Quelen Dran'Sora Basic Information Race: Charodae Birthday & Age : Winter 72nd, 492, 18 Gender: Female Physical Description Standing at 5' 10", and weighing 120 lbs, Quelen's tall and lithe body is a light gray. Even a casual glance at her will reveal the fact that her left arm is missing from just below the elbow. Aside from this blatant scar the rest of her body is smooth and unblemished, and very much that of a Charoda. Character Concept Quelen is extremely curious of the world, even beyond what most would consider Charoda curiosity. With this curiosity is tied a wanderlust, fueled by the desire to see everything the world has to offer with her own eyes. Most important to her in this desire is to play all the different music Mizahar has to offer, and learn to dance all the different dances. Like most Charodae Quelen abhors violence, and much prefers to speak, or sing if confronted with problems. She is very pleasant and friendly, willing to befriend most anyone as long as they attempt no harm on her or others. Character History From birth Quelen's was hinted at, if not outright proclaimed by those looking back on it now. First to emerge from the coral pouch, in what some would call eagerness, she was already wandering about this way and that as a little tadpole when her parents first saw her. As she grew so did her curiosity, and it was often that her parents would wonder where she had wandered off to, only to find her playing with some pretty rock, or rooting about the sea floor nearby. In school she was was intelligent and eager to learn as much as she could, especially about music and dance. Not just the music and dance of the Charodae, but she wanted to learn of the music and dance of the other races she was learning about. Her tutors had some knowledge of these things, but not nearly enough to satisfy Quelen. Wanting to see what strange musics and dances the creatures of the land had she started to plan how she would travel the world, learning it all. Some passed it off as the fanciful dreams of a child, but for Quelen she had found her quest for life. As Quelen grew she eagerly took to the encouragement to explore, and would often spend most of her day away from Charbosi learning about the ocean and interesting things that surrounded the city. During these trips she would pick up interesting or pretty things she found, and bring them back to the traders to try and sell. While much of what she brought wasn't worth much, if anything at all, every miza she earned was carefully put aside. Slowly the pile grew, and with it grew her dream to see all the dances of the world, to hear all the music. Once her schooling was complete Quelen started to spend longer and longer away from Charbosi, sometimes being gone for days at a time hunting up treasures to trade. During one of these trips she saw something sparkling in a crevice of rock, and after looking around a little she reached in to try and grab it. Sliding her arm in however disturbed some loose rocks, and before her fingers even touched the glittering prize she found her arm stuck. No matter how she pulled or struggled the rocks only pressed in and cut into her skin more, and so she could not free her arm. It was several days before she was found by her family, and at that point Quelen was somewhat delirious from the pain and lack of food. Fearing for her health, and life, the tough decision was made to remove her arm to free her. Quelen blacked out during the process, and her unconscious body was carried back home by her worried family. When she awoke Quelen was a shadow of herself, barely even venturing beyond the coral walls of her family's home for an entire season. She mourned for the loss of her arm, and the loss of her ability to play the harp or dance properly. After some time of mourning, and learning to play some simple songs with only one hand on her harp, her desire to see the world rekindled itself, and even stronger than before. Taking the mizas she had earned she bought some supplies, and then started to explore the shore of Falyndar, poking her head above water for the first time. For most of a season she would just look, awed by the sight of the world that was without water. With time she started to venture out onto the shore, testing how it was to walk, and carefully exploring the world above. It was during one of these trips that she met and befriended Dlight. Now she is getting ready to start exploring the world, visiting the places she has only heard in story, and see what there is to see. Once the world above has warmed at least.
