To Writhe In The Darkness

The day had been in its adolescence, and on this fine morning Skyard found himself exploring the "entirety of the island" or so he thought. Syka was a place just as beautiful as it was dangerous, and Skyard picked up on that fact rather swiftly. Skyard had to adapt, and become stronger in order to survive; he knew that he would not be interested in majority of the people he met here. Kaie was the only person that mattered to him, and he would do anything if it meant that he would return to her safely. Perhaps the next time that he got to see her he would return stronger than he had ever been before. He stood upright with his fists clenched tightly, and he walked along the shore a short distance away from the water. Skyard began to wonder whether or not this was some strange form of punishment. Had he been forsaken? Perhaps if he had been stronger he could have defeated the strange individuals who took him captive and brought him here against his will.

Skyard suddenly began to run at a brisk pace, and he spotted a rather large rock which erected itself from the ground diagonally. He stopped and knelt down for a moment; only to notice that the coloration of the golden-brown sand became darkened here. Perhaps it was because of the fact that the large rock cast a massive shadow which extended for what appeared to have been several feet. The sand which surrounded the rock had been the same color as the rock itself. He began to theorize, and thought to himself aloud. “Perhaps there is a process.. A natural one that destroys rocks, and maybe other things as well.. I've never seen a rock this smooth.. This rock.. It's been here for a long time... I believe that maybe the sand over time made it this way..” He concluded his thought and backed away from the rock just as swiftly as he visited it.

This newfound area always seemed to be incredibly hot, and the air was thick; although the island was gorgeous in appearance. He decided that he would go beyond the shore, and walk into the thick vegetation of the jungle. Skyard quickly stumbled upon several plants that he had been unfamiliar with, and then he discovered a Tree. One so massive that it certainly did stand out among its peers; the top appeared to have been so far away from the ground where he stood that he questioned its origin. Skyard decided that he could use it to train with. The Kelvic closed his eyes tightly, and inhaled slowly followed by an exhalation. He channeled djed throughout his body which started at his heels; the Lion planted his feet shoulder width apart. He made an observation about the flux whilst he attempted to control where the djed moved, and how much of it he used all at the same time.

Skyard continued to theory-craft, and decided that he would attempt to manipulate the djed with a bit more precision. He focused so intensely that he could hear the throbbing of his heart, and attempted to visualize his body. Skyard brought his palms together as if he were praying; however he visualized his Djed starting in the center of his chest. Where the steady throb came from; he could feel his heart beat, and attempted to control the djed as it attempted to run wild. His breathing became heavy, and rather than enhance the typical parts of his body such as his limbs he would try something more dangerous today.

Skyard knew the dangers of his discipline, and decided that rather than use a large amount of djed all at the same time in his heart that he would attempt to distribute the rest evenly. Skyard suddenly felt his heart pound so hard that he felt as if he were going to fall over at any moment. He continued to visualize his body; in his mind he saw a shadowed figure with multiple red lines running across it to represent the blood in his body.

To Writhe In The Darkness

What he currently imagined was him attempting to tame once large amount of djed he would have used under normal circumstances, and attempted to move four other individual amounts of djed simultaneously. He was not a very good at multitasking or was he the most observant individual, and he could feel the djed as it traveled through his muscles rapidly and came to rest within the palms of his hands and at the base of his heels. Only when he felt comfortable enough to control his djed did he decide to make use of it to its fullest potential. He knew that he had to concentrate heavily on his heart because of the fact that the flux was a dangerous tool. His heart hammered away beneath his chest cavity far faster than he has ever known it to before. He felt each and every individual beat, and unleashed a ferocious combination of strikes on the tree simultaneously.

The first strike was with his right palm; often considered to be his primary hand to strike with. The first strike landed incredibly fast, and Skyard felt a sudden burn and sting as a direct result of lactic acid buildup in his entire arm. However, just as quickly as he felt the burns and stings the sensation disappeared all at the same time. Perhaps the rapid increase of his heart-rate reduced the amount of exhaustion in his muscles. Skyard thought to himself as he continued, and rotated the entirety of his body with his next palm-strike to the Tree. He delivered the strike with quite a bit of force, and while the first strike only violently shook the very base of the Tree; the second strike took a large chunk of bark with it. Skyard threw yet another strike, and although he was not an acrobatic individual he leaped forward and rotated his hip in order to strike the Tree with his left shin. Although that caused him an immense amount of pain he attempted to remain strong, and clenched his jaw.

As he brought back his leg, and attempted to stand upon it with all of his weight he felt the equivalent of being stricken with a hammer to the shin. He ignored the pain and carried on with his final strike, and he intended to take down the massive Tree with the final one only to fail. As his leg rocketed toward the Tree, and he completed the entire motion. The blow followed through, and as a result a large chunk of wood flew away from the Tree. Skyard was not yet satisfied with himself, and thought for a moment about whether or not he should continue. He had already learned that Flux could be used to increase the heart rate. Skyard had yet to ever invent a specific technique; all of the great masters of a combat style were also the creators of their own techniques. Some were even known to have honed a single technique to the point that they did not need to specialize in anything else.

Skyard began to wander off into the depths of his vivid imagination. He watched two Akalak from the training facility in his home do battle. However, they were alone rather than in large groups as they typically were. He saw the instructor, a large purple Akalak with incredibly dark hair and two lakan strapped to either side of his hip. Skyard made an immediate observation; he saw the first of the two males leap, and just as swiftly as the motion took place the first Akalak had already been behind the second one. Skyard snapped out of his brief daydream, and decided that he would try to mimic the very technique that he just visualized.
