Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

Winter 1 510, A.V
A small dark cloud formed above the bronze wood and with it came a light rain, almost like a messenger of sorts that Winter has come. Down below in a little campsite Stag, fast asleep half inside his tent with his upper body just poking outside, looked so peaceful until he felt the pitter patter of the rain. Pitter patter Pitter patter came the rain bombarding Stag with icy water.Instinct took over and he rolled to the side... a little too hard.
The tent gave way not only falling on him but also trapping him inside as they kept rolling but soon stopped. Like a snake shedding his skin Stag wriggled moving whatever joint or muscle that could be moved. It took some effort but at last Stag emerged from the mangaled tent. Not wasting anytime he quickly picked up his tent, sprinting all the way back to his campsite. Finding it was easy all he had to do was run in the direction in which he rolled from but getting there was an entirely different thing, sprinting the distance was a terrible idea because of the rain it made the earth slick, walking it was hard enough but sprinting and your asking for pain. he tripped, slipped, rolled over, hit his head on a tree, overshot his campsite even almost diving head first into a hornets nest finally he made it back to his camp site.
His horse Daraq somehow slept through all of it.Wet and irritated he was, then a sigh came. Clearly he was tired and he wanted to sleep but his tent broke his only means of shelter and the fire which gave him warmth was all but gone, all that remain was cold black ash. No fire, No tent now wha-wait! an idea popped up I still have that blanket right?. Quickly he spotted his bag right next to his horse, not wasting anytime he flew towards the bag, opened it and plunging his hand at mind boggiling speed, like a prized fish in an angler's hands the blanket was in his. Now he could sleep. Leaning on his horse he spread the blanket easily covering him and even some parts of his horse. Finally he let nature take over. Soon he would be dozing off. |

He couldn't exactly say where he was but it looked strangely familiar. There was water and there was land but it was too small to be a lake. The smell wasn't salty but it had a smell nonetheless almost sublime, if soothing and inviting had a smell this would be it. Cautiously he dismounted from Daraq gotm close to the water as he dared and plunged his hand in the water, preparing for the cold but it was strangely warm, he took a handful examined it for a bit and 'tasted' it to check if it was a dream or not. Again he tasted it and again and again. Now he was he just gorging himself on the water the funny tasting not cold water however it wasn't enough one hand wasn't gonna cut it so he used both hands. Bad idea as he reached for the water he suddenly slipped.
Splash. His body going head first into the unknown. Under the water, although warm which he was thankful of, still he was underwater and unless he was mysteriously gifted with the power to breathe under water he was in real trouble. Most people who find themselves underwater would instinticvelly swim up to the surface and that's just what Stag was about to do when suddenly he remembered where he was. His leg, the merchant and a girl in leather it all came back to him. It came so fast that he forgot that he was underwater. It was just a split second only a split second, a split second where he had a little flashback but once that little instance came and gone everything went back in motion. I'm drowning; flailing his limbs in all directions as water rushed in through his nose, mouth, ears and even his eyes.I'm really drowning
The surface of the water looked still and placid no one would have guessed that a man was drowning then Pow! he came out. His hand reached out to the first thing they touched the lead of Daraq. Daraq spooked by this did what any horse does, panic, and panic it did. It reared up standing on just two legs pulling up the rest of his rider like an angler pulls out a fish. Stag's body crashed on the surface. His hand never left the lead but he did cough..allot. Crunch Both heads turned to where the sound came from but for Stag atleast he couldn't see past the first few trees but his horse stood very still. "Huh, what is it boy" he was concearned for his horse afterall it's the first time he ever saw him like this. Out from the surrounding trees a snarl was heard followed by a long grey snout emereged. |
