ever mentioned about the ruins of Pavena or the other secrets Syka might hold.
