Winter 32nd 516 A.V
The Prairie
The Day was young, and yet again Aerius found himself with a lack for entertainment. Therefore the Immortal who seemed to lack a care in the world for life ventured out into the open. Under normal circumstance he would not bother to go and practice his skill-set. Perhaps it was for the best that he hone his control of Reimancy. He could not so much as attempt to hide the fact that he was not comparable to majority of the other mages on Sahova. Perhaps destiny purposely forced him onto the island without a purpose. However, all he needed to do was practice; he had all of the time in the world to perfect his craft and he wanted to start without wasting any more time.
The Nuit exited his poor excuse for living quarters, and stepped out into the open. The moment that the Sun struck his flesh he scoffed, and began his journey toward The Prairie. This particular area of the island was practically created for experimentation. If he wanted to become a proper Wizard; he needed the one thing that the city emphasized upon which was progression. The Immortals pace was rather swift, and within a few chimes he reached the destination which looked barren. Save for several fauna which seemed to somehow flourish in an area without much food or water.
This time he was without his dog, and only companion; his dog was off asleep in his home. Upon entry Aerius spotted something that possessed a grotesque appearance, and stood out to him among all of the other creatures of the land. There were birds that were massive, and appeared to have wingspans larger than he was tall. Yet, this creature had a menacing appearance like none that he had ever seen before. It's skin was the color of azure, it possessed a set of gills, and webbed feet despite the fact that it had the body of a canine with a lengthy tail and fins on it's back and the underside of its tail. Perhaps the extensions of flesh were meant to maintain some sort of control when it moved through water.
Aerius with no more than a blank book, and a quill as well as a bit of ink began to take notes on the creature vigorously. “Long tail, Muscular body, Blue Skin, Fins, Gills. “ He jotted down quickly in common and he made an immediate note of something else. Not only was he taking notes as fast as he possibly could, but the creature seemed to get closer each and every time he took a note. It watched him in much the same way that he watched it. The two seemed to have been observing each-other simultaneously, and he had no problem with that. However, if it were to come any closer he would be forced to act despite the fact that he would not want to.
“Is seen on Land, meaning it must have lungs too.” The Immortal quickly noted and the moment he looked up at the creature again there it was; it charged at him with obvious malice in its eyes. He absolutely hated the idea of killing such a beautiful creature, but if it had to be done Aerius would not hesitate to protect himself. His eyes set upon the target, and he attempted to keep track of the creature as it darted back and forth on its way toward him.
At the rate it moved it would not stop before it got to him, and Aerius was left with no choice other than to react. His mouth gaped open, and res was exuded immediately from his throat in a conical shape as a gas. The Azure mist flowed from his mouth as if it were a spontaneous fog, and he did not want to over-give. Aerius instead decided to release a small amount of res over a large span of area to craft a more res-efficient spell. “Freeze, Foul Creature.” Were the final words he spoke as the mist managed to cover a vast area right in front of him.
