Hey, A few questions on Kelvics and ideas I have just to hear others thoughts. I think I have a good idea for most of it, but I want to ask anyways. There is a lot of ranting, and displaying of my thoughts, for that I apologize. For clarity sake I did underline the actual questions, but it might not be helpful, sense a lot of the questions are entwined with the paragraphs. Some information on Deleronark, he is a Talderian Wolf Kelvic, I have already gotten permission, and he was once, though is no longer, a slave. He has been bonded once, but his bondmate is now dead. He has escaped and is now in Endrykas, I have also gotten approve on the conept. The Flux, and a Kelvic – As far as I can tell, Kelvics are just as comfortable in their human forms, as in their animal forms. And, they are able to use certain magics in both. The Flux being a body magic I feel it would be usable in both forms, as safer even that combining morphing and Flux? Has anyone seen PC’s combined the two, and what are your thoughts? I feel like it shouldn’t be an issue, but want to make sure. Kelvic’s and Horses – I can already hear the groans, but I have a few questions. Deleronark is going to start out in Endrykas, and he is a Wolf kelvic. So, no striders for him, and honestly, I am okay with this. If I wanted a strider I would be an Drykas. But, I wanted to ask about other horses. As far as I can understand it, horses will be very uneasy and untrusting of Deleronark from the get go, especially if they see his animal form. And, Deleronark is still a predator, he will always question the taste of horse meat, especially if hungry. However, I assume I can still use animal husbandry, and gain the trust of a horse? Maybe not to ride, at least not at first, but to be comfortable to pull a wagon. After all, the city moves a lot, and I see a wolf hucking around his stuff to be even more troublesome to the city. Also, how possible if is it for Deleronark to gain the trust of said horse, will he ever be able to ride it? I am talking about after quite a few IC threads to gain trust. I know a lot of people will say anything is possible, but I want to stay true to the lore, and let’s be honest, not everything is possible, it just can’t be. As such, if it is unlikely I want to keep that in mind before even attempting to make it a possibility. Kelvics and Diseases as well as food(for a Talderian)– I honestly feel this is a no brainer, and answered in the lore, but I want to ask anyways for my own clarification. Wounds, and sicknesses do transfer between both forms. So, if Human Del get the flu, then Wolf Del will have the sniffles and symptoms, and vice versa, although it might be diagnosed differently, they are infact more or less the same. A canine only disease will still transfer to Human Del? In regards to food, this is again for my own mind and I think I understand it. Deleronark is a Talderian wolf, and as such would (if he was real) eat mostly raw meat, and at very very large quantities. However, there are some things that will help his case. Being a Kelvic in human form, he would need an increased calorie intake, and probably get hungry more but, he would not need to eat an entire dear in a day? Not that he couldn’t do it. And, say that Wolf Del did decide to hunt, and kill a dear, and eat it. Despite how much he ate, and that it was raw food, it would not harm or effect Human Del? On that, Kelvics are weird, so as such Human Del, if he wanted could infact eat raw meat, and it would not kill/harm him? But, he does not require raw meat, and in another scenario, his wolf form wouldn’t die if his Human form decided to pig out on chocolate? I am not certain about the last couple, but it makes sense to me, so I want to ask. Kelvics and Slavery – So, Deleronark is a slave, who was once bonded. So, I have some questions about that situation. I think I did it correctly, and with the lore. But, I want to make sure. Deleronark as a slave would be an irritable and depressed creature, like any animal but more so. Not only is he a human, forced into the confinement, but as an animal he was kept from the very things that make him special, such as running in the wilds, or howling at the moon. I would play this as a character that has become very untrusting, and somewhat awkward, in both forms. He doesn’t really know what to do with his freedom, nor does he really know what to do as a “true wolf”. Does this sound feasible and pretty accurate? Bonding- Deleronark as I said was bonded while in slavery, however it was not to his horrid master. Long story short(the long one in in CS) He was expected to compete as a fighter, uk being massive wolf and all, but at the time he was only one year of age. He was paired up with another slave, a Drykas woman with her own set of skills(More on her in my CS as well). She had tried to keep him at arm’s length, but in the end Deleronark chose her for his bond when he came into adulthood(another year later), solely because it was his only source of solace within the confinement, and she chose him because of what they shared. The bond formed before Deleronark first true fight, when the two learned they couldn’t survive slavery without the other. They ended up falling in love, and the rest came from that. However, their bond ended up causing strain on them. Just as any love would do as slaves. The strain was not bad, but Deleronark master would use it to keep either of them in line. By threatening the life of the other. In addition, their bond aloud Deleronark learn faster during their training. Something the master was not opposed to. In the end my question is if this sounds lore friendly, does this sound correct for a bond? I know they are all different, and I feel I did it correctly. But I just want another opinion? I do want it stated, that his bond mate is now dead. That is an entire different story, and leads to more problems in his backstory, which I have fleshed out. I apologies for the massive amount of reading, as well as the total brain dumb. I just wanted to run some things though other players, mostly to make sure I understand things correctly. I am very thankful to anyone who answers or provides their own opinions. |
